The Coat
Part 1
On the Front Page in the excerpt it reads, ‘The COAT that Lucifer longed for. The COAT that Satan desires.’ Remember that thought because through our study of the COAT God the Holy Spirit will draw the word COAT from the first mention to the last mention with a spiritual theme that will take us from the heavenly realm to the earthly realm and through the Old Testament and into the New Testament.

THE COAT
HEIRSHIP, SONSHIP and SACRIFICE
1. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he [was] the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of [many] colours. (Genesis 37:3)
2. And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, [his] coat of [many] colours that [was] on him; (Genesis 37:23)
3. And they took Joseph’s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood; (Genesis 37:31)
4. And they sent the coat of [many] colours, and they brought [it] to their father; and said, This have we found: know now whether it [be] thy son’s coat or no. (Genesis 37:32)
5. And he knew it, and said, [It is] my son’s coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces. (Genesis 37:33)
The Law of First Mention strikes once more through the simple word of COAT. CLICK HERE for more about the Law of First Mention. Interesting that the first mention of COAT is in Genesis Chapter 37, EIGHT times, in FIVE verses, and there is more . . . THREE times the phrase of coat of many colours is documented within Chapter 37. (Genesis 37:3, 23, 32) The word COAT suddenly becomes a word of interest, a word entwined with the numbers seven and three. (The number EIGHT: new beginning and/or resurrection, the number FIVE: GRACE.) A coincidence? . . . nothing in Scripture is there by coincidence. The Spirit of God is detail oriented, He is the Master Wordsmith. He does not play with words and numbers because EVERY word and EVERY number are used to draw the searching reader into a SEEN and UNSEEN message.
I totally comprehend why teachers and instructors of the Bible keep away from the subject of spiritual numbers in Scripture. It can be a dangerous journey into a supernatural minefield if the eye is not centered on Christ. The work of the administration of the Spirit of God is to draw hearts TO Christ and TO His work and TO His more excellent sacrifice. His purpose is to be the invisible POWER of GOD TO mankind and IN mankind reproving the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)
And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: (John 16:8)
Of sin, because they believe not on me; (John 16:9)
Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; (John 16:10)
Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. (John 16:11)
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. (John 16:12)
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for him shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (John 16:13)
He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (John 16:14)
Being the Author of Scripture, He is the Spirit of Truth comforting, refuting, admonishing, judging, promoting, guiding, guarding, girting, and teaching, thus, through Scripture, we acquire patience, comfort, hope, and truth. As He is the internal force within both mankind and the GODHEAD His purpose was first revealed to man in Genesis Chapter 1, verse 2.
First, GOD revealed HIMSELF in Genesis 1:1, In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Then God disclosed His Spirit in Genesis 1:2, And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Through Genesis 1:3, God presented THE LIGHT, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Light Bearer. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. The first three verses in Genesis Chapter 1 are centered around the Supernatural realm of God. Since we are concerned in this article with the Spirit of God, we should be aware of His purpose and His action from the very beginning . . . the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters . . . upon the face of the deep. The Spirit of God MOVES, and He actively engages the formless, emptiness of DARKNESS that is the FACE of Lucifer/Satan/ and that has taken control over our world.
How did we get from the small word COAT from its first documentation in Genesis 37 to where we are now? I don’t know! That has always amazed me, I mean, how the Spirit MOVES through words, numbers and subjects even in what I would refer to as the small word of COAT. But, as I follow His leading, I know from past journeys that the Spirit of God NEVER fails to INSTRUCT through Scripture things that are profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2nd Timothy 3:16) so that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (2nd Timothy 3:17) because, for whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope. (Romans 15:4)
Now let us push off into the unknown intertwined passage of words, numbers, and subjects. Let us begin with the first documentation of the word COAT in the first mention of the phrase the COAT of MANY COLOURS in Genesis Chapter 37, verse 3. (3 – 7 – 3)
◆
—– A COAT OF MANY COLOURS —–
● Israel loved Joseph
● God the Father Loved His Son, Jesus, the Christ
● GOD PRESENTS THE HEIR
Joseph’s coat of many colors was made specifically for Joseph by Israel. No other dare wear a garment as Joseph’s garment. There was only one heir chosen to rule over the earthly tribes of Israel and that was Joseph, the Increaser, the Adding, because through Joseph the tribe of Manasseh would be added to the eleven tribes, this increased the tribes to its final total of twelve. (Dan and Ephraim are both removed from the twelve tribes and Joseph as his son Manasseh was added).
