The Fourth Mention and continuation of the cities of refuge. And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjatharba, which [is] Hebron, in the mountain of Judah. (Joshua 20:7)

And on the other side Jordan by Jericho eastward, they assigned Bezer in the wilderness upon the plain out of the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead out of the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan out of the tribe of Manasseh. (Joshua 20:8)

These were the cities appointed for all the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them, that whosoever killeth any person at unawares might flee thither, and not die by the hand of the avenger of blood, until he stood before the congregation. (Joshua 20:9)

We have finally arrived at the end of this branch of study dealing with Kirjatharba, the city of Arba, the City of Four, the city of the giant, however, don’t get too excited because this little verse in Nehemiah 11:25 doesn’t exist by itself. NOOOOOOooooooo. . . . don’t tell us to read the book of Nehemiah!!!! Alrighty . . . for the extremely lazy Bible readers out there . . . just attempt to read the 11th Chapter of Nehemiah, and for those who do not have the time to do this, I will select just certain sections.

BUT before we continue on, it is necessary to place this section in Nehemiah in the proper time frame. The books of Ezra and Nehemiah are based in time after the fall of Jerusalem to the Babylonian captivity in approximately 587 B.C. (Before Christ).

Side Note: New Dating System: I refuse to use the so-called ‘new’ dating system of eliminating Christ from our calendar by re-labeling B.C. to Before Common Era and changing A.D. to Common Era.

For 70 years (according to prophecy Jeremiah 25:11; 29:10; Daniel 9:2) these Israelites lived under the hand of their captors in the land of Babylon. After 70 years many were allowed to return to their land under the leadership of Ezra, then many years later a second wave of Israelites returned to Judah and Benjamin under the stewardship of Nehemiah. The book of Nehemiah was written approximately in 446 B.C. This is quite a long time period from king David, and Joshua, and yet, we are still dealing with giants in the earth.

The Transformation and Refashioning of the Clan of Cain

The clan of Cain were a continuous active force against the people of God, and today (in different shapes, sizes, ideologies, and religions) the line of Cain continues to fight against the people of God. Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. (1 John 3:12) He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1 John 3:8) The evil seed is still among us in the form of the haters of God. As they had corrupted the earth in the age of Noah, this evil seed has corrupted the world, the nations of the world, and has infiltrated into the Church and into the very homes of the people of God.

Mankind (before the deluge) didn’t need the input of evil angels into their society through an imaginary mixing of species. Since angels cannot be described as a species, I will rephrase this: mankind did not become corrupted through a sexual intermixing with creatures, or creation, from another realm.

Side Note: That Other World. This other invisible realm consists of many different types of creatures and beasts, but these creatures are unable to multiple themselves through a reproductive system, nor can they recreate their nature through any sexual means with other creatures. The following verses give us a small glimpse into the nature of angels: they do not have a sexual nature, nor are they able to die. And Jesus answering said unto them, The children of this world marry, and are given in marriage: (Luke 20:34)

But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: (Luke 20:35)

Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection. (Luke 20:36)

Interesting to note that with all the power and strength of angels God limited them: their inability to add to their numbers, and yes — God, their Creator, could control their very existence not through what we know as death, but what the evil angels feared most, and that was being cast into ‘the deep.’ And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep. (Luke 8:31) Do I know what ‘the deep’ is? No, just in my imagination; however, the Spirit of God describes the mysteries of God in ways that our simple small minds can understand, that ‘the deep,’ and/or ‘the bottomless pit’ is a place where even angels fear.

(I really don’t care what notable biblical scholars believe, they are wrong in this point.) It is an error to believe that mankind intermixed with angels. Man doesn’t need to hang his sin on angels. There is enough sin in mankind to condemn mankind just for being what he has always been since the fall of Adam: a sinner worthy of death and the wrath of his Creator.  Although I have  written about this same error in the false teaching that  fallen angels sexually mixed with humans read and consider the following verses of what is NOT mentioned.

