There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. (Genesis 6:4) And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5)
  This series called Men of Renown will begin with these verses in Chapter 6 of the book of Genesis because it is the perfect scene setter for whatever and whoever follows that enables men of renown to act in conflict against God and His Word. Verses 4 and 5 are an accurate definition of men of renown.
 For those who are new to this series allow me to point out some strange points about this series: first, it is called Men of Renown, and yet this article (as some previous articles) is about women, or a woman, or the woman; second this article is founded on the book of Genesis, the first book of the Bible, and yet, here we are in the last book of the Bible, the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. How did we get from Genesis to Revelation through Men of Renown? First, Babel and Nimrod led us to Babylon, then Babylon led us to Revelation and back to the great prophetic book of Daniel, and here we are once again in Revelation. Babylon The Great
The Third and Last Mention of Woman in the Bible
  Just a basic recap: there are three women mentioned in Revelation. The first is Jezebel in Part xix. Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols. (Revelation 2:20) This was an actual person and also a type that represents idolatry WITHIN the church. Then we have the second woman mentioned in Revelation Chapter 12, which is a type of Israel mentioned eight times through verses 1, 4, 6, 13, 14, 15, 16 and 17. Finally we have the last mention of a woman, and the woman in Revelation Chapter 17, verses 3, 4, 6, 7, 9 and 18. It is easy to remember the chapters where the woman Jezebel and Israel as the woman are documented: Jezebel – Chapter 2; Israel – Chapter 12; and Babylon as the woman – Chapter 17.
  SIX times a woman, and the woman are documented in Chapter 17. If you have been following this series, then you are well aware of the meaning of this number. Isn’t it intriguing how this particular number keeps appearing in the strangest places? And there is also another interesting connection with the number six: Babylon is also mentioned SIX times in the book of the Revelation, 14:8; 16:19; 17:5; 18:2, 10, and 21. Therefore, a woman, and the woman is Babylon.
  Since we are going to be on this subject for quite awhile let’s place all six mentions of a woman, and the woman at the beginning of this article.
1. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17:3)
2. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: (Revelation 17:4)
3. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. (Revelation 17:6)
4. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17:7)
5. And here [is] the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. (Revelation 17:9)
6. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. (Revelation 17:18)

The Judgment of the Great Whore
  The theme within Chapter 17 of Revelation needs to be etched into our minds for the Holy Spirit of God writes with awesome clarity through the first two verses the purpose of His judgment. And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: (Revelation 17:1) With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. (Revelation 17:2) You will not find the phrase ‘great judgment’ in the Bible, but you will find this phrase great whore twice in scripture. (Revelation 17:1; 19:2)
 The apostle John, while exiled on the Isle of Patmos, was shown supernatural visions so grand, so immense, so seemingly unfathomable, so mind bending that thousands of years later in our current age of time, we are still drawn to its profoundness. This seventeenth Chapter of Revelation is about JUDGMENT. There have been many judgments written about in the Bible: the judgment against the angels in the heavenly realm, the judgment against Adam and Eve, judgment against all the inhabitants of a previous world except for eight (8) souls, the judgment against nations, the judgment against individuals, the judgment against a chosen people (Israel), and the judgment against a failed apostate church. This world has been under the judgment of God many times, and the Lord Jesus Christ affirmed God’s judgment when He is documented saying in John 12:31 and 32, Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me. The world is in its third day, or in the beginning of the three thousand years’ time period since the Lord was crucified, and God’s judgment is ignored, mocked, ridiculed and denied, but nevertheless, the world deserves every bit of God’s judgment as the peoples of the world sink deeper into unimaginable fantasies.
  In spite of the record of God’s right to judge, scores of simpletons refuse to acknowledge that God’s judgments are righteous and holy. This mistake has led these simpletons to propagate the false concept that God doesn’t want man to judge, when it is just the opposite: GOD WANTS MAN TO JUDGE. First and foremost, MAN MUST JUDGE HIMSELF. Yes, the Bible is full of judgments: God’s judgments and man’s judgments. Since the heart of man is deceitful even to himself, he is unable to comprehend that God has set principles by which man SHOULD judge and when he SHOULD NOT judge.
Side Note: Number Seventeen. Why did God the Holy Spirit select this particular chapter in the last book of the Bible to place His judgment against this great system of evil: Babylon the great. Why seventeen? Two numbers in the spiritual dictionary of numbers stand out: the number 10 and the number 7. Of course, there are many other numbers that total seventeen, so why select 10 and 7? Seventeen is a prime number and a significant number spiritually. Seven is the number of spiritual perfection and ten is the number of ordinal perfection setting the decimal sequence of the beginning of the double digits. As the number seventeen is based on two factors (1 and 17), it also represents two different facets involved in God’s governmental order in judgment: separation from God (judgment) and separated to God (refuge and salvation). The number ten (Ten Commandments) sets the theme for the number ten: God’s governmental order. Consequently, this is the perfect Chapter to place God’s judgment against His last earthly adversary: BABYLON THE GREAT. (Do not forget that God’s last adversary (Satan) will come to his end in Chapter 20 of Revelation. The first major battle is Armageddon where Babylon the Great and the Beast, and the prophet of the beast is destroyed. Then, one thousand years later (after the millennial reign of Christ) there will be the FINAL battle between God and Satan when Satan will be destroyed. Do not confuse these two battles. The first battle brings an end to the slaves and servants of Satan, and the last battle addresses the end of Satan himself. Again, God’s perfect order plays out.) Number seventeen is spiritually represented in two numbers: 10 and 7, and it also is represented through two different teaching methods that the Holy Spirit of God uses: the unseen in chapter headings, and the seen in the number itself.
• These [are] the generations of Jacob. Joseph, [being] seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad [was] with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father’s wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report.(Genesis 37:2) Joseph was seventeen when he was betrayed, sold and separated from his father and land. The number of seventeen, therefore, sets the beginning of the theme of the number of betrayal, evil report or witness against evil, and separation through suffering.
• And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the whole age of Jacob was an hundred forty and seven years. (Genesis 47:28) For seventeen years Jacob was separated from the land of promise, from his home and from his inheritance. As long as Joseph ruled over Egypt Jacob was safe, and the first generation of his tribe was safe. Here we have God’s provision of refuge in a foreign land.
• And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam [was] forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the LORD did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name [was] Naamah an Ammonitess. (1st Kings 14:21) During his seventeen years of leadership, the nation of Israel became divided: ten tribes became known as Israel, and two tribes became known as Judah. Under the reign of Rehoboam, Israel became divided. And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him. (2nd Chronicles 12:1) At the end of the seventeenth-year reign of Rehoboam all of Judah and Israel had forsaken the law of the LORD.
• In the break away tribes known as Israel with their central city in Samaria, Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu, reigned seventeen years. In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] seventeen years. (1st Kings 13:1) Through this we see another separation from God. Jehu served God mightily: he destroyed Baal out of Israel (2nd Kings 10:28), and he called for Jezebel’s servants to throw her out of the window, So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot. (2nd Kings 9:33) Yet the Holy Spirit of God documents the other side of Jehu in his disobedience to God.