The issue of HEIRSHIP was wrapped up in the coat of many colours. Heirship was the major reason and cause of Lucifer’s rebellion against God and against the High Priest of God, Melchisedec, who WAS and IS the Lord Jesus Christ. The WAR in heaven was about the right of HEIRSHIP and the war that began on earth was over the RIGHTS of GOD to assign heirship to whomever God designated. (The issue may appear to be the same but there is a difference). The WAR in heaven was over the POSITION of HEIRSHIP and between two totally different entities (if one can properly call God an entity). One was a created entity (Lucifer, an angel) acting on the fallacy that he had a right to HEIRSHIP versus THE CREATOR of angels. Heirship was NEVER available to or for angels. (Angels are never called sons of God in Scripture, For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (Hebrews 1:5) As angels could never die they also could never be anything else then what they were created for: to serve GOD by and through any means of His purposes and will. However, the war on earth was over the position of heirship between two common entities, two brothers from the same parental earthly root. This WAR began over the RIGHTS of GOD. Yes, God has RIGHTS!
And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD. (Genesis 4:3)
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering: (Genesis 4:4)
But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. (Genesis 4:5)
And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? (Genesis 4:6)
If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. (Genesis 4:7)
Do you see that in verse 7 that the issue of inheritance was the primary cause of Cain’s envy? The son that had the inheritance would RULE, and all others would serve at the desire of the inheritor. (Remember that in Scripture the first born was not necessarily made an heir by God. Abel was made the heir, Seth was made an heir, Jacob the second born twin of Esau was made the heir, Joseph was made the heir, and David was made an heir. The first man [is] of the earth, earthy: the second man [is] the Lord from heaven. (1st Corinthians 15:47)
The right of Heirship was the primary cause that drove Lucifer to sin and rebel against God in the heavenly realm. Although Lucifer was NEITHER son, NOR Heir, his rank was of the highest order of angels. His desire was not to serve Melchisedec, the High Priest of God, the Lord Jesus Christ, the BODILY of the GODHEAD, but through envy, Lucifer desired to be served. He thirsted for more preeminence and there was one office greater than Lucifer’s office and that was the position and title of Priest. So, since Lucifer desired the role and position of Priest how then did Lucifer believe that he could become God? This is where we, the simple, attempt to explain the complexity of the Supernatural to the natural: the GODHEAD WAS and HAS ALWAYS BEEN the eternal . . . Father, Son and Holy Ghost . . . as the Son holds the position of worship as High Priest, Melchisedec, He also IS GOD. Therefore, in Lucifer’s deviously cunning mind if he could acquire the position and title of Priest, he then would have the position of SONSHIP, and if SONSHIP then HEIRSHIP would be his, and if PRIEST and Son then GOD could be overcome . . . (Read the book of Hebrews).
Through this same method that Lucifer attempted to become God, religious men throughout millenniums and centuries have usurped God’s authority in the Church to become gods. The first attack against God has always been through religion, the priesthood. Then the next attack against God has always been the rights of Jesus Christ as the RIGHTFUL SON OF GOD and as the WORD of God. Then the next attack has always been against God Himself as SOVEREIGN, as CREATOR, as HOLY, as RIGHTEOUS, as JUDGE, and as LOVE.
Joseph’s coat of many colors became a target for hatred because it signified that Joseph was a special son, and thus, he represented a Special Son to come, a Beloved Son set apart from brothers and all others, a Son SELECTED and SENT to be the Son of Inheritance . . . the HEIR of ALL things.
● For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: (Colossians 1:16
● The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. (John 3:35)
● God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, (Hebrews 1:1)
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; (Hebrews 1:2)
Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)
Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. (Hebrews 1:4)
For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? (Hebrews 1:5)
And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. (Hebrews 1:6)
And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. (Hebrews 1:7)
But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. (Hebrews 1:8)
● But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? (Hebrews 1:13) Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation? (Hebrews 1:14)
God the Holy Spirit is not only The Master Wordsmith, but He is Originator of The Art of Storytelling. Notice how the Holy Spirit transcends time and space through two individuals: Israel and Joseph. Israel means ‘prince of God,’ ‘a soldier of God,’ ‘he shall be prince of God‘ when God changed the name of Jacob (which means ‘supplanter’) to the name of Israel. CLICK HERE for more about Jacob and Israel. (The first time that the combination names of Jacob and Israel are written together in the same sentence is in the book of Genesis 32:28 documenting the moment when Jacob wrestled with God face to face. Yes, I said ‘wrestled.’ All who are born again have at some time in their lives wrestled with God over their sin. Jacob physically wrestling with His Creator is a scene representing all of mankind wrestling with God, refusing to become in subjection to God, fighting God, resisting God, denying God’s Sovereignty.
