As the Days of Noe Were – Part 1 . . .

‘As the Days of Noe Were’

Part 1

(Matthew 24:36 – 17)

But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. (Matthew 24:36 – 37)

A soft and tired voice from the back seat asks, Are we there yet? The answer, Not long now, we’re almost home. In Matthew Chapters 24 and 25, the Lord finished His public ministry and then declared the prophetical end of the end times. He ministered to His disciples, and explained the things that were to come as He walked out of the temple for the last time. As His disciples discussed the grandeur of the buildings of Herod’s temple, the Lord began His long prophetical discourse regarding  the destruction of Jerusalem that not one stone would be left upon another. There are many, and broad prophecies in the gospel of Matthew Chapters 24 and 25, but we will discuss the days of Noah in relationship to the past: the actual days that led up to the flood and the judgment of God. In part ii we will discuss the actual time and reason for the prophecy when the Lord gave these prophecies to His disciples. Then in part iii we will discuss the fulfillment of these prophecies in the future in this ungodly world.

The Jews required a sign. The Greeks sought after wisdom, however, the Christian (born after the Spirit of God) seeks the truth. The reason for all the signs in the prophecy of Matthew 24 and 25 was that He was directing it to the Jewish economy and to the Jewish nation; therefore, in considering these signs we should always have the nation of Israel before us in the fulfillment of these prophecies. The conclusion of all these prophecies is that they are signs of His second coming in relationship to redeeming the nation of Israel, and setting up His kingdom; therefore, as we drift back to the past in the days of Noah, we should understand the world that was then, the society, the way of life, and the development of humanity in the children of Adam.

The Way It Was

In Noah’s day (before the flood) by the Word of God, we have a view from above. The record of this judgment of God was not given by witnesses, but was given by the very Judge who judged the world of Noah. God, Himself, declared the record and tells us about this particular phase of man in Genesis Chapter 6 verses 1-5.

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, (Genesis 6:1)

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. (Genesis 6:2)

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. (Genesis 6:3)

There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. (Genesis 6:4)

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5)

The first thing that we see are ‘the daughters of men.’ This phrase is separated from the ‘sons of God,’ for the ‘sons of God’ were from the line of Seth, and God had separated them for Himself. The genealogy is recorded from Seth to Noah in Chapter 5 of Genesis, and the last portion of the genealogy of man before the flood ends in verse 32 with a man named Noah. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (Genesis 6:8) We find that Noah as a son of God had availed himself to the grace of God for he found grace in the eyes of the Lord. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6:9) Noah was a just man made perfect by the grace of God. To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect. (Hebrews 12:23) Noah was perfect in his generation, and like Enoch, he walked with God. There was only one man left in this ungodly world that was still perfect in his generation. There was a crimson thread that led from Seth to Noah in God’s grace. Seth had been given as the seed of promise to replace Abel whom Cain murdered for Cain was of that wicked one, the devil, and of the devil’s seed.

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. (1 John 3:11)

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. (1 John 3:12)

Two Seeds

How can so many miss the two seeds in Cain and in Abel? Man fails to see the truth of Genesis 3:14-16.

And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life: (Genesis 3:14)

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel. (Genesis 3:15)

Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. (Genesis 3:16)

There are two distinct seeds proclaimed by the Lord Himself. One seed is of the devil, and this is the evil seed. The other seed is a promise to the woman (Eve) that her promised seed would destroy the works, and eventually the devil himself. God is speaking of two distinct seeds. One that would be totally against everything to do with God, and would be energized by Satan. We see this in the Lord’s day when He told the Jews, Ye are of your father, the devil, and he (the devil) was a murderer from the beginning. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44) In these two seeds we see a continuation of the seed in Cain in the days of the Lord Jesus. We also should remember that Christ and His Spirit is the true seed. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Galatians 3:16) And in this seed, which is Christ, every man and woman born from Adam must be born again by the Spirit of Christ. This is a supernatural act, and God performs this act IN and THROUGH the Seed which is Christ. This is a spiritual act of God creating a new creature in Jesus Christ, which is, apart from Adam, and apart from any human descent. It is totally of God and by God. Therefore, if the good seed (which is Christ) is the supernatural seed in the new birth, what about the children of the devil?

Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. (1 John 3:9)

In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. (1 John 3:10)

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. (1 John 3:11)

Do you see the distinction between the children of God and the children of the devil, between the good seed and the evil seed? May I make a suggestion? If a person becomes a child of God through a supernatural act of God, then what about the children of the devil? If they are children of the devil, it must come from an act of the devil in opposition to God. We do not have any other biblical proof besides the devil’s actual children, as the Lord said of the Pharisees, they were of their father, the devil. And in 1st John Chapter 3, they are the children of the devil, thus showing the devil in possession of his own children as God (through the new birth by the Spirit of Christ) has brought His children, the children of God.