Howbeit [from] the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, [to wit], the golden calves that [were] in Bethel, and that [were] in Dan. (2nd Kings 10:29)
And the LORD said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing [that which is] right in mine eyes, [and] hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that [was] in mine heart, thy children of the fourth [generation] shall sit on the throne of Israel. (2nd Kings 10:30)
But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin. (2nd Kings 10:31)
 God’s judgment can be seen in the seventeen-year reign of the son of Jehu, Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, [and reigned] seventeen years.The story continues on with Israel (the ten tribes of the north) continuing in their sin, then seeking God’s favor, then receiving a savior, and a prophet (Elijah) then turning away from God over and over again. What Jehu refused to judge, God DID judge. What Jehu refused to deny, his children willfully accepted; thus, the house of Jehu ended in total failure and JUDGED by God. The evil enemy of God that Jehu had first fought against became Jehu’s failing. He and his descendants continued to follow the sins of Jeroboam, the first king of Israel. Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, but walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.) (2nd Kings 13:6)
• In Jeremiah 32:9, we have the LAST mention of the number seventeen, but this time the number is connected to shekels of silver. And I bought the field of Hanameel my uncle’s son, that [was] in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, [even] seventeen shekels of silver. Jeremiah’s cousin sold his inheritance to Jeremiah because he refused to believe the prophecy of Jeremiah that God would return Judah to the land after seventy years in captivity to Nebuchadnezzar. Hanameel’s rejected his inheritance because he rejected God’s word. The last mention of seventeen in the Bible is the culmination of how man’s unbelief causes man to lose his inheritance. (There is much more that connects the number seventeen with shekels of silver. Remember the thirty pieces of silver that Judas received as the price for his own soul when he sold the Lord Jesus Christ to the enemies of God.) Here in the last mention of seventeen in Jeremiah 32:9, we see God’s governmental order in judgment: separation from God (judgment) and separated to God because of judgment (refuge and salvation). ♦ End of Side Note: Seventeen.
  This 17th Chapter of Revelation from the very first verse sets up the theme of JUDGMENT and who or what deserves to be JUDGED. And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: (Revelation 17:1) With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. (Revelation 17:2) My sanctimonious spell checker has a fit whenever it encounters politically incorrect words such as ‘hell,’ or ‘whore.’ The Spirit of God tells it like it is, He is never wrong with His choice of words. Chapter 17 is about a particular JUDGMENT, not against a specific individual, nor against a specific nation or a people, but against a system, and organized system of religious worship. This is the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters . . . and kings of the earth . . . and the inhabitants of the earth.
 The phrase great whore is only mentioned twice in all of scripture: And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: Revelation 17:1 and 19:2. For true and righteous [are] his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. The earth has been completely corrupted by this whorish system. A system so vast that it has touched every waterway, every land mass, and every person who has passed through the time frame of humanity has been affected, or touched, or influenced, or manipulated by its evil. This system began at Babel, in the land of Shinar, in Babylon through the first confederate universal world leader in the man Nimrod.
 Since man is limited in his particular range of existence, he cannot see history as important. This plays into the war games of Satan. He doesn’t want mankind to understand the past. Satan doesn’t want man to comprehend the present, and he doesn’t want man to realize the future. How did this massive religious system that surrounds us today come into being without the peoples of the earth seeing its root of evil? I am not writing about a specific religion. I am writing about the soul of religion. Christianity is NOT a religion. The soul of religion has kidnaped the souls of men from their Creator God to serve and worship every form of organic and inorganic matter instead of the God of creation.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Roman 1:16)
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (Roman 1:17)
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (Roman 1:18)
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. (Roman 1:19)
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Roman 1:20)
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Roman 1:21)
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (Roman 1:22)
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (Roman 1:23)
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: (Roman 1:24)
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Roman 1:25)
  Mankind is not drawn to truth, but man pulls against the truth as a repulsive force in a magnetic field. He will follow anything or everything but the truth. Consequently, when faced with a spiritual entity, man will inevitably choose the material realm. Man’s need to worship is greater than he can explain he doesn’t want to know the reason for his need to worship because man cannot accept what he once had and what he lost. Adam, the father of mankind, was created for God’s pleasure, and God’s pleasure was that man would know the love of God. That it was God’s love that created and formed mankind. It was God’s love that man would not be alone in his material world. It was God’s love who walked in the garden in the cool of the day to fellowship with Adam and Eve. (Genesis 3:8) It was through the determinate counsels that mankind would be redeemed by the love of God. To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. (Galatians 4:5) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) Hereby perceive we the love [of God], because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down [our] lives for the brethren.(1st John 3:16) Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son [to be] the propitiation for our sins. (1st John 4:10)
  Man’s religious life centers first around himself. Mankind desires first to serve himself. Thus, he worships himself, his emotions, and his accomplishments. The material world is the only world that man lives in and the only world that he thinks he can understand. The God of the Bible does not fit into man’s idea of what a God should be. Thinking that the spirit world consists only of imaginations and carnival games, mankind cannot conceive of a holy and righteous Creator God who is Spirit. God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. (John 4:24) Since God is Spirit and in order to communicate with man on a level of man’s understanding, God often appeared to individuals in the Old Testament through the preincarnate Christ also known as theophanies (the appearances of God). Yes, Christ is in the Old Testament through symbolism, typology, and visibly. Why Christ? Christ is the express image of the invisible God because Christ is God. Who could foresee with infinite knowledge that types and signs and symbols and shadows would signify centuries and millenniums before the real substance would come in the fullness of God’s time frame to be the perfection of each type, sign, symbol and shadow? Christ is the expressed Word, He is the basic substance of all that was foretold and forecast. He is the fullness of all and all.
God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, (Hebrews 1:1)Â Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (Hebrews 1:2)Â Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)Â Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (Hebrews 1:4)
  Just because mankind seeks to worship something beyond himself does not make mankind a spiritual being. The object of true worship is God’s beloved Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. The New Testament presents two types of people: first, those who believe that the realm of God is attainable by their own notable achievements, and through a system of merchandising (the exchange of money and the receiving of spiritual prominence) such as Simon from Samaria documented in the book of Acts, Chapter 8, verses 9 – 24. The primary characteristic of this man was his desire to be recognized as some great one (Acts 8:9) and to be thought of by the people as This man is the great power of God. (Acts 8:10) Satan is very talented when it comes to counterfeiting spirituality. But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. (Acts 8:12) Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done. (Acts 8:13) The word of God clearly states that Simon himself believed also, but the Spirit of God also clearly DOES NOT state what Simon believed in. You see, Simon already believed that there was a God, for he worked to achieve recognition as a man with the great power of God. Although Philip preached things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, and many men and women were baptized and received the Holy Ghost, Simon however, DID NOT receive the Holy Ghost for if he had been born again by the Spirit of God he would have known the power of God indwelling within for the Spirit of Christ is the Spirit of truth. The following verses allow us to see that Simon was not saved, he was not born again by the Spirit of God because Simon’s main desire remained in him . . . that he should have the preeminence among man . . . that he would have a name among men. And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money, (Acts 8:18) Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost. (Acts 8:19) Peter understood that Simon’s belief was not based on God’s truth but on his own need to be some great one and to be accepted by the people as This man is the great power of God. When a name and a reputation become the prize then Satan has succeeded in drawing man away from the Person of Christ. Peter clearly saw that Simon was not saved, that he was in the bond of iniquity. Simon was still the sorcerer, he was still a minister of Satan, and he was still under the control of the enemy of God.