In one way, all at birth are Supplanters. A supplanter is one who attempts to replace another, as all man (before being spiritually reborn) tries to replace what Adam lost (his glory, his position of standing and state before a righteous and holy God). Man will fight to his death to maintain the fallacy of his own godness, his own goodness, his self-righteousness, and his imagined right to rule over his actions without any interference by God.)
And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed. (Genesis 32:28) And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. (Genesis 32:29) And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved. (Genesis 32:30)
The Supernal Sovereign of Storytelling presents not merely two stories within one story, but He has laid before us MANY stories superimposed and intertwined within two totally different realms: the natural and the supernatural, and from within each complex realm He also crafted a simplified narrative by using two different men: Israel and Joseph. Are you following, or do you need an aspirin?
The numbers here should allow you to traverse what Genesis 37:3 is all about. Through the number three (3), we have the GODHEAD, and through the number seven (7) we have all things that are of divine spiritual perfection. So, therefore, and therein, and consequently, ergo . . . we have the GODHEAD surrounds ALL THINGS THAT ARE SPIRITUALLY PERFECT. They are ONE and the SAME. Now back once more to the spiritual perfection of the GODHEAD in Genesis 37:3. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he [was] the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of [many] colours.
Let us consider the spiritual realm (the Supernatural) exposed through the natural realm of two entities: Israel loved Joseph. Joseph means ‘let him add,’ ‘increaser,’ and/or ‘adding.‘ Remember that we are straddling between two different realms: the natural and the supernatural. Israel loved Joseph. ‘prince of God,’ ‘a soldier of God,‘ ‘he shall be prince of God’ loves ‘let him add,’ ‘increaser,’ and/or ‘adding.
● As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. (John 15:9)
● And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Matthew 3:17)
● Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. (Matthew 12:18)
● While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. (Matthew 17:5)
● And there came a voice from heaven, [saying], Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. (Mark 1:11)
● And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. (Mark 9:7)
● And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased. (Luke 3:22)
● And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him. (Luke 9:35)
● Then said the lord of the vineyard, What shall I do? I will send my beloved son: it may be they will reverence [him] when they see him. (Luke 20:13)
The man called Joseph is mentioned in 229 verses for a total of 248 references in the Bible. His life closely typifies the life of the Lord Jesus Christ more than any other personality in Scripture. To learn more about Joseph CLICK HERE, to follow Joseph as the Adding and the Increaser CLICK HERE.

—– A COAT OF MANY COLOURS —–
● Joseph’s Brothers Stripped Him from His Coat of Many Colours
● THE HEIR REJECTED
2. And it came to pass, when Joseph was come unto his brethren, that they stript Joseph out of his coat, [his] coat of [many] colours that [was] on him; (Genesis 37:23)
This second reference of the coat of many colours speaks of another time frame through the words, And it came to pass. It also connects us to the manifestation of Christ when He was SENT by God to earth as God’s prophet, priest and King to His people Israel; . . . when Joseph was come unto his brethren.
● He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. (John 1:10) He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (John 1:11)
● He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Isaiah 53:3)
● And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. (Matthew 27:28)
● And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him. (Matthew 27:31)
● And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. (Matthew 27:35)
During the last hours of Christ’s ordeal, there were four (4) court room scenes: the Sanhedrin (the Jewish court), illicit because not all members of the Sanhedrin were present; Pilate (then Pilate sent Christ to Herod); and Herod sent Christ back to Pilate. Christ was stripped twice. Once at the court of Pilate (Matthew 27:28) and lastly at the cross, where the Roman soldiers parted His garments.
In Genesis 37:23 we have the number 2 added to the address reference disclosing THE WITNESS of the GODHEAD and the impeccability of His Spirit connecting the past TO A future denial and rejection of Christ as the Beloved Son of God, as Joseph (the Adder and the Increaser) in Genesis Chapter 37 was also rejected by his brethren as the preferred son of Israel and the future inheritor over the twelve tribes of Israel. Joseph was stripped out of his coat; however, Christ was TWICE stripped out of His robes. Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers. (Matthew 27:27)
● And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. (Matthew 27:28)
And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! (Matthew 27:29) And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. (Matthew 27:30) And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.