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, (Genesis 6:1)

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. (Genesis 6:2)

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.  (Genesis 6:3)

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. (Genesis 6:4)

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5)

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. (Genesis 6:6)

And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. (Genesis 6:7)

In this section of Scripture the word ‘man‘ is mentioned five times, and the word ‘men‘ is mentioned five times,  but  there is absolutely NO mention of angel or angels.  The number five is God’s unseen plan of grace that will be showered on Noah and on his family. They all benefited and were blessed because Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. I see this as in man (being singular as in Noah), and men (being plural as in the family of Noah.) God’s grace is boundless in His divine order in the number ten.

The experts refer to their so called vast knowledge of Hebrew to influence people to believe their deception that the word ‘giants’ really means ‘fallen ones.’ Of course, the line of Cain were the fallen ones. BUT . . . what happened to the angels who fought against God and His angels?  They were swiftly cast down to hell. They never were allowed to have any recreational time on the earth. The following verse in 2 Peter 2:4 is quite clear on this matter. For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment.  I repeat again — the species of man never NEVER EVER intermixed sexually with the fallen angels. Back to our study . . .

Cain’s abnormal size was a sign of his fallen monstrous nature of hate and murder. Physical size is no longer the sign of his evil seed, but they can be recognized by their evil acts, and by their smooth words of lies and deception: they are the giants of political and government corruption, the giants of technological control, the giants of money manipulation, the giants of the emasculation propaganda against man, the giants of fraudulent academia, the wordsmith giants, and the giants of perception persuasion. The giants of globalism are the giants of the unification scheme for a one world united behind their man, their Cain: their giant, Satan in the body of the man of sin.

From monstrous size to monstrous sin, the giants around us attempt to hide themselves as being one with us, but they deceive themselves for we have the living Word of God within us and for us, and the written Word of God in our hearts and in our minds, and in our hands. With this in mind let us venture into the last mention of Kirjatharba in Nehemiah to learn more about how our enemy infiltrates and influences the unsuspecting, and those who live side by side with the agents and ministers of Satan are willingly unaware of the spiritual warfare that is being perpetrated against them every day.

And for the villages, with their fields, [some] of the children of Judah dwelt at Kirjatharba, and [in] the villages thereof, and at Dibon, and [in] the villages thereof, and at Jekabzeel, and [in] the villages thereof, (Nehemiah 11:25)

I think that this is a good point to spring from. The last mention of Kirjatharba does not mention Hebron as in previous mentions. It is interesting to note that Kirjatharba is recorded six times in Scripture. Five times Hebron is connected to Kirjatharba (the city of the giant Arba) except the sixth and last mention. Again, six is the number of sinful man. Here in our study verse Kirjatharba boldly stands alone in the midst of Judah without the connection to Hebron. God the Holy Spirit deliberately does not include Hebron (as He did in previous verses) because without God being the center of all fellowship and communion the child of God is open to the attacks of the city of Arba. Here in Nehemiah 11:25 we read that the children of Judah dwelt at Kirjatharba, they dwelt in the city of the giant Arba, the city of Four, and they also dwelt in the villages and fields surrounding Arba’s city. They helped to sustain and support this city of Arba. The absence of the name of Hebron indicates that the children of Judah were dangerously living outside of fellowship, communion and oneness with their God. Where are you living? Where does your substance, your labor, your finances, your inheritance go? Do you support and perpetuate the corruptness within the city of the giant Arba? Where do you live? What and who do you financially support ?

Oh Where, Oh Where is Hebron?

And for the villages, with their fields, [some] of the children of Judah dwelt at Kirjatharba, and [in] the villages thereof,

Their villages and their fields supported Kirjatharba with their substance and finances; unknowingly their work, their labor, and their inheritance kept the City of the Giants (Kirjatharba – the City of Arba – the City of Four). Were there actual giants there at this particular time in the history of Israel in the days of Nehemiah? No, and Yes, there were giants there working against the rebuilding of Jerusalem and the reunification of Judah and Benjamin.