The spiritual separation of the two seeds has been from the beginning in Cain and Abel. You might disagree, for the church of the world refuses to acknowledge the devil himself let alone children of the devil. The world church will not recognize that those who are born again by the Spirit of Christ have not only been brought in as children of God, but also as sons of God. Therefore, the sons of God have the good seed, which is Christ. This seed is within them in their new creation, and therefore, those who are born again cannot mix with the world with the daughters of men. In Genesis Chapter 6, the daughters of men belong to the line of Cain, and also remember that Adam and Eve had sons and daughters after the birth of Seth, but the line of Seth was not to mix with the line of Cain. The good seed was always a type of the true seed which is Christ.

Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Galatians 3:16)

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid. (1 Corinthians 6:15)

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. (1 Corinthians 6:16)

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:17)

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. (1 Corinthians 6:18)

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? (1 Corinthians 6:19)

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Corinthians 6:20)

The Distraction of the Sex Objects

To the slothful (those who will not read the Word of God) your soul is in jeopardy being ignorant of divine righteousness will not free you from the fires of hell, nor the great white throne judgment. Being ignorant of God’s divine righteousness did not free those who perished in the flood in the days of Noah. They all perished because they would not heed the words of righteousness which Noah preached. Their entire society went amuck and they lusted after the flesh with the daughters of men. The daughters of men were fair to look on. They were the sex objects of their day. They were provoking men to sin as we see today. Humanity is so stupid that he cannot see the lure of Satan in the powers of evil. Notice how the majority of women dress today. Be honest — is this not to provoke a sexual attraction? This is a disgrace to all the societies of the world. And we must put it in the proper perspective: we are in the end times. And the daughters of men still look fair. But Satan, the deceiver, is keeping the minds of men engaged in a vastness of sexual activity. Why? To keep the minds of mankind from thinking about God, and searching out the mind of God. This takes place in the street, in the marketplace, and yes, even in the Church. There are women with no shame. They continue to eat of the fruit of the tree of good and evil. They are so silly that they cannot discern between good and evil. Only by a divine awakening through the Spirit of Christ can anyone be changed, and brought into the righteousness of God. Righteousness can only be had through Jesus Christ, the true seed. And when anyone has been changed by the miracle of the new birth, they are then able to discern between good and evil. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. (Hebrews 5:14) This does not excuse anyone in Adam for all of humanity are responsible. Mankind goes into blindness willingly, then through the hardness of sin, total blindness flows into the heart, the soul, and the spirit. Darkness then becomes their habitation, and this is where he delves in his evil work, and the darkness produces more evil; thus, mankind goes deeper into the dreaded darkness. They go into the darkness hating the light. They hide themselves in the darkness waiting for the sun to go down so that they can climb out of their box and devour their victim in what mankind calls ‘the night life.’ Why do big cities seem never to sleep? Because their works are evil, and they are a habitation of evil, and in the night of their streets sin abounds. In Genesis Chapter 19, the sun was going down on the city of Sodom, and evil came out at night to devour their victims. This is an example of the cities of the world today. They increase evil, and deny good and goodness. They have sold their souls to the works of the devil.

The Thread of Crimson

Noah was a preacher of righteousness to the world that was then. We see in the genealogy of Seth a line not wavering for they called on the name of the Lord. And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD. (Genesis 4:26) And after Adam begot Seth, Adam lived eight hundred years and begat sons and daughters. These were the kin of Seth (in the flesh) but not in the spirit.

Now we, brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise. (Galatians 4:28)

But as then he that was born after the flesh persecuted him that was born after the Spirit, even so it is now. (Galatians 4:29)

God set up a distinct line of the seed of promise before the flood. This line continued all the way to Noah, and we can believe that this line was persecuted by Cain’s line, and the rest of Seth’s brethren throughout the history of humanity to the flood. A proof of this is the prophet Enoch. For Enoch prophesied of the coming of the Lord with ten thousands of His saints.

And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, (Jude 1:14)

To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him. (Jude 1:15)

These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. (Jude 1:16)

Do you think that the ungodly received the message of Enoch? For Enoch gave a message against sin, and against their unlawful deeds. Enoch exposed their unrighteousness, and warned them of the judgment of God to come. The world did not accept his prophecy, nor did they accept that they, themselves, were going to be judged because of their sin. It is recorded that even in Seth’s day, they called on the name of the Lord. Have you noticed that mankind can tolerate the word ‘God’ in a generic way, but as soon as you put a face to the word ‘God’ in Jesus Christ, all things change. The ungodly become irritated and angry with the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, consequently, you become their enemy — the enemy of their own darkness and sin. However, for the child of God, we must remember that God is rewarder of them who diligently seek Him. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)

Although we are children of faith we will have trials. All children of faith from Abel to this day, and into the future will have trials in this world. This is why God gave us (through His divine Spirit) the book of Hebrews and Chapter 11, verses 36 – 40.