But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money. (Acts 8:20) Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. (Acts 8:21)
For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity. (Acts 8:23)
  Why am I spending time on Simon the sorcerer in Acts Chapter 8? It is because men of renown, such as Simon the sorcerer, have made fools out of those who listen to them and believe them. Just because a person can pronounce the name of ‘Jesus’ correctly, and can hold a Bible in one hand, and have a good dental program, and is reported to be ‘a good person,’ and draw crowds, and speak of ‘love’ and ‘blessings,’ and wear the best clothing or even better than that they wear luxurious robes of the finest silks and satins DOES NOT MAKE THEM MEN OF GOD nor do they represent the things of a holy God! I fault the followers more than I fault the deceiver because discernment is no longer taught nor sought after. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, [even] those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:14) The deceiver may be an excellent spiritual counterfeiter, but followers of the deceiver are also ignorant and empty of God’s word and God’s power. Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. (Matthew 22:29) I am very tired of meeting individuals who have no trouble stating that they are Christians, and yet, they have absolutely neither understanding nor knowledge of the word of God. They can speak about their church, and of their special gifts that elevate them above others, BUT that is all that they have. I am so tired of religious people. They are the hardest to reach for Christ. The world is full of religious people but very few Christians.
  Why are we here at this point in this article about the whorish system of Babylon overtaking the world with its religiousness? If you are wondering how did the church become so lost, how did the church become an apostate church and how did the unrepentant heart become so depraved? It began the same way that Israel began when the nation first worshiped the golden calf at the base of the holy mount of Sinai. They turned away from God and would not repent. During the first period of Church history the Ephesians left their first love and followed after another love. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. (Revelation 2:4) As Israel went, so too the Church followed. The last church called Laodicea became inundated with false believers that streamed in to make the church just like the world: consumed with a material doctrine and overtaken by a false spirit of safety and security founded on their own goodness and wealth. The need to belong to a prestigious group of religious individuals and to be accepted among people who are not accepted by God is a very strong bond tying the lost to a system instead of being tied to the Person of Jesus Christ. When the church became a system, it rejected the Person of Christ and cultivated a name above the name of Christ seeking, as Simon the sorcerer to become some great thing and to be thought of by the people as having the great power of God. Through thousands of years of satanic indoctrination, the people of the earth cannot distinguish between what is of God and what belongs to Satan. No matter what label people gather to and under, they gather to themselves only. Answer me this: when John was on the Isle of Patmos alone without a church to attend why did God choose to give John the greatest revelation at that point in time? Why did God send Elijah to the brook Cherith alone with no one to fellowship with? Why didn’t God send Elijah to Jerusalem, to the Temple, to the supposed place of God’s presence? Servants of God do not need a building to serve God. A building cannot replace The Person because the message will become about the building and not about The Person. Why has the church failed? It has failed because it has sought its own glory. Christ is not taught. Christ is not known. Christ is not cared for, thus, the glory has departed and He is not even missed. Well, then you say, We gather to fellowship. I call this religious hypocrisy. If you have gathered to fellowship, then how come you know nothing of your Savior? You gather for social reassurance and acceptance, you gather out of habit, or a self-imposed guilt; you gather because you are required to in order to keep your salvation . . . since it was your organization that saved you. But this I am sure of, you do not gather to fellowship with Christ, you do not gather to become more knowledgeable in the word of God. Why am I so sure of this? It’s easy to answer because the individuals who I have met who are churchites know nothing about the glories and beauties of Christ. They can speak of their ‘spiritual’ gifts. They can articulate church doctrine. They can promote their building program but begin to speak of the glories and beauties of Christ and they have nothing to offer. Speak of the value of His blood, and of the good things to come through our joint inheritance with Him, speak of the purity of Christ as the beaten candlestick, and speak of His humility in being the perfect sin bearer and they can neither add anything of value nor engage further in order to encourage and stimulate your own heart and spirit. This is what one on one fellowship is: to arouse the desire to know more about our Lord and Savior; to encourage and to energize the knowledge of the holy. Let us now examine the second type of religious person that the New Testament speaks of. The seventeenth Chapter of the book of Acts is about Paul’s experience speaking to the ‘all knowing,’ and ‘knowledgeable and intelligent’ world of Athens, Greece, the home of philosophers and masters of intellectualism . . . oooooh . . . I am so impressed!
Now while Paul waited for th em at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. (Acts 17:16)

And they took him, and brought him unto Areopagus, saying, May we know what this new doctrine, whereof thou speakest, is? (Acts 17:19)
For thou bringest certain strange things to our ears: we would know therefore what these things mean. (Acts 17:20)
(For all the Athenians and strangers which were there spent their time in nothing else, but either to tell, or to hear some new thing.) (Acts 17:21)
Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. (Acts 17:22)
For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. (Acts 17:23)
God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; (Acts 17:24)
Neither is worshipped with men’s hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; (Acts 17:25)
And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; (Acts 17:26)
That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us: (Acts 17:27)
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring. (Acts 17:28)
Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device. (Acts 17:29)
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (Acts 17:30)
Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead. (Acts 17:31)
And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter. (Acts 17:32)
So Paul departed from among them. (Acts 17:33)
 Here is another Chapter labeled as the seventeenth Chapter. Remember the Side Note called Seventeen. These individuals who gathered on Mars Hill spent their time listening and discussing matters beyond ‘the common man.’ Wealth and leisure can become a fearful thing. Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. (Ezekiel 16:49)
  Those who met on Mars Hill were religious individuals. Paul called them superstitious. Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars’ hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious. (Acts 17:22) Remember that verse 16 sets the basis of the condition of Athens: they were wholly given to idolatry. That means that they were TOTALLY taken with idolatry, and idolatry is worship, and worship is a religious act. Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. This type of religious person has always been active in the world from the very beginning. Cain was a very religious person, but he can be considered more of the type of Simon than the type of the men of Athens. The men of Athens were the exact type of what we have today in academia, science, politics and organized religion. Their religion is the worship of their prowess of intellectualism. They are idolaters without the props of religion: statues attached to every surface in their vehicles, in their homes and in their yards, prayer bead counters visibly displayed to enhance their self-righteousness and piousness (But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen [do]: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking, Matthew 6:7),  humongous gold crosses dangling from their necks . . . the larger the cross the more attention they draw to themselves. (I am positive that this last statement about gold crosses will definitely trigger an interesting reaction.) I am mainly speaking of the intent of the heart that cannot distinguish between the outward and the inward expression of love for the Lord Jesus Christ. You could call our current religious scholarly sages ‘sky chickens’ for they are vultures of no worth who lord themselves over the people beneath them. They can speak about every subject with assurance and confidence. They are self-assigned authorities on issues that they deem to be of importance, but they are totally unimportant in the completion of the plan of God. Oh, yes, religious people come in every mind set. They know everything and they know nothing. They remind me of “The Emperor’s New Clothes” by Hans Christian Andersen because these men of religiousness cannot see themselves as they are seen by others: vain, exposed, foolish, and inept. For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you. (Acts 17:23)
  Satan can draw crowds just by labeling a place ‘a church’ and calling out ‘Come Worship with Us.’ Ye worship ye know not what . . . (John 4:22) It really doesn’t matter what some people worship as long as they can state that they go to a building and that they are members of a collective, and that they believe in a ‘higher power’ without a name. It doesn’t matter what book that they consider to be the word of God, it doesn’t matter what their collective is based on, and it just doesn’t matter because ALL religions and ALL belief systems are valid in their opinion. These religious individuals prefer that God remain UNKNOWN because an unknown God is not a threat to their actions.