When you read the book of Nehemiah you will discover conspiracies were instigated to force Nehemiah and the workers (those who were actively rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem) to stop. The same tactics employed against those Israelites are used today against the followers of Christ. (Please note that I did not write ‘against the Church of Christ’ because it is usually the church (the false church, the church of man [Adam] ) that use these tactics against Christians.

First, they ridiculed the work of God, and the workers. (Nehemiah 2:19; 4:2,3). Then they tried discouragement: the work is small, the work is feeble, and the work will not last. (Nehemiah 4:2, 3) As more people joined in the opposition to the work of God they assumed that their loud voices would over power and discourage the people of God. (Nehemiah 4:2,7). The giants of opposition then tried the concept of compromise, and delay tactics. (Nehemiah 6:2) Next came underhanded attempts of physical harm. (Nehemiah 6:2) Threats of blackmail came next. (Nehemiah 6:7). This next attempt to stop the work of God is the one that I find is mostly used today by the giants of deception. They tried to build fear into Nehemiah to cause him to disregard the laws of God. A ‘false brethren’ was hired to give Nehemiah ungodly advice. Yes, there are those who will use ‘a form of godliness’ to hinder the work of God. (Nehemiah 6:10 – 13). The enemies of the Word of God often endeavor to turn the work away from the glory of God by falsely using the Word of God. It is in the book of Ezra that you can see one of the most successful methods that the giants of opposition used to unsuccessfully stop Ezra from building the temple.

Now when the adversaries of Judah and Benjamin heard that the children of the captivity builded the temple unto the LORD God of Israel; (Ezra 4:1)

Then they came to Zerubbabel, and to the chief of the fathers, and said unto them, Let us build with you: for we seek your God, as ye do; and we do sacrifice unto him since the days of Esarhaddon king of Assur, which brought us up hither. (Ezra 4:2)

But Zerubbabel, and Jeshua, and the rest of the chief of the fathers of Israel, said unto them, Ye have nothing to do with us to build an house unto our God; but we ourselves together will build unto the LORD God of Israel, as king Cyrus the king of Persia hath commanded us. (Ezra 4:3)

Then the people of the land weakened the hands of the people of Judah, and troubled them in building,(Ezra 4:4)

BEWARE Christian worker: look for the marionette strings of control when others want to unite with you in the work that God has given you to do. If others have the same heart to build as you are building they would already be building. God alone will supply and support your needs. If He doesn’t supply then you have two options: there is something else planned by God for you, or the work is not of God. Through prayer and separation from the world God will lead in His way, and in His work. Go forward, Christian worker, with the power of faith, and the armor of God. The giants are just merely small men with tremendous fears that their inadequacies and their sins will be revealed. They can easily be overcome and defeated by the sword of the Word of God and the power of God.

Always remember that the work of God requires two things: action and the sword. Of course, I speak of the sword as being the Word of God. The workers in the book of Nehemiah carried on with the work of rebuilding with one hand while with the other hand they held a weapon. Work and the Word go together.

And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. (Nehemiah 4:14)

They which builded on the wall, and they that bare burdens, with those that laded, every one with one of his hands wrought in the work, and with the other hand held a weapon. (Nehemiah 4:17)

For the builders, every one had his sword girded by his side, and so builded. And he that sounded the trumpet was by me. (Nehemiah 4:18)

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) (2 Corinthians 10:4)

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Ephesians 6:13)

By the word of truth, by the power of God, by the armour of righteousness on the right hand and on the left, (2 Corinthians 6:7)

Christians BEWARE! The principle in Nehemiah 11:25 is directed to all those who love God and follow His Anointed Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. Without Hebron, without oneness with your Savior, without daily communion in His Word and with His Word, you will not be able to see or to understand where you live. Living in a spiritually corrupt Kirjatharba is not the same as living in the truth of His Word and in residing in the closeness of oneness with God that is symbolized by Hebron.

The Territory of Judah in the Age of the Rebuilding Under Nehemiah

Sorry, but I am not letting you off the hook. Read the following verses (even those many strange names). Pay special attention to the sections that I bolded.