And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: (Hebrews 11:36)

They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Hebrews 11:37)

(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. (Hebrews 11:38)

And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: (Hebrews 11:39)

God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. (Hebrews 11:40)

We should remember that the promise of God is one. It is a continual promise from Abel to the new heavens and the new earth wherein righteousness will dwell, and this promise is in One Seed. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (Galatians 3:16)

Now, I am going to run John 3:16 and Galatians 3:16 together in the mind of the Spirit. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten ‘Seed’ so that the world through Him (the Lord Jesus Christ the only begotten of the Father) should be saved. Do you think that the line of Seth had a life of spiritual ease? Even though they called on the name of the Lord, they had all the temptations and all the trials, and all the mockery that we have today from the haters of God. Remember that Adam did not leave the garden willfully. He was driven out by God. And I believe that Adam had a bitter taste in his mouth against God; therefore, God began with a man of faith in Abel, not Adam. In the New Testament Adam is given this place. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned. (Romans 5:12) One thing about mankind, sin determines that they are all the same, they are lost souls without God. It takes a divine movement of faith in the heart, soul, and spirit to be born again. Abel knew this, and Cain knew this, and yet, Cain hated his brother because Abel’s works were righteous. The Lord Jesus declared that the world hated Him, and consequently His disciples would experience this same hatred because the works of the ungodly soul are works of evil. This has not changed from the days of Abel, and from the days of Noah (before the flood).

The Line of Promise

The sons and daughters of Adam were not the sons of God. Only the line of Seth contained or was given the promise of God. Only out of this line could a man be born again. Why? Because it is from the spiritual seed which is IN Jesus Christ, yesterday, today, and forever. The line of Seth moved the good seed through their history to the man who was pure in His generation. You see Noah was a preacher of righteousness just as the works of Abel were righteous. This gives us a connection between these two men that they both walked by faith, and received the grace of God through Jesus Christ.

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: (1 Peter 2:21)

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; (2 Peter 2:5)

In 1st Peter we have the sufferings of Christ related to the walk of faith. Every Christian is brought into the sufferings of Christ in some way. For the forerunner, the Lord Jesus Christ, left us an example so that we should follow His path, and His footsteps through our walk of faith. These are the same footsteps that Abel walked, that Noah walked because Noah was a preacher of righteousness. The world then and the world today cannot tolerate the righteousness of God. There is an enmity in mankind against God, and it can only be removed by the Man at God’s right hand, the Lord Jesus Christ, a preacher and possessor of all divine righteousness. Was Noah mocked for his faithfulness? Yes – how do I know? Because sin has not changed, therefore, man without Christ has not changed. Today as then, they resist the preaching of righteousness, a preacher can preach many sermons, but when the path of God’s righteousness is laid out, and digs into the heart, soul, and spirit of man, when the hairs on the back of the neck are turned, and man is convicted of his sin, then there are only two paths: the righteous path to repent of their sin, and call on the name of the Lord as we found in the line of Seth, and the other path is to resist the righteousness of God, and continue in the evil path of Satan as children of their father, the devil himself. As Seth was born of the Spirit so we have a path through the line of Seth of men who were born of the Spirit of God, and as Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (Genesis 6:8)

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. (Genesis 6:9)

Just as all of Israel was not saved as we read in Romans 9 so too in the promise in the line of Seth not all the descendants, or the children of the men in the genealogy of Seth were saved. They also had sons and daughters who were not saved.

There was a crimson thread of God’s grace and mercy that flowed through the genealogy of Seth. This was the line of the promise of the One Seed which was Christ. As all of Israel was called the seed of the promise, so therefore, the ‘sons of God’ in Genesis of the line of Seth were the sons of promise, however, not all these were saved. I’m sure that when men began to call on the name of the Lord, it was like the birth of the Church in the book of Acts. However, as these people continued through history they turned away from God their Creator and embraced the works of evil and rejected the path of faith in God’s righteousness.

Not All

The names that we have in the genealogy of Seth are to show us the continual work of the Spirit of God in the hearts of men that God was faithful in His promise, and would not allow faith and grace to vanish from the face of the earth. God does not give us all the names that came from the line of Seth’s genealogy. The sons and daughters of these men were still responsible for following after God’s righteousness, however, in the days of Noah, we find that they did not follow after the Almighty God. And where did they go? We find them in Chapter 6 of Genesis. They are the notorious sons of God without faith, and without God in this world. And they took the daughters of men for they had refused the righteousness of God. And how are they tied to the daughters of men? They are tied through the flesh. For the daughters of men were fair to look upon, it was the lust of the flesh that separated them from God. As Israel, who were called the people of God, the line or men of the flesh cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Even though the line of Seth was the line of promise not all in that line were saved. And this is proven by the nation of Israel in Hebrews Chapter 3.

Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, (Hebrews 3:7)

Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: (Hebrews 3:8)

When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. (Hebrews 3:9)

Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways. (Hebrews 3:10)

So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.) (Hebrews 3:11)

Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises; (Romans 9:4)

Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 9:5)

Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: (Romans 9:6)

Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called. (Romans 9:7)

That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed. (Romans 9:8)

Now in all this, we can throw in the evil seed in the line of Cain, and we end up with trouble upon trouble, sin upon sin until you get a whole society without God in this world. So were the days of Noah, and listen to their motivation in Genesis 6:5,

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5)

An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, (Proverbs 6:18)

Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. (Isaiah 59:7)

It was the amalgamation of their hearts linked together so that their imagination ran wild in the evil works of men and the devil. And yes, there were giants in that day. (Genesis 6:4)

The mingling or merging of good and evil resulted in that all became evil. The mingling of the sons of God with the daughters of Adam, and the mixing of the evil seed of Cain brought on the destruction of the entire world of humanity except eight souls.

The New Creation — The New Creature — Another Birth — Born Again

Once again John Chapter 3 comes into play as the Lord Jesus told Nicodemus in that which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? (John 3:4)

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:6)

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:7)

The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John 3:8)

We have all kinds of stories about Nicodemus coming to the Lord at night. When the Spirit of God uses the word ‘night’ as a symbol of the darkness that Nicodemus was in. He was without God in this world. And what is greater: he was a teacher in Israel, and knew not that man must be born of the Spirit, and must be born again. Had mankind lost the knowledge of the spiritual birth that took place in Abel? God established this in the beginning of the descendants of Adam that God would call out a people for Himself, by Himself to walk by faith, in which this faith Abel took part of by being born again. But this being born by faith did not stop at Abel (after Cain murdered his brother out of hate and enmity against God) because God raised up another seed in Seth, And once again, we are talking about the divine Seed which is Christ. As Abel was born of the Spirit (Hebrews 11:4) we see the evidence of faith and works of righteousness that Abel’s brother (Cain) despised. By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh. (Hebrews 11:4) Once again, I will remind you that God did not start with Adam after the fall. He began with Abel. Abel was the first to be born of the Spirit of God. And now, we, of like faith, follow Abel’s path in being born of the Spirit of God, and of the Seed of Christ to fulfill the fullness of time, and the work that the Lord Jesus finished on the cross of Calvary.

God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect. (Hebrews 11:40)

To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, (Hebrews 12:23)

Being born again was not in the teaching of the Jews in the days of Nicodemus. They had replaced the spiritual birth with the goodness of mankind, and the traditions of men. They had turned so far from the truth that they could not understand the concept of a spiritual being separated from the flesh. The Sadducees did not believe in the new birth, for they denied the resurrection. They also denied spiritual life by denying the existence of angels. They could not understand a spiritual being separated from the flesh of Adam. And today, being born again would be totally lost if it were not for the teaching of Jesus Christ our Lord in John Chapter 3, and Paul’s teaching through the Spirit of God in Romans Chapter 8, verses 1, 5, 9, 11 and verse 14.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. (Romans 8:1)

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. (Romans 8:5)

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Romans 8:9)

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. (Romans 8:11)

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14)

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. (Psalm 51:9)

Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. (Psalm 51:10)

Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. (Psalm 51:11)

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. (Psalm 51:12)

Even David in the Psalms proclaimed the need of the new birth by the Spirit of God. It is the Spirit of God who quickens us and brings us into a relationship with God the Father, as spiritual sons.

But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (Galatians 4:4)

To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. (Galatians 4:5)

And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Galatians 4:6)

Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (Galatians 4:7)

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (Romans 8:16)

And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. (Romans 8:17)

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12)

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:13)

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. (1 John 3:1)

Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2)

And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. (1 John 3:3)

For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. (Hebrews 12:6)

If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? (Hebrews 12:7)

But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (Hebrews 12:8)

Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? (Hebrews 12:9)

Hebrews 12:9 ends in a remarkable way. We are to be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and if so, what happens — we live. We are partakers of the Spirit of Christ and we are born of His Spirit. Listen to the voice of the Spirit of God in John 1, not of blood, or the will of the flesh, or the will of man, it is only by God the Holy Spirit that WE are born into the family of God, and this Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ within us. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Romans 8:9) Don’t allow the world church to rob you of the truth by the traditions of men and what they believe. ALL men can come to the cross, but not all men walk away saved. Not all men, when they have heard the truth, repent of their sin and call on the name of the Lord.

Our birth right has joined us to Christ. We are of His Spirit, and we are joint heirs with Him. What a marvel in the kingdom of God. And to think that without the Church Age that those of the Old Testament could not be made perfect without the works of the glorious Son of God on the cross of Calvary. They enter into divine grace as we have entered in because (of the fullness of time when) God sent forth His Son, the true Seed, the Only Seed to redeem man unto Himself, and to impute His righteousness to all those who believe.