● And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. (Matthew 27:35)
They first stripped Christ of His robe. In John 19:23, 24 the Spirit of God details the garments of Christ as made of four parts . . . and also [his] coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. The coat of Christ symbolized that the Wearer was the SENT SOVEREIGN from a realm above. The number four in the four parts, of course, speaks of the world, and the number five is the number of GRACE. WOW, in the Lord’s clothing, His robes, His garments was the message that through GRACE Christ bore the sin of the world onto Himself. Even the Lord’s garments disclosed His Person and His purpose.
Stripped twice clearly witnesses of man’s hatred for God. It was not enough to strip Him at the cross, but they first had to demonstrate their rejection of Christ as King . . . and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! Millenniums later mankind continues to attempt to strip the Lord of Lords and the King of Kings of His rightful place and position as Lord, as King, as Son, as Priest and as GOD.

—– A COAT OF MANY COLOURS —–
● THE COAT, THE HEIR, the GOAT and THE BLOOD
The third and last mention of the coat of many colours is documented in the 32nd verse of Chapter 37. What do you see in the addresses of the phrase of coat of many colours (37:3, 37:23 and 37:32)? Interesting number sequences:( 3 – 7 – 3); (3 – 7 – 2 – 3) and then (3 – 7 – 3 – 2). We have already covered the first sequence of 37:3, and somewhat delved into the second sequence of 37:23. Let us quickly add a thought to the final and third sequence of 37:32 . . . or you can move over this and continue on . . . otherwise, notice that the number 2 is the number of witness, testimony, or revelation . . . a testimony can be true or it can be false, therefore there can be both a positive and negative aspect of a number. However, the testimony and witness or revelation from God the Holy Spirit has always been FAITHFUL and TRUE. The number (2) two not only speaks of testimony, witness and revelation BUT it also implies the ministry of the Holy Spirit of God beginning with the second verse of Genesis 1:2 revealing the Spirit of God MOVING. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. (Hebrews 10:15)
● This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. (1st John 5:6)
● And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. (1st John 5:8)
Joseph’s brothers took Joseph’s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood and then they sent the coat of [many] colours, and they brought [it] to their father and asked whether it [be] thy son’s coat or no. There is a tremendous amount of UNSEEN spiritual undertones in verses 31 and 32. But one that reaches deep into the heart of God has to have been when He SAW the BLOOD of His Beloved Son flowing from His battered bruised Body nailed on the cursed tree. Since the issue of sin began at the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the issue of sin had to be resolved ON a tree. Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. (Isaiah 52:13) As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: (Isaiah 52:14)
When Israel saw the blood, and the coat of many colours, his heart pained greatly within him in agony unable to hold the lifeless body of his beloved son. What a treacherous act that Israel’s sons committed, not only against Joseph the son of his love, but against their father. There is no comparison of Israel’s agony with that of GOD as He watched what transpired as His created beings MURDERED the Son of His love. This travesty of mankind against the GODHEAD had been determined BECAUSE of God’s GREAT LOVE for man. God offered Himself as the beaten, bruised and battered Sacrifice to SAVE man from the result of the Law of Sin which was death. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13) God fully and completely manifested His GREAT LOVE for man and His GREAT HATRED for sin at Calvary. There at the tree at Calvary the knowledge of good and evil met together through the blood and death of Christ revealing and witnessing to God’s hatred for sin and God’s great love for man.
● I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep. (John 10:11)
● As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. (John 10:15)
● For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. (Romans 5:7) But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)
● And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. (Ephesians 5:2)
● How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)
● Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. (1st John 3:16)
● Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. (Acts 20:28)
● And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; (Revelation 5:9)
A GOAT
—– and killed a kid of the goats —–
The Holy Spirit of God again is very specific. Jacob’s ten (10) brothers didn’t kill just any goat, but it was a specific goat . . . A KID . . . A YOUNG GOAT. Again, we are to understand that this KID typified the YOUNG JOSEPH, and also a future GOAT yet to come and die. The FIRST TIME that the word kid is mentioned is in our study verse of Genesis 37:31, And they took Joseph’s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood. The Law of First Mention again drops in our laps. This first mention sets treachery, betrayal, blood, sin and a coat dipped in the blood of a kid also right in our laps from the get-go. The Law of First Mention also employs a progressive spiritual revelation to readers of the word of God. Although the theme using a kid of the goats began with the betrayal of Joseph (the Adder, the Increaser), the connection slowly builds in Scripture. God ADDS onto the phrase a kid of the goats with the words for a sin offering twenty-two (22) times. Here in the number twenty-two, we have a double witness, (God and God the Holy Spirit) witness the sin offering through the prepared Body of the more excellent sacrifice, and even more, the Holy Spirit also lays it on the twelve tribes of Israel in the 7th Chapter of the book of Numbers.