 How did the massive religious system that surrounds us today come into being without the peoples of the earth seeing its root of evil? I believe that that this question has been answered. The answer is that people do not care about the roots of evil. They do not care about the condition of the world and the apostate church because they love it just as it is. As hearts have grown colder to the things of God, minds have apathetically atrophied.
The prophets prophesy falsely, and the priests bear rule by their means; and my people love [to have it] so: and what will ye do in the end thereof? (Jeremiah 5:31)Â Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. (Jeremiah 14:14) . . . and my people love [to have it] so.
 The apostate church loves their heresies; the religious man loves his self-righteous hypocrisy, the intellectual loves his ignorance, and Satan basks in their heresy and ignorance of Christianity. I will always repeat this: Christianity is NOT a religion. Christianity is revelation, regeneration and relationship. God through Christ reveals Himself and draws His new- born-again creatures into a love relationship with Him. THAT IS CHRISTIANITY. Religion is man betting his eternal existence on the acceptability of his ‘good’ works alone.

Into the Wilderness
  Where did the Spirit of God take the apostle John to see this vision? So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17:3) Where does sin flourish? In the wilderness. To understand the great whore, the woman, the scarlet beast, and the beginning of the mystery of Babylon it is necessary to travel through thousands of years as Lucifer/Satan built his great empire known as BABYLON THE GREAT from the evil heart of one man to infect many nations. And from that one man, Lucifer/Satan formed evil within another man to infect one particular nation, and to splinter that baby nation with one goal: to destroy that baby nation, Israel. Until at the end of time, mankind is so entangled in his sin, and unable to see who weaves the spider’s web of lies, confusion, distraction and chaos that the only means to escape reality is to flee into the wilderness of insanity and madness. What began at Babel under Nimrod has become a tangled ball of thousands of years of physical, material and spiritual chaos: and man today is totally lost in the weeds of sin and in the wilderness of sin. Yes, in order to understand the vision of John in Revelation Chapter 17, one must begin in the wilderness: the wilderness of sin. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman . . . . this is the last mention of wilderness in the Bible.

The Woman as Mother and Queen Sitting
 Jezebel is presented in scripture as the role model of BABYLON THE GREAT. Why is she sitting? She is represented sitting because her work is finished, she has accomplished her assigned mission. Her mission is to corrupt everything that is of God. This woman SITS in her female role as a MOTHER and as a QUEEN. (I will again remind you that Mystery, Babylon the Great is a global religious system.) As a type of idolatry in the sphere of religion, Jezebel exemplified the female role of motherhood and of royalty. Satan chose to distract the peoples of this world through the perceived role of a nurturing motherhood of love and care, and through royalty this mother symbol could be seen as the figure of authority, sovereignty and knowledge. Therefore, Satan used a woman figure in the role of mother and royalty to first capture silly women in order to then capture husbands, and finally to take control over the children. This royal motherhood figure has served Satan well spiritually throughout man’s time. Practically every religious cult has had or has the mother-child theme that is central to attracting silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts. (2nd Timothy 3:6) Generation after generation (through centuries and centuries) have been overcome by this mother-child theme, also known as the royal motherhood figure in Rome’s Mariology. Scores of generations from other cultures have also been overcome with a mother-child worship system, and even in the fantasies of mythology this royal motherhood exists. How could this happen to mankind BEFORE the existence of Christianity? Just because an idea, or a tangible entity is labeled as ‘the oldest,’ or ‘ the first’ does not necessary bind it to the authority of truth. Just because the worship of a royal mother-child idea existed BEFORE Christianity does not give it any value or worth. How did this all begin and why? The worship of the creature instead of the worship of the Creator began through the instigation of Satan. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 1:25) Since the beginning of the Age of the Rebel, Cain, worship has had many objects to worship. But how did Satan know that the royal mother-child idea would play well in the hearts of women? Through Jeremiah Chapter 7, verse 18, there is the involvement of a family in the worship of a stone deity called the queen of heaven. The fathers kindle the fire and the children gather wood but it is the women who knead [their] dough, and make cakes to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings unto other gods. This describes a family unit working together in the ceremonial worship of the queen of heaven.
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead [their] dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
  Yet the central force of this idolatrous family is the woman. But again, I ask this question, How did Satan know to use the woman to carry out his plan to form a counterfeit worship theme? When the old serpent surveyed the first two inhabitants of this planet, he saw that the woman was the lesser of the two (in the sense of being a follower to the male). Thus, he engaged her first in conversation to try her loyalty to God, and her ability to defend against the darts of doubt. Would she be able to stand against his wiles? Would she be able to understand that her position was neither to defend, nor to engage, for she was a help mate, not the Federal Head of this new world? (Like many women today who do not understand their position and state.) Eve did not acquiesce to the assigned authority over that world, her mate Adam. She was to help her mate, to support him, to aid him and to encourage him: her position was not to replace him, nor to make decisions beyond her responsibility and authority. You know the result, and the consequences of her impulsive decision. From that dreadful moment, women have not only suffered the consequences of that decision, but they have also become the perpetrators of their own sufferings. Satan has since used female imagery and female imaginations as one of his many weapons of war against mankind and against God. The role of MOTHERHOOD and the role of QUEEN plays fittingly into Satan’s warfare. The role of motherhood also suits many women as long as it is convenient, and the role of queen definitely suits many women especially those who are of the basest of humanity. The baser the more they assume the role of royalty.
How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. (Revelation 18:7)
Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: [there is] no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. (Isaiah 47:1)
Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called, The lady of kingdoms. (Isaiah 47:5)
Therefore hear now this, [thou that art] given to pleasures, that dwellest carelessly, that sayest in thine heart, I [am], and none else beside me; I shall not sit [as] a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children:Â (Isaiah 47:8)
  Satan does not have foreknowledge. Always turn to the beginning. Why did Lucifer go to war with God? Lucifer went to war with God because he hated the Godhead. Satan’s battle stems from a four-prong hatred; consequently, his goal is to overthrow God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and lastly to overthrow the word from God: the decrees of God, the law of God, and the determinate counsels of God. Everything that Satan does is based on the destruction of the Godhead bodily. Satan’s plan is to substitute God the Father with an earthly man called ‘holy father, ‘ ‘Pope,’ and to substitute Fatherhood with motherhood in Mariology. Through Mariology we have female-hood substituted for the Sonship of Christ. Also through the worship of a female we see the denial and rejection of Christ as the Son of God, and through this female falsely called ‘the mother of God’ she is presented as greater than God. In the book of Hebrews Chapter 7, verses 1- 4, we have the priest of the most high God by the name of Melchisedec who King of righteousness and King of Peace is. This is Christ in His office of Priest of the most high God. In verse 3, Melchisedec was without father and mother, without descent . . . made like unto the Son of God: Christ. For Christ, during His earthly manifestation as the express image of God, was also without father and mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life because GOD has no father and mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life. There is no such entity as the mother of God.