The  Realities of Today Exposed in the Shadows of the Past

Let’s return to the society in Genesis Chapter 6 . . . let us compare the wickedness of Romans 1:18-32 to the world that was then. Men stay away from these 15 verses in Romans 1 because they cannot bear the self exposure, and the comparison of the society of today with the society that was in the days of Noah.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (Romans 1:18)

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. (Romans 1:19)

For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:20)

Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1:21)

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:22)

And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (Romans 1:23)

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: (Romans 1:24)

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 1:25)

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: (Romans 1:26)

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (Romans 1:27)

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; (Romans 1:28)

Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, (Romans 1:29)

Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, (Romans 1:30)

Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: (Romans 1:31)

Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:32)

Do we not shadow this list of evil and iniquity today, and world wide? The world today is living on their evil and vain imagination just as in the days of Noah. The ancient world had become blind to their sin, yet the book of Romans in Chapter 1 exposes that same blindness exists today. Our world runs the full gamut of evil each and every day. The evil history of mankind repeats that evil history, and this exposes man to himself that he is evil and not good. Today, as in the days of Noah, the cup of iniquity is full. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (Genesis 6:5) Notice that it was only evil continually. There was no break from sin, there was no interruption from sin, there was no intermission from sin, ALL the thoughts of their vain imagination had become darkness and sin unceasingly. Therefore, let’s repeat the Lord’s words in Matthew Chapter 24, as it was in the days of Noe, and let’s add Romans 1:18-32. What a world! Full of iniquity, and what did God do?

Noah — Grace — The Number Eight

God destroyed them all — except the one man who had found grace in the eyes of the Lord — Noah! The wonder about this grace is that the family of Noah was taken in under the umbrella of Noah’s grace: Noah’s wife, his three sons (Ham, Shem, and Japheth) and their three wives; eight souls entered into the ark because one man preached righteousness and found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

Why is Noah called the eighth? He was called the eighth because Noah brought in a new beginning. The eighth day symbolizes resurrection, and the day of resurrection symbolizes the first day (and the last day) for all is complete in Jesus Christ our Lord. We would see a new day of resurrection, and it would be a new beginning for the world. And this would be solely dependent on the resurrected Man in heaven Jesus Christ.

Christ is not of Adam. He has taken of twain and made one NEW Man, this is the glorified Man (which is the true Seed) the very Spirit of Christ which is the Spirit of God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (Romans 8:9) Christ is supernatural, and He is supernatural for all your needs. He has the power of an endless life which He imparts to every child of God. You need to understand that all flesh was done away with (in Adam) by the finished work of Christ on the cross of Calvary.

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2:13)

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; (Ephesians 2:14)

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; (Ephesians 2:15)

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: (Ephesians 2:16)

The enmity that was slain was YOUR enmity. The flesh had to be taken out of the way, and this was symbolized in Noah’s day by the destruction of all flesh because they lusted after the flesh in every way. (Romans 1)

The First Recorded Society Built on Rebellion and Murder

We have a society built over thousands of years, and during the time period before the flood, they (the world that then was) began pouring in their iniquity until their cup was full, and then they were judged by God. I know in our present day that man lives mostly for today only, he doesn’t think too much about yesterday, or even what will come tomorrow because mankind is a product of the NOW. Consequently mankind believes that he is exempt from the true teaching of history, and exempt from the knowledge of the judgment of God both now and in the future. But the willful ignorance of mankind does not exempt him from his responsibility from the knowledge of God, and from the realization of his sin. (For all stand guilty before their Creator).

Look back at the last 125 years, men were riding horse back in 1893, and now look at us, man wants to go to Mars; he has already ruined the earth, now, and he wants to ruin Mars with his sin. This is the evil thinking of Cain. If we study the genealogy of Cain we will learn many lessons. In Cain’s genealogy we are made aware of a society building on sin and the beginning of sorrows. This began in the first city that Cain built and named after his son Enoch. The first city was christened by an evil man with an evil son, and it is no better today — and concerning the wife of Cain she came from the daughters of Adam and Eve. And the days of Adam after he had begotten Seth were eight hundred years: and he begat sons and daughters: (Genesis 5:4) This shows the rebellious heart of both Cain and the daughters of Adam and Eve. Cain was sentenced by God to perish in the wilderness. Cain was driven out from the presence of God by God, and from the presence and companionship of his family. He was to wander alone, separated from all to protect others from Cain’s murderous way, but we see his unrepentant determined nature of sin in Cain’s words to God.

And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear. (Genesis 4:13)

Behold, thou hast driven me out this day from the face of the earth; and from thy face shall I be hid; and I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond in the earth; and it shall come to pass, that every one that findeth me shall slay me. (Genesis 4:14)

And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him. (Genesis 4:15)

And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden. (Genesis 4:16)

And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. (Genesis 4:17)

Cain came back from the land of Nod, and took one of Adam’s daughters. Yes, he married or took his sister. As did all the male children from Adam and Eve — get real. There were only two biological parents: Adam and Eve. Therefore, their offspring had to intermingle or cohabit with either a brother or sister, thus, brothers and sisters married.