And the people blessed all the men, that willingly offered themselves to dwell at Jerusalem. (Nehemiah 11:2)

Now these are the chief of the province that dwelt in Jerusalem: but in the cities of Judah dwelt every one in his possession in their cities, to wit, Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the Nethinims, and the children of Solomon’s servants. (Nehemiah 11:3)

And the residue of Israel, of the priests, and the Levites, were in all the cities of Judah, every one in his inheritance. (Nehemiah 11:20)

And for the villages, with their fields, some of the children of Judah dwelt at Kirjatharba, and in the villages thereof, and at Dibon, and in the villages thereof, and at Jekabzeel, and in the villages thereof, (Nehemiah 11:25)

And at Jeshua, and at Moladah, and at Bethphelet, (Nehemiah 11:26)

And at Hazarshual, and at Beersheba, and in the villages thereof, (Nehemiah 11:27)

And at Ziklag, and at Mekonah, and in the villages thereof, (Nehemiah 11:28)

And at Enrimmon, and at Zareah, and at Jarmuth, (Nehemiah 11:29)

Zanoah, Adullam, and in their villages, at Lachish, and the fields thereof, at Azekah, and in the villages thereof. And they dwelt from Beersheba unto the valley of Hinnom. (Nehemiah 11:30)

Judah’s Territory

And they dwelt from Beersheba unto the valley of Hinnom. (Nehemiah 11:30)

Very interesting . . . from Beersheba unto the valley of Hinnom. This is a very significant phrase. The Spirit of God placed this phrase at the end of these verses to draw not only geographical distances, but to reveal the spiritual distances between Beersheba and the valley of Hinnom in the territory of Judah, the territory of ‘Praise.’ The name Beersheba means ‘well of the oath,’ or ‘well of seven.’ What well? What oath? The first time that the name Beersheba appears is in Genesis 21:33. It was here that God saw the distress of Hagar (the Egyptian servant to Sarah) and through the everlasting mercy of God He led her and her son Ishmael to water. It was here at Beersheba that the Philistine king Abimelech and Abraham made a covenant of peace. And Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God. (Genesis 21:33)

Beersheba did not only indicate the northern most border of Judah at the return of the Babylonian captive, but it also indicates a spiritual condition of heart: the heart of man and the heart of God. It was at Beersheba (before the well was dug) that a broken hearted Gentile Egyptian servant girl and her son was blessed by God, thus the heart of a merciful God was shown to all, Jew and Gentile. It was here at Beersheba that God brought peace to both Jew and Gentile. Beersheba ‘well of the oath’ expresses the God of the oath, God’s promises, and God’s faithfulness to His Word. It was at Beersheba when man’s heart was opened to God in despair as in Hagar, and as with Abraham troubled by the enemies of God taking away the waters of sustenance and survival that God stepped in and brought peace. When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. (Proverbs 16:7) It was here at Beersheba in the land of Judah, the land of ‘Praise’ that . . . Abraham planted a grove in Beersheba, and called there on the name of the LORD, the everlasting God. (Genesis 21:33) Beersheba was a place that began with the mercy and promises of God confirmed by an oath.

The Valley of Hinnom

And they dwelt from Beersheba unto the valley of Hinnom. (Nehemiah 11:30) At the southern border of Judah’s territory during the rebuilding of Jerusalem and Judah under Nehemiah was . . . the valley of Hinnom. It sounds so ominous! Hinnom means ‘to make self drowsy.’ This doesn’t sound very ominous, yet this is a deadly condition to live in. To be unaware of your place in God’s plan is deadly; yet, thousands upon thousands of souls daily ignore the pleas of God to consider where they are. The first question that is recorded in Scripture was to Adam when God said unto him, Where [art] thou? (Genesis 3:9) Mankind has made itself dumb and numb to God’s question of Where [art] thou? The state of Hinnom is a perfect description of our age. Lulled to sleep by the comforts and ease of life; intellectually dull, numb to oneself, sedated by drugs, morally challenged, and unaware of the uniqueness of individualism, it is no wonder that the young cannot identify with who and what they are: unique individuals created by God with purpose in life. The lowest point for mankind is unawareness of himself. He has lost himself, he no longer has a distinct identity. And all because man refuses and rejects God. It is truly a sad commentary on how far mankind has fallen into the valley of Hinnom. God’s question is still relevant . . . Where art thou?