For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;Â (Hebrews 7:1)To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; (Hebrews 7:2) Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually. (Hebrews 7:3) Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils. (Hebrews 7:4)
  Mary was chosen of God from among young women in Israel to serve His purpose to bring forth ‘that holy thing‘ sent from heaven above. She knew that she was not holy, she knew that she was not divine nor deity for she referred to herself as His handmaiden, and that God was her Savior because she was a sinner in need of a Savior. Christ NEVER called God His Savior for He had no need for a Savior as He was and IS GOD THE SAVIOR. Holy was His name and His alone. Although used mightily by God, Mary was aware of her proper place and standing before her Savior God.
And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, (Luke 1:46) And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. (Luke 1:47) For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. (Luke 1:48) For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. (Luke 1:49)
 Mariology also denies the Holy Spirit of God because this royal motherhood figure becomes the outward spiritual image of God. The whole facet of false spiritual MOTHERHOOD, not merely the mother-child theme, has been formed to destroy the Godhead. Here is the sum of Satan’s battle plan: remove Fatherhood, remove Sonship, remove the active force of the Holy Spirit . . . destroy the Godhead bodily.
  Satan’s rage against Melchisedec, the High Priest of God, extended beyond the Priesthood because his rage also became focused on the essence of the Godhead: Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Therefore, we have And upon her forehead [was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. (Revelation 17:5) Although in the supernatural spiritual realm of God’s sphere there is no male or female for all there are all one in Christ Jesus. This verse in Galatians 3:28 is applied first to the new man in Christ through the new birth while on the earth, but it also has a secondary application (secondary to concept but not secondary in importance) for it also applies to the spiritual realm of God’s supernatural sphere. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
  Hopefully you may see the importance of how this rage of Satan against the Godhead bodily threatens the stability of mankind on earth today. For Satan’s frenzied fury against manhood is the result of his insane hatred against God’s order meaning that God’s governmental order, God’s laws, and God’s creation of male and female is the battle ground. The attack to confuse the differences between male and female is not a current assault but is a planned aggressive maneuver against God’s natural order. Do you think that the attack today against MAN as male is merely a political fluke? To remove maleness from the earth is a strategic act of war against man and God. Man is NOT a victim caught between two forces, but man is a combatant in the WAR waged by Lucifer/Satan. Remember the principle: all things are first revealed spiritually then it is manifested in the tangible realm. Satan’s three-part attempted overthrow of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit not only began in the spiritual realm, but it has flowed down into the tangible world, our world, and even into God’s creation of the species of man. But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. (Mark 10:6) This is the reason for the insanity of the war against man and against female today. Everyone who embraces the lie of misplaced sexual identity, or that any human being can become something other than what he was born, has slipped into the ‘shape-shifters’ world of imagination and fantasy. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5)
 Every problem that the world is confronted with today has its roots in the rebellion of Lucifer. Every solution to every problem that man is chained to can be understood through the Bible. The cure for all problems is in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Creator God. Every Christian has the availability to the cures of all spiritual sickness, and yet, many who profess Christ prefer to deal only with the symptoms and not the sickness of sin itself. The greatest tragedy of mankind is their stubborn refusal to REPENT considering that stubborness is a virtue.
 Read the following section of Jeremiah 44:15. Read it as much more than history. Look at this as prophecy, the prophecy of a world overwhelmed with its religious worship of a satanic deity. . . .
Then all the men which knew that their wives had burned incense unto other gods, and all the women that stood by, a great multitude, even all the people that dwelt in the land of Egypt, in Pathros, answered Jeremiah, saying, (Jeremiah 44:15)Â
As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee. (Jeremiah 44:16)Â
But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for [then] had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil. (Jeremiah 44:17)Â
But since we left off to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, we have wanted all [things], and have been consumed by the sword and by the famine. (Jeremiah 44:18)Â
And when we burned incense to the queen of heaven, and poured out drink offerings unto her, did we make her cakes to worship her, and pour out drink offerings unto her, without our men? (Jeremiah 44:19)

Moreover Jeremiah said unto all the people, and to all the women, Hear the word of the LORD, all Judah that are in the land of Egypt:Â (Jeremiah 44:24)
  Notice and to all the women . . . Jeremiah singled women out as the perpetrators of this queen of heaven worship cult.Â
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, saying; Ye and your wives have both spoken with your mouths, and fulfilled with your hand, saying, We will surely perform our vows that we have vowed, to burn incense to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her: ye will surely accomplish your vows, and surely perform your vows. (Jeremiah 44:25)
  Being a woman, I write the truth that within Eve blossomed forth cunning stubbornness fed by narcissism. Isaiah 3:12 perfectly describes our current age, [As for] my people, children [are] their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause [thee] to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

The Mother of Harlots
That Great City
 The MOTHER and QUEENLY Church, the sole soul care giver and keeper of the souls of men are exemplified in the Jezebel character of the priestess of a pagan cult: Baal worship. Chapter 47, verses 5 – 10 describes BABYLON THE GREAT of Revelation 18:7, How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. BABYLON THE GREAT is called THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS because she gave birth to every form of worship system imaginable: Quasi-Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, sub cults, paganism, humanism, intellectualism, atheism, and Satanism. Who is the MOTHER OF HARLOTS? Scripture is clear on her character, her mission, and her identity. Revelation 17:18 informs us that this MOTHER OF HARLOTS is THAT GREAT CITY: And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. There have been many great cities on the earth, so which city could this refer to? The phrase that great city is a fascinating theme.
  Seven (7) times this phrase that great city is recorded in the book of the Revelation; however, six times it refers distinctly to Babylon: 14:8; 17:18; 18:10. 16. 19. 21. The last mention and the seventh time is recorded in Revelation 21:10, And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. Satan planted his city on earth to serve him as his worship center, as a counterfeit to what God has in the heavenly realm called the holy Jerusalem. Imitation and counterfeiting are Satan’s primary distraction and controlling points over his followers. Jerusalem has always been the place where Satan has desired to place his worship center. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (2nd Thessalonians 2:3) Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (2nd Thessalonians 2:4) Although this is Satan’s goal, and his goal will be accomplished through his man called The Beast, it is still in the future at this point in time. Much will take place before the moment when The Beast goes into the Temple of God in Jerusalem and sits on his imitation throne of religious power when he breaks his seven-year treaty with Israel after three and a half years into the treaty. Therefore, let us put the city of Jerusalem aside for now. Satan has operated from many cities for thousands and thousands of years. Babel in Shinar in the territory of Babylon was the first bible-recorded city under a confederation of universal control of one man, Nimrod. Let us follow the phrase that great city and allow scripture to lead.