I believe that Cain was to perish without descendants, but his rebellious heart brought him back to take a wife. God had set a mark on him, yes, Cain was the first giant in the earth. And do not think that Adam and Eve, and their children did not have the full truth concerning Cain and Abel. They were aware of the mark, and they knew that they were to stay away from such a man, for Cain was under the judgment of God. What is the first principle that God gave us in Scripture in Genesis 1:3? It is the teaching or the doctrine of separation: dividing the light from the darkness. Notice that God only declares that the light is good, thus, leaving the darkness to be the evil habitation of wickedness.

As both Cain and Abel were instructed by God on how to approach God. God also would have instructed Adam and Eve and their other children (both male and female) to stay away and to flee from the giant, the evil line of Cain. With Cain we have the first man stealer. (1 Timothy 1:10) For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;. Cain, once again disobeyed the commandment of God. He was driven out from the presence of God, and from the presence of the rest of humanity, and yet, he returned and took a wife from the children of Adam and Eve. Cain was not satisfied with God’s decree against him. He was not going to remain a single individual under the judgment of God. He desired that others would share in his disgrace and judgment. Scripture records that Cain had a son named Enoch, and so that the world would remember both Cain and his son Enoch Cain built the first city recorded in Scripture, and dedicated this city to his son. And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch. (Genesis 4:17)

Cain dedicated the city to himself through his son Enoch, and thereby, establishing a testimony to the line of Cain, and through the mortality of mankind. By establishing this city Cain extended his name into history for the city would stand longer than both Cain and Enoch. The dual definition that we get in the name Enoch would be ‘dedication’ and ‘mortality.’ Once again showing the rebellious heart of Cain against the Almighty God. And now the evil line of Cain was extended into an evil genealogy.

We see this genealogy in Genesis Chapter 4 and in verse 18 where the 6th from Cain — Lamech gets our attention. And unto Enoch was born Irad: and Irad begat Mehujael: and Mehujael begat Methusael: and Methusael begat Lamech. (Genesis 4:18) In Lamech, we see the appetite for the lust of the flesh, and this brings his sin to marry two women, and to have two wives’ Adah and Zillah. (God was quite specific with Adam Eve that it should be one man and one woman united together in marriage, and therefore they would become united as one flesh). In these two women (Adah and Zillah) we see the building and the progression of man’s sin and his continued path away from the Almighty God in the deliberate disobedience to God’s rule. Lamech’s first son, Jabal, was the father of those who dwelt in tents and acquired herds. He was a nomad in his character, and this allowed Jabal to travel and to spread the evils of the doctrine of Cain. Even though he did not dwell in the cities, he was connected to the people who dwelt in these cities by his genealogy. His brother’s name was Jubal and Jubal was the father of the arts, he was a musician, and would most likely be a city dweller in the city of Enoch. By now there were probably other cities of the line of Cain.

Adah had two sons. Zillah had one son and one daughter. We see a competition between Zillah and Adah for Zillah named her only son Tubalcain honoring the name of Cain as the founder of their line. He was an instructor and artisan in brass and iron. This required a city setting where he could show his wares and produce his products of death (idols). By his name (Tubalcain) the legend of Cain was promoted through Cain’s genealogy. For the murderer Cain still lived in their memory and in their hearts. By bearing the name of Cain, Tubalcain, we see the same murderous spirit passed down to Cain’s descendants. Zillah wanted her son to be linked to the founder of their society so that Tubalcain would have a stronger position in their society over the sons of Adah; thus, in the name Tubalcain we understand that they were proud of their genealogy. This ancient pride of genealogy can be compared with many Americans who desire to trace their genealogy back to the Mayflower, Plymouth Rock, and the Pilgrims.

Side Note: It would be a good thing to study history for in it we see the ups and downs and the development of the evil heart of humanity and his evil society. If you study history make sure that you study the writings before evil self-proclaimed historians began rewriting history. Once the Bible was cast out of schools all truth including history came under the destructive hammer of man. During the ‘60’s many writers and editors began to write a new history to change the philosophy and the political structure of society throughout the world. Which has led us to a complete failed education system with no truth.

The children of Cain were proud of their founder of evil. As so today the children of Cain are also proud of their line of evil as they follow the writings of treasonous men of political renown in order to affect and change the course of nations. Their end goal is to remove God from all society, and to promote among humanity that man, himself, is a god with the rights of life and death decisions over others.

The Cainites

Tubalcain had learned his trade well. We could call him the first industrialist, and thus he would need a city. We see a society being built apart and separated from the sons of God, and separated from the other children of Adam and Eve. Was the line of Cain the first ‘elites’? I don’t know, but they surely had the character of the elites that we have today.

Now take a deep breath . . . what is the function of a city? It brings people together. It forms a convenient centralized pool of sin. And from this central pool sin then can attack a greater populace. And in the case of Cain we have the city of Enoch, and most likely there were other cities named after other men in the line of Cain. A stream of corruption began to form one by one as cities sprung up from the descendants of Cain. There is no mention of cities in the line of Seth, the line of promise. The only connection that this line would have with cities is mingling with the line of Cain, (the giants in the earth). The line of Cain had two distinct marks: one, Cain was a giant; and two, Cain was a murderer. The mark of Cain became so prevalent in that ancient world that God had to say in Genesis Chapter 6 that there were giants in the earth. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown. (Genesis 6:4)

God had given the law of separation. This law was to keep the evil seed of Cain from the genealogy and the godly seed of Seth. The children of Cain totally denied, and rebelled against God and His law of separation; therefore, the sons of God were swallowed up with the evil of Cain, and the ways of Cain.