From the oneness with God (Hebron) to Hinnom is where mankind now resides spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Yes . . . man has become blind, deaf, and dumb — he cannot read the signs around him, nor can he hear the sounds of the unborn torn apart and murdered by the one who was created to protect God’s unborn children.

The valley of Hinnom was the dreadful place of slaughter and blood. The screams of children, babies, must have resounded throughout this valley as the religious inhabitants offered their very flesh and blood to their pagan gods Baal and Moloch. Yes . . . this is the valley of slaughter. Their murderous offerings was a celebration. Instead of grieving they laughed and celebrated this evil because it was acceptable to their society. Am I hitting home? I am sick of celebrities and renown icons of popularity celebrating their abortions. Refuse their message, refuse their depraved standards, and refuse to acknowledge their very existence.

And they have built the high places of Tophet, which [is] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded [them] not, neither came it into my heart. (Jeremiah 7:31)

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that it shall no more be called Tophet, nor the valley of the son of Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall bury in Tophet, till there be no place. (Jeremiah 7:32)

Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that this place shall no more be called Tophet, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of slaughter. (Jeremiah 19:6)

And they built the high places of Baal, which [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through [the fire] unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin. (Jeremiah 32:35)

One of the spiritual lessons or principles here is that within the territory of Judah (Praise) we find these extremes in peoples, in history, and in prophecy. Here in the valley of Hinnom we see the murderous actions of evil hearts. Sometimes I tire of writing ‘evil hearts,’ but nevertheless that is what it is . . . evil hearts. It is here in the valley of Hinnom that we can fathom the depths of the sin of the clan of Cain, the giants in the earth. This is where the giants in our age has led us to . . . the valley of Hinnom.

The Valley of the Giants

The Valley of Hinnom

And the border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom unto the south side of the Jebusite; the same [is] Jerusalem: and the border went up to the top of the mountain that [lieth] before the valley of Hinnom westward, which [is] at the end of the valley of the giants northward: (Joshua 15:8)

And the border came down to the end of the mountain that [lieth] before the valley of the son of Hinnom, [and] which [is] in the valley of the giants on the north, and descended to the valley of Hinnom, to the side of Jebusi on the south, and descended to Enrogel, (Joshua 18:16)

Zanoah, Adullam, and [in] their villages, at Lachish, and the fields thereof, at Azekah, and [in] the villages thereof. And they dwelt from Beersheba unto the valley of Hinnom. (Nehemiah 11:30)

Three times the valley of Hinnom is connected to the valley of the giants, twice the valley of Hinnom and the valley of the giants is connected to Jebusi (which is Jerusalem), and once to Enrogel, ‘the fount of the spy,’ (a landmark between Benjamin and Judah, and the place where David’s spies met).

The giants of the line of Cain strategically placed themselves in areas that touched the very heart of Israel: Jerusalem. Cain’s evil spread throughout the world. From the exile of Cain into the wilderness, to the days of David, these giant men of renown had one goal and that was to destroy any semblance of godliness and faithfulness to the one true God: Jehovah. Satan’s primary earthly battle plan was to bring down the people of God and to remove them from their power source: God.

For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom:(1 Corinthians 1:22)

But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; (1 Corinthians 1:23) But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:24)

This earthly battle plan of giants in the earth was only one of many plans because Satan has a more extensive plan, and that is the plan to become god. From his master plan springs many other battle strategies: divide and conquer, murder, counterfeit, confusion, war, intermingle, transform society through financial, educational and legislative structures, remove the standard of truth — the Word of God, create diverse religions, and the invention of television and communication systems to distract, misinform, and dull the senses . . . and plan upon plan, and even the plan by which many are mesmerized by what they believe is part of their anatomy: their cell phone.