—– THAT GREATÂ CITY —–
 The words that great city are recorded three times in the Old Testament as it relates to the city of Nineveh. (Jonah 1:2; 3:2 and 4:11). Nineveh was also built by the same man who built Babel: Nimrod. (Genesis Chapter 10) And from the root of Nimrod sprang many great cities in Assyria. These cities of enormous wealth and power have been covered over by the sands of time and are no more. The name of Nineveh has interesting roots: ‘the dwelling of Ninus,’ and ‘offspring of ease,’ and ‘offspring abiding.’ Offspring of whom? Nineveh was an offspring of Nimrod. Nimrod was an offspring of Cush and Cush was an offspring of Ham (a son of Noah), and from Ham whose name means ‘enraged,’ ‘tumult,’ ‘swarthy,’ ‘hot,’ sprang forth giants in the earth and nations such as Egypt in the land of Ham. Do you see a connection to MOTHER OF HARLOTS here? As a city, a system and an empire (BABYLON THE GREAT) was called a MOTHER, so therefore, we could also say that Nineveh was the offspring of another form of motherhood, the birth of a city of rage and tumult was the offspring of ease (fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness) and the ‘offspring abiding’ (a continual and enduring) through a city became an abiding, and an enduring system of evil and wickedness. (Ninus is a study of immense depth into mythology that I refuse to cover here because it will lead us into areas that can consume valuable time and limited energy: two elements that I am short on being time and energy.) But the MOTHER OF HARLOTS has given birth to many children since the Lord placed a mark on Cain and he went out from the presence of the Lord into the land of Nod. Although it was Nineveh that was the only city in the Old Testament called THAT GREAT CITY it was labeled that to show us whom it sprang from: Nimrod. The great city of the Old Testament (Nineveh) is NOT that great city mentioned in Revelation Chapter 17.
  There is a key to the identity of this great city that is buried within the seven times it is recorded in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Revelation 14:8; 17:18; 18:10, 16, 19. 21; Revelation 21:10. (This is one of the many reasons that I use the King James Bible because in all of the other books labeled Bibles, it is impossible to follow a theme, or words, or phrases through the Law of First Mention that allows the Spirit of God to show the depth of the supernatural within the spiritual framework of His word.) Read the following six references with an inquisitive mind that asks, Why are these particular descriptions of that great city related to Babylon? And why is it documented six (times)? And why does the seventh mention in Revelation 21:10 of that great city refers to the celestial holy Jerusalem? And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. Coincidence? Hardly! (If your Bible cannot follow themes, or words, or phrases, or numbers through The Law of First Mention then I suggest that you use your bible as a door stop; for that is just what it does, it STOPS the Spirit of Christ (the Door) from revealing the beauties within His word.)

• And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls! (Revelation 18:16)
• And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. (Revelation 18:19)
• And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.(Revelation 18:21)
  This particular city ruled over the kings of the earth. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. One city with a power that was greater than the power of kings, Caesars, monarchs, and tyrants. The age of the reign is seen in the word used reigneth, meaning that this city has a long continuous history of power that superseded and supplanted the kings of the earth. With the words the kings of the earth we have national interests strengthened by military forces, and the kings of the earth informs us of not merely only MANY kings, but through the AGES of MANY kings, this one city had a strength beyond the national military governing bodies of power. This city had to be a mighty stronghold over the souls of men. Revelation 18:13. (Just for a smile, read Revelation18:13 and then read its mirror image 13:18.) How did that great city reign over the kings of the earth? It reigned over the kings of the earth because it reigned over the souls of the kings of the earth. How did that great city come to the position of owning the souls of the kings of the earth? The word souls denote a spiritual element versus a material element. How are wars won? Wars are won by first winning a skirmish, then being successful one battle after another battle: one by one until there are no more battles to win. That is how Satan overcame the nations of the earth. First, he won the battle of the mind, then the battle over the flesh, then the battle over the spirit of man, and finally the battle over man’s soul. And what city today lays claim to rule over the souls of man? I can think of two cities: Mecca and Rome. Just the description of this city in Revelation Chapter 18 removes Mecca as that great city. Babylon in the Old Testament was not Mecca; therefore, we are left with Rome is the great city of Babylon. (Mecca (Islam) and Rome (Quasi Christianity) have in the past and in the current atmosphere come together many times to strengthen their power. Do not think for a moment that these two religions do not have many points of commonality through which they can together become a powerful united front.)
  Where is the proof, and how does this lead to identifying that great city? Again, let scripture pave the yellow brick road. And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. (Revelation 14:8) That great city incurred the wrath of God which leads to a concept that is rejected by the people of the world: that God can HATE. God’s wrath is God’s righteous hatred fueled by man’s sin. Let’s follow one of the fires that fueled God’s hate. The book of Revelation documents God’s hatred for two things: the deeds of the Nicolaitans, and the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. (Revelation 2:6) So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate. (Revelation 2:15)
  Who were these Nicolaitans, what was their deeds, what was their doctrine, and how did they originate? The meaning of the name ‘Nicolaitans’ comes from the word ‘Nikos,’ and we also have the name ‘Nicolas.’ Under this umbrella we have the meaning of Nikos or Nicholas — ‘conqueror of the people (as a whole),’ or ‘conqueror of (what is of) the people.’ Through Scripture we know that possibly at in the early formative stage of church history a young proselyte from Antioch (city in Turkey) was chosen among six other men to serve the church. And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch: (Acts 6:5) The Holy Spirit singles out Nicholas from the others as a recent convert from Antioch.   And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. (Revelation 14:8) Fornication takes in both adultery and consensual sexual intercourse between two individuals not married to each other. Therefore, spiritual fornication is both disobedience to the Law of God, and betrayal to God. God the Holy Spirit is the perfect wordsmith because the word fornication perfectly describes those who forgot God and cast Him behind their backs trespassing against God and His Law and are seen as spiritual lewdness and whoredoms. Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Because thou hast forgotten me, and cast me behind thy back, therefore bear thou also thy lewdness and thy whoredoms. (Ezekiel 23:35) Through Jeremiah 3:14 we understand that God created Israel to be His and His alone as in a husband-and-wife relationship. Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion. Verse 32 of Chapter 31 from the same book of Jeremiah, God said, I was an husband unto them. Here are adultery and the betrayal against the love and care of the Almighty God. Israel was the ONLY nation from all nations to be chosen of God as married to God, and they were unfaithful to Him and betrayed Him. Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD. Through types God spoke of Israel not only as a wife, but also as a son. When Israel [was] a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt. (Hosea 11:1) And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn. (Exodus 4:22) Betrayed (through symbolism) by a son, and (through type) as a wife, and foreshadowed as a nation in their greatest rejection of their Messiah when they cried, Crucify him, crucify him; yet God’s love for His firstborn son (Israel), and His wife (Israel) and His nation (Israel) cannot be measured by mankind. God’s great unfathomable love is unveiled through the following words. But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. (Jeremiah 31:33)
And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. (Hosea 2:19) I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD. (Hosea 2:20)

AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
And upon her forehead [was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. (Revelation 17:5)
  And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. (Revelation 14:8) THAT GREAT CITY made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. That great city is neither the ancient city of Nineveh revised nor renewed. However, Nineveh is the key to that great and last city that sprang from the first hunter of the souls of men signifying that this city of Babylon will be a hunter for the souls of men. There is an important principle in play here: the spiritual application precedes the material application. It is through the spiritual first that the material realm can be understood. The principle: all things are first revealed spiritually then it is manifested in the tangible realm. BABYLON THE GREAT is much more than a particular city. It is a religious system of universal proportion. Scripture speaks of a city, (a spiritual city and a tangible city) to unveil the tentacles of spiritual and earthly corruption; thus, many teachers and students of the Bible have concentrated only on one actual geographical city. Some claim that it is Jerusalem because of these verses: And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth. (Revelation 18:24) And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (Revelation 11:8) There is another verse that many also connect to Jerusalem. And here [is] the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. (Revelation 17:9) And from this verse in Revelation 17:9 the search to identity the exact city of Babylon the Great through a geographical description of a city on seven mountains alone became a misdirection. However, by ignoring the principle of all things are first revealed spiritually then it is manifested in the tangible realm, Bible scholars and students have missed the mark.