Read Romans Chapter 9, in this chapter we see a called nation, a nation that was separated to God, and for God. They were to go into the land and destroy all — men, women, and children. Israel was not to mingle with the other nations of the world, and especially with the nations that inhabited the promised land because in those days of Moses and Joshua there were also giants in the land, the descendants of the first giant, Cain. But what about the flood? There were only eight souls who survived the flood. Where did the giants come from in the age of Moses and Joshua? One of the wives of the sons of Noah most likely was a descendant of the line of Cain, or maybe more than one wife, thus, bringing the giant gene through the flood. Only Noah was perfect in his generations. This did not apply to his sons, or the wives of his sons. For the giants, the seed of Cain, would come through the flood and inhabit the world once more. They would be a dominant force in the land of Israel. And now to the Church Age . . . .

The Evil Seed in the World Today — The Cainite Lives Today

According to 1st John, Cain’s evil seed is still in this world today. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. (1 John 3:10)

For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. (1 John 3:11)

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. (1 John 3:12)

In the Church Age we have the same separation from evil in that the Christian is to separate himself from ALL appearances of evil. This means that the heart, the soul, and the spirit must be separated from the world, and separated TO God. The big cities today control the rest of their country — and this same city-control exists all across the world. Democracy and our Constitutional Republic has been almost defeated from within by the capturing of the big cities of the United States of America by the evil heart of man, the line of evil, with the heart of Cain. Whether in the open or behind closed doors of darkness these cities control their nations through their evil ways. This control has affected society so drastically that they kill (with the heart of Cain) their own children by the millions. Leading up to the moment of the flood, all mankind denied the Almighty God except for one man. His name was Noah, and he was a preacher of righteousness. If Noah lived today he would see the same conditions as in the last days prior to the flood. We see these last days in the conditions of the souls, the hearts, and in the spirits of man. Reflect once again on Romans Chapter 1, and then add to it 2 Timothy 3:1-9, and 1st Timothy Chapter 4, verses 1 and 2.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. (2 Timothy 3:1)

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (2 Timothy 3:2)

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, (2 Timothy 3:3)

Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; (2 Timothy 3:4)

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. (2 Timothy 3:5)

For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, (2 Timothy 3:6)

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. (2 Timothy 3:7)

Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. (2 Timothy 3:8)

But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as theirs also was. (2 Timothy 3:9)

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (1 Timothy 4:1)

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;(1 Timothy 4:2)

The comparison with mankind today as we look around the world society to the last days of Noah what we find is this: that in Romans Chapter 1 and in 1st and 2nd Timothy that mankind does not change. He continues in an uncontrolled path of sin as a down hill plummet. Remember that Noah was six hundred years of age when the flood waters were upon the earth. He had watched the descent and evil of mankind for a long — long — time. We, today, only see a short span of time of this evil and how great is it? Look what has taken place over the last forty years. Man has become a wholesale murderer of his own children. He has followed the path of Romans Chapter 1, verses 18 through 32, and denies God in every way.

In all the preaching of Noah, out of the vast crowd of humanity, not one cry is heard for God’s mercy. Not one of the multitude examined themselves in the light of God’s truth. Not one denied their sin and their lust for the true ruler of that day was man’s sin. And it hasn’t changed today. When the Lord referred to Noah in the gospel of Matthew, He added that they were marrying and given in marriage. Here, once again, we have the man stealers or trading of human flesh by arranging marriages and trading daughters to the sons of God. There was also drinking, how many drunks show up at weddings today? A marriage is before the Almighty God, yet, these makes a mockery of the very act of marriage. It is a solemn occasion, for the union of the flesh can only be separated by death. Yet, in our age, marriage is not founded on the truth of God. So what happens when love dies? Hatred takes its place, and we have rampant divorce. In our present day, maybe we should have the divorce first, then the marriage. What do I mean? This is what I mean, when one man and one woman are linked together for their whole lifetime they need to divorce themselves from the world, from their friends, from their families, from material things, and begin on a foundation of God’s truth with the Lord of glory Jesus Christ. Do not allow parents, family or friends to influence or take control over your marriage.

Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. (Genesis 2:24)

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. (Ephesians 5:31)

And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? (Matthew 19:5) Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. (Matthew 19:6)

You are probably saying, Where did you come from Michael Haigh? It’s not me. It’s God’s plan and purpose which the people of the world have put aside. The Lord Himself said that Moses gave the children of Israel the writ of divorce because of the hardness of their heart. It was never approved by God. Only man declared this wickedness. And yet, man today, will still deny the truth of the life long bond of one man with one woman in marriage.