Through the course of time, the giants in the earth have aided in every strategy. One of the most successful accomplishments of our adversary was the subtle placement of false brethren, and the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, into the Church. Preachers without the authority of God dare to claim their right to rule over the house of God. Women who are strictly forbidden to teach in the worship gathering in the house of God do so with impunity. What am I getting at? The giants lived in the valley that reached to Jerusalem: the heart of Israel, and the center of God’s praise was in Jerusalem. Closer and closer the giants crept into Jerusalem, and today the giants have laid claim to the place of God’s worship. Their goal is to control the worship of God. Once they control the concept of worship then it is a minor shift to redirect worship away from the Lord Jesus Christ. But this is not forever, for God is still on His throne, and He has promised Jerusalem to His people, and God is not slack concerning His promises.

And afterward the children of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites, that dwelt in the mountain, and in the south, and in the valley. (Judges 1:9)

And the LORD was with Judah; and he drave out [the inhabitants of] the mountain; but could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron. (Judges 1:19)

How was this possible that the giants could come right up to the edge of Jerusalem as recorded in the Old Testament? The answer can be found in Judges 1:19. It was because Judah failed to destroy their enemies: the Canaanites, the giants spawned from Canaan the cursed son of Ham. (Genesis 9)

Their failure was in not having the proper means to fight. They were unable to get the iron to build chariots, however, sadly they no longer had the knowledge and the skills necessary to construct these particular chariots. For years (prior to the period of Judges, and even during this period) all that Israel possessed was seized raid after raid on their villages, towns, and cities. They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel? (Judges 5:8) This statement was made during the period of the Judges. When Israel chose new gods, and rejected Jehovah, then Israel was overcome by wars, defensive and offensive weapons were few because their enemies had stripped them of all that they had. Many years later (through the book of 1 Samuel) we see how the nation of Israel was weakened and became unable to defend itself. Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israel: for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears: (1 Samuel 13:19) This can be spiritually applied when the teachers and preachers (the smiths of the truth) are removed from the people of God, the enemy then has complete freedom to enslave their congregations. This weakness of the Church is sadly evident because their weapons have been dulled, and even removed from the hands of the people, and replaced by empty powerless rhetoric compiled and sold as another new improved bible written for the mentally and spiritually challenged seat warmer.

What happened to Israel during the times of the giants has happened to the Church. Hebron has been removed. Not only were Israel’s weapons removed, but they did not have the skills or the ability to construct more weapons. They were so busy trying to just survive that they were not led to plan an aggressive front. This should give us some insight on why many Christians fail in their spiritual battle with the giants of opposition. Maybe they are lulled into a survival mode, or maybe they are enjoying their survival mode.

Many, I feel, are unable to even climb up into a chariot. What am I saying? Preparing to battle means to plan to actual face off with your adversary. Study the Word of God. Pray over the Word of God, and prepare your heart to climb up into the chariot. Never let a single instance escape without saying something to someone about the Lord Jesus Christ. Be ready always to speak, and this comes by knowing the Word of God. It may only be a few words, but even a reply to ‘Have a good day,’ is an opportunity to tell them why you are having a good day. Having someone say to you, ‘Well, I’ll see you later’ is a great opportunity to inform them that you may not be seeing them later because you may be removed from this scene, and then tell them why you have this hope. . . . .

Let your speech [be] alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man. (Colossians 4:6)

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and [be] ready always to [give] an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: (1 Peter 3:15)

In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; (2 Timothy 2:25)

. . . because they had chariots of iron.

The giants of intimidation are held by bars of iron, they are not free, but are slaves to sin and to death. We (Christians) have been set free, therefore, climb up into their chariots of iron and take away their narrative. What ever they say against the Word of God make them prove it by the Word of God — not by opinion; what ever they say about God that is negative make them prove it by the Word of God — not by opinion. Whenever they accuse you of judging, then ask them why then do they judge you. Whenever they question your authority question their authority, climb up into their chariot and take away their lies, take away their strongholds of comfort, and in meekness and in grace direct them to the One who can set them free, the One who can comfort them in the emptiness of their soul. This is a good work, but it is only successful when led by the Spirit of God.

Some [trust] in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God. (Psalm 20:7)

Amen