 First, there is the spiritual city, and secondly there is a tangible physical visible city. Before we continue on to the spiritual city, let me state the problem when trying to identify this city of Babylon the Great through geographical points of seven mountains is that there are many cities who make the claim of being situated on seven mountains or seven hills. From Africa (Uganda, Nigeria and Cameroon) to the Americas to Europe (Rome, Moscow-Russia, Istanbul (Constantinople), to Asia (Amman-Jordan, Mecca-Saudi Arabia, Tehran-Iran, Tirumala-India) there are countless scores of cities and towns who claim the distinction of being situated on seven hills or seven mountains. (Trivia will probably be raised up again in this article because I am seeing more global connections to BABYLON THE GREAT as a religious system of universal proportion through the many cities across this globe who sit on seven mountains or seven hills as living evidence of the massiveness of religious corruption.)
  AGAIN, scripture speaks of a real material city that is destroyed in one hour and in one day: this is, I believe, Rome and not Jerusalem because this city falls and is FOREVER destroyed. Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. Thus, the total destruction of this city is clearly not Jerusalem because Jerusalem will be standing when the Messiah enters into the city. Nevertheless, Jerusalem will also experience the effect of a great earthquake when the tenth part of the city fell but not ALL the city will be destroyed.
—– THE GREAT CITYÂ —–
  There is a huge difference between THAT GREAT CITY and THE GREAT CITY. This article has already covered THAT GREAT CITY, now let us look at this phrase of THE GREAT CITY. This phrase is only documented twice in the entire Bible (King James Bible) and both in the last book of the Bible. (Revelation 11:8)
And their dead bodies [shall lie] in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. (Revelation 11:8)
And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. (Revelation 16:19)
  There is NO doubt that the great city only applies to Jerusalem. Thus, Jerusalem cannot be the Babylon that falls in one hour. Therefore, Jerusalem has been eliminated from the quest to identify the physical city called Babylon the Great, however, our quest at this point in this article is not to identify the material city, but our quest is first to follow the spiritual ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. Slowly read once more Revelation 17:5, And upon her forehead [was] a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.(Revelation 17:5) I see two plants from one evil root. This great city is THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND it also ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
 What city does God consider the huge and chief metropolis of spiritual harlotry and the total enemy of righteousness? I have no qualms in writing that it is the city of Rome. Let’s leave history to prove this point and follow history to our current age to confirm this point: that Rome is spiritual death. The city of Rome is the great whore that sits on many waters. And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: (Revelation 17:1)
Side Note: Many Waters. This two-word phrase is documented (10) times in the Old Testament and four (4) times in the New Testament and in the book of the Revelation; for a total of fourteen (14) mentions.
There is an interesting point that we should see: many waters refer to the following sources: God and His Christ, and His people Israel (at this point in time Israel is not His people, but they shall later be called His people.)Â As he saith also in Osee, I will call them my people, which were not my people; and her beloved, which was not beloved. (Romans 9:25) And it shall come to pass, [that] in the place where it was said unto them, Ye [are] not my people; there shall they be called the children of the living God. (Romans 9:26)Â
  The Law of First Mention strikes again. The first mention of many waters is documented in Numbers 24:7 as it relates to Israel, (his seed) in many waters. And Israel’s king (his king – the Messiah, the Christ) shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. Also note where this verse lives, it is found on the street of Numbers in the house of 24 (the double of 12, the twelve tribes of Israel doubly blessed) in apartment #7, God’s complete perfection. Can’t make this stuff up. He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed [shall be] in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. (Numbers 24:7)
 The last mention in Revelation 19:6 fulfills the first mention: Israel’s king (the Messiah/the Lord Jesus Christ) is heard through the voice of a great multitude and as the voice of many waters and as the voice of mighty thunderings.
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
 In the last documentation of many waters notice how the Holy Spirit of God reinforces the power of the Godhead. We see the voice three times. The sound of the voice of our Lord God is that which expresses great and mighty power. And where is this last mention found? It is found in the number 19 which represents the Law of God in the number 10 added to the judgment of God in the number 9; thus, it is God’s perfect divine order in judgment. And not just judgment on man (in the number 6) but the final judgment on the great whore Babylon.
Side Note Inside a Side Note: Also notice that the only time that the word Alleluia is recorded in the entire Bible is in Chapter 19. Four times the word Alleluia is heard praising and celebrating the sacred name of God. Four is the earth number and here in Revelation 19:1, 3, 4, and 6, it is not voices of the earth who praise the Lord our God, but it is those who were formerly of the earth who now are people in heaven who proclaim Alleluia. However, the fourth mention of Alleluia is not from those who where formerly of the earth, but Alleluia comes from a voice out of the throne saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. The nations of the earth has been judged; the Beast has been judged; the prophet of the Beast has been judged; Babylon, the great whore, has been judged; and those in heaven rejoice and praise His holy name.
And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: (Revelation 19:1)
For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. (Revelation 19:2)
And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. (Revelation 19:3)
And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia. (Revelation 19:4)
And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. (Revelation 19:5)
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. (Revelation 19:5) ♦ End of Side Note Inside a Side Note:
 We have just taken care of 5 mentions of the phrase many waters, yet there is still much more to consider. We should be in awe in how the Holy Spirit of God discloses the truth of history through the supernatural. It is necessary to repeat some very basic points in order to lay before you the Spirit’s teaching of the spiritual condition in the history of the tangible realm through just two words: many waters. In order to better understand the spiritual history, it would serve you well to read the complete chapters where these following verses are recorded.
• Numbers 24:7 He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed [shall be] in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. From the prophecy of Balaam when he prophesied of the future greatness of Israel.
• 2 Samuel 22:17 He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters; At the end of David’s life, he recounted how God delivered him from his enemies.
• Psalm 18:16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. David’s song praising God for delivering him from the hand of his enemies and from the hand of Saul before David (God’s chosen man) became king. The beginning of the nation of Israel under the chosen man of God, and the beginning of the glory days of Israel.