It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: (Matthew 5:31)

But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery. (Matthew 5:32)

And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also. (Jeremiah 3:8)

A widow, or a divorced woman, or profane, or an harlot, these shall he not take: but he shall take a virgin of his own people to wife. (Leviticus 21:14)

But if the priest’s daughter be a widow, or divorced, and have no child, and is returned unto her father’s house, as in her youth, she shall eat of her father’s meat: but there shall no stranger eat thereof. (Leviticus 32:13)

But every vow of a widow, and of her that is divorced, wherewith they have bound their souls, shall stand against her. (Numbers 30:9)

When a man hath taken a wife, and married her, and it come to pass that she find no favour in his eyes, because he hath found some uncleanness in her: then let him write her a bill of divorcement, and give it in her hand, and send her out of his house. (Deuteronomy 24:1)

And when she is departed out of his house, she may go and be another man’s wife. (Deuteronomy 24:2)

And if the latter husband hate her, and write her a bill of divorcement, and giveth it in her hand, and sendeth her out of his house; or if the latter husband die, which took her to be his wife; (Deuteronomy 24:3)

Thus saith the LORD, Where is the bill of your mother’s divorcement, whom I have put away? or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? Behold, for your iniquities have ye sold yourselves, and for your transgressions is your mother put away. (Isaiah 50:1)

And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away. (Mark 10:4)

And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept. (Mark 10:5)

But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. (Mark 10:6)

For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; (Mark 10:7)

And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. (Mark 10:8)

What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.(Mark 10:9)

And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. (Mark 10:10)

And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. (Mark 10:11)

And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery. (Mark 10:12)

A word to those who know what I am talking about, cherish each other every day. Men — love and respect your wife. Wives — love and respect your husband in the bonds of Christ. Together teach your children the Word of the Lord, and the ways of the Lord. You see from Cain’s genealogy that in Lamech marriage had already broken down. Cain’s genealogy began with a murderer that was driven out from the presence of God, and who stated that his punishment was too great for hin to bear. The end of the genealogy of Cain presents another murderer in Lamech. And he also cried that his punishment was too great for him to bear. Always looking to explain their sin away, and to modify their lies, and to rationalize their evil deeds, and to deny that they are murderers as was their father, the devil. So the genealogy of Cain began with murder, and the brief genealogy of Lamech ends with murder.

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. (Genesis 4:8)

And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear. (Genesis 4:13)

And Lamech said unto his wives, Adah and Zillah, Hear my voice; ye wives of Lamech, hearken unto my speech: for I have slain a man to my wounding, and a young man to my hurt. (Genesis 4:23)

If Cain shall be avenged sevenfold, truly Lamech seventy and sevenfold. (Genesis 4:24)

Has mankind changed? No. Will mankind change? No. We have the proof of this in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The last notorious man recorded in the Revelation is the man of sin, and yes, he is a murderer, and of the seed of the devil. He bares in his name the trinity of evil in the number 6 – 6 – 6. He is given over to Satan in body, soul and spirit. All his energy, all his decisions, all his murders are under the control of Satan. (Revelation 13)

Even in the day of the Lord man would not look within his evil heart. Remember, it was the very pious Jews who killed the Prince of life, and God called them murderers in Acts 5:30. The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree. Now compare the word ‘slew’ with Genesis 4:8. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. (Genesis 4:8) And also compare this with Acts 7:52, Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers: These Scriptures bring a very important point to the condemnation of the Pharisees in John Chapter 8. The Lord declared of them before His crucifixion, but knowing their evil hearts, that they were murderers, and that they were of their father, the devil, who was and is a murderer from the beginning. The Jews were the murderers of God’s Christ. They put to death (in league with Rome) the Just One on the cross of Calvary. When the man of sin gives the order to put to death the last two witnesses of God (as documented in the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ) then the shadows of the past will overlay the reality of the future. The two olive trees that will stand for truth. Both man and his sins have melted into an inseparable bond, and can only be separated by the new birth, the new creation in Jesus Christ.

Through the course of mankind, we have one continuous flow of evil and death by the hands of evil men. In Noah’s case, man had perverted himself to the point that the righteous God had to judge and destroy all flesh for mankind had not only polluted their souls, but had polluted their environment, and polluted even the beasts of the fields, so that all flesh would have to be judged. It was only one man who found grace in the eyes of the Lord, and his message of righteousness was not considered by the evil hearts of mankind. There was no repentance towards God. They had gone beyond feeling. And when God closed Noah and the other seven in the ark, it was the end of God’s final call to the inhabitants of the ancient world. For the world that was then perished, and only eight souls came through the flood. And today, this very day, could be YOUR final call. The darkness of death might be watching and waiting for you this very day. So I beseech you, by the mercies of God, repent and believe in the Person and Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. And believe me, He will handle the rest, it is a good life to know the Lord of glory. Amen.