• Psalm 29:3 The voice of the LORD [is] upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD [is] upon many waters. David’s prophetic song of the judgment storm coming among the earth by the voice of God.
• Psalm 93:4 The LORD on high [is] mightier than the noise of many waters, [yea, than] the mighty waves of the sea. A prophetic song of the LORD’s might and majesty in His promises to Abraham to secure Israel.Â
• Song of Songs 8:7 Many waters cannot quench love, neither can the floods drown it: if [a] man would give all the substance of his house for love, it would utterly be contemned. The love of Christ prophetically described in His manifestation on earth as the Son of His love.
• Isaiah 17:13 The nations shall rush like the rushing of many waters: but [God] shall rebuke them, and they shall flee far off, and shall be chased as the chaff of the mountains before the wind, and like a rolling thing before the whirlwind. The Gentile nations are prophetically described in their attempt to annihilate the people of God: Israel.Â
• Jeremiah 51:13 O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, [and] the measure of thy covetousness. This Chapter of 64 verses deals with God’s severe judgment against Israel’s main enemy: Babylon. Babylon is documented 36 times in this one Chapter . . . (3+6=9) (3×6=18 . . . 1+8=9). No matter whether you add or multiple it always ends with JUDGMENT, I’d say that Babylon’s judgment is SURE.
• Ezekiel 19:10 ¶ Thy mother [is] like a vine in thy blood, planted by the waters: she was fruitful and full of branches by reason of many waters. This 19th Chapter is a lamentation of Israel, past, present and future. Prophetically it draws us into the future history of Israel when she will flee into the wilderness to escape from the Antichrist, the Beast, the man of sin when he sits upon his throne in Jerusalem.
• Ezekiel 43:2 And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel came from the way of the east: and his voice [was] like a noise of many waters: and the earth shined with his glory. This concludes Israel’s history as the hated nation among nations for when Christ who is the glory of the God of Israel comes from the east to take His place as Lord of lords and King of kings at His inauguration of His millennial reign on earth then Balaam’s prophecy will finally be fulfilled.
 Before we close out this side note, can you not see more about how the Spirit of God places the history of the nation of Israel almost hidden within two words (many waters). (And we haven’t even tackled the meaning behind the numbers in each of these verses.) Now tell me that the word of God is boring. Tell me that you have read all of the Bible. Tell me that there is nothing new in the word of God. Explain to me why you refuse to open the word of God. ♦ End of Side Note: Many Waters.

Mystery, Babylon the Great
The Mystery of Iniquity
  So you selected this article because you had a few free minutes to quickly browse through a simple Bible study . . .
  This is no simple verse. This mystery woman is the mystery of iniquity. For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth [will let], until he be taken out of the way. (2nd Thessalonians 2:7) In the seventh (7) verse, in Chapter 17, the mystery of the woman and the mystery of the beast that carries her is unveiled in the rest of the chapter. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17:7) The mystery of iniquity becomes a mystery to mankind because man exists in a bubble of time wrapped in a thick dark membrane of sin. Even when the Spirit of God describes the mysterious woman and the mysterious beast that carries her the opaqueness of time distorts man’s ability to comprehend the origin, the development, and the nature of iniquity itself.
  The mystery of iniquity began in the heavenly spiritual realm of the third heaven, in the inner sanctuary of God, the holy of holies, within the anointing cherub, Lucifer. Thou [wast] perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. (Ezekiel 28:15) Lucifer was the anointed cherub that covereth. And what did he cover? What did his hovering wings guard? Thou [art] the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee [so]: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.(Ezekiel 28:14) In verses 20 and 21 from the book of Exodus, the Spirit of God (through the tangible) reveals what existed in the supernatural spiritual world in the most holy place.
And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be. (Exodus 25:20)Â And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. (Exodus 25:21)
And thou shalt put the mercy seat upon the ark of the testimony in the most holy [place]. (Exodus 26:34)
  This was where iniquity was first found. This is where iniquity began, at the most holy place of a realm beyond our imagination. This is why the origin of iniquity is a mystery to mankind. As God’s government is seen as a wheel within a wheel, ever turning without end, so iniquity can also be compared to a wheel within a wheel, BUT with an end. God’s government is built on His holiness and righteousness. Satan’s government is built on his five ‘I will’s’ in Isaiah 14:13 and 14. For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Satan’s government is built on his pride and arrogance. Always remember that Lucifer/Satan FAILED to set his government in motion over the government of God in the third heaven.Â
  In order to grasp why the world we live in today is in shambles, we should look at Satan’s government attempting to imitate God’s symbolism in these wheels within a wheel. The main hub that drives and holds the smallest wheel in a system of six wheels is centered in the iniquity of Lucifer. Picture this: six wheels, each wheel becomes larger than the previous wheel until the sixth wheel begins to spin out of balance and out of control and eventually this weakened wheel shatters. Our world, our time period, is as this sixth wheel on the verge of destruction and the vast majority of the inhabitants of this earth cannot comprehend how, why or when. Everything we know is splintering: the banking system, the political system, the medical field and health care system, social structure, the family unit, even to the disintegration of the collective church . . . because nothing of this earth is stable, secure, absolute or based on truth. O my God, make them like a wheel; as the stubble before the wind. (Psalm 83:13) The Bible supplies the only knowledge that mankind desperately needs to not only comprehend the how, the why, and the when, but the WHO. It is Christ alone, the God of creation, who only can save.
  To understand why we are at this point in time, it is needful to understand that the beginning of iniquity began in a holy place, the most holy place. It all began at the point and place of worship. The corruption of worship has always been Satan’s principal strength. It worked with Adam and Eve when the old serpent said, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. (Genesis 3:4, 5) Perversion of worship has always been Lucifer’s/Satan’s strong suit. He has no trouble influencing mankind to worship as long as they do not worship God and His Christ in Spirit and in truth.
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1:21) Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:22) And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (Romans 1:23) Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: (Romans 1:24) Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 1:25)
  From the worship of animals and beasts to the worship of Bible personalities and men and women proclaimed as ‘saints’ is idolatry. The worship of Mary is idolatry. The worship of angels is idolatry. The worship of historical figures is idolatry. The worship of any graven image is idolatry no matter how that image is portrayed as being good, or godly, or holy . . . it is STILL idolatry.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of any thing] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth:Â (Exodus 20:4)Â Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God [am] a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth [generation] of them that hate me;Â (Exodus 20:5)
  The religious heart cannot distinguish the difference between idolatry and serving the living and true God. Bowing to worship any statue and partaking of the Lord’s table is unacceptable with God. It is denial and rejection of God’s word. Illusory worship has consumed the people of the world to the point of religious insanity. Whether man runs around a rock in a frenzied religious fixation or bows to a golden statue or kisses a jeweled ring or loves himself more than he loves God . . . it is all idolatry. The intent of the mystery of iniquity is to draw the world AWAY from the knowledge of the holy and to draw the world TO serve and worship BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.

1. So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17:3)
2. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: (Revelation 17:4)
3. And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. (Revelation 17:6)
4. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. (Revelation 17:7)
5. And here [is] the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. (Revelation 17:9)
6. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth. (Revelation 17:18)