The fourth book of the Pentateuch, the book of Numbers, connects the kid of the goats to the sin offering through twelve verses. Here is a TRIPLE witness through numbers: the fourth book implies the world first, then the twelve verses are meant specifically for the twelve tribes of Israel, and finally the seventh Chapter denotes the Divine Perfection of God in ALL things: order, purpose, and will. Thus, it is God’s perfect ORDER that the sin offering of the goat is for the WORLD (the earth dwellers), and for Israel because it is God’s PURPOSE and WILL.
Seriously consider the following scriptures. God the Holy Spirit seriously considered the message within the slaughter of a young goat shedding its blood for SIN. The 23rd Chapter of Leviticus, verse 19, sets the theme and defines the sin offering and the peace offering. First, the need for an offering for SIN offering must be recognized before there can be peace with God
● Then ye shall sacrifice one kid of the goats for a sin offering, and two lambs of the first year for a sacrifice of peace offerings. (Leviticus 23:19) This verse also contains the qualifications for a sin offering: ONE KID OF THE GOATS, and the qualification for sacrifice of the peace offering: TWO LAMBS OF THE FIRST YEAR. Why two (2) lambs? Now this is that which thou shalt offer upon the altar; two lambs of the first year day by day continually. (Exodus 29:38) The one lamb thou shalt offer in the morning; and the other lamb thou shalt offer at even: (Exodus 29:39)
Then following Leviticus 23:19 the 7th Chapter of Numbers can be compared to a beating drum pounding out what GOD required.
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:16)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:22)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:28)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:34)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:40)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:46)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:52)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:58)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:64)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:70)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:76)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering: (Numbers 7:82)
Then following Numbers Chapter 7, God inserts another element connected to the one kid of the goats for a sin offering and that is the burnt offering documented six times. Just a basic reminder: the burnt offering can be viewed as God’s part or God’s involvement, His side, His agony, His heart, His intimacy with the shed blood of the sacrifice and that which was sacrificed. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. (Acts 20:28) Notice that it was GOD’s blood (through His visible manifestation in His Son, Jesus Christ) that was shed, AND also do not miss that the GODHEAD’s involvement included the Holy Ghost. How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14) Although ONE shed blood, ALL bore the pain, ALL agreed as ONE and ALL shared the shame and ALL will be ONE at the Throne of Holiness and Righteousness. And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth. (Revelation 5:6)
In the same fourth book of the Pentateuch, the one kid of the goats for a sin offering is for the CONGREGATION as an ATONEMENT and as a CONTINUAL BURNT OFFERING.
● Then it shall be, if ought be committed by ignorance without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bullock for a burnt offering, for a sweet savour unto the LORD, with his meat offering, and his drink offering, according to the manner, and one kid of the goats for a sin offering. (Numbers 15:24)
● And one kid of the goats for a sin offering unto the LORD shall be offered, beside the continual burnt offering, and his drink offering. (Numbers 28:15)
● And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you: (Numbers 29:5)
● One kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the sin offering of atonement, and the continual burnt offering, and the meat offering of it, and their drink offerings. (Numbers 29:11)
● And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering. (Numbers 29:16)
● And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, and the meat offering thereof, and their drink offerings. (Numbers 29:19)
● And one kid of the goats for a sin offering; beside the continual burnt offering, his meat offering, and his drink offering. (Numbers 29:25)
There is so much more wrapped in the word GOATS, but for now here is just one more snippet for you to consider. CLICK HERE.
One kid of the goats for a sin offering . . . ONE . . . it took ONE Supernatural man to satisfy God’s righteousness. It took ONE sacrifice for the sin of mankind to bring man to God. So, Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:28) But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; (Hebrews 10:12) All was fulfilled and completed in the fullness of God’s time, never to be repeated and never to be needed again. Christ uttered the words of accomplishment, the words of finality, and the words of victory: It is finished. Although His work on earth as the Sin Bearer was finished, the WAR continues and will continue until His COAT is completely stained with the blood of His adversaries. And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (Revelation 19:13)
● And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. (Revelation 19:11)
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. (Revelation 19:12)
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (Revelation 19:13)
● And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. (Revelation 19:15)
● And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:16)
Through the prophecy of Isaiah in Chapter 63 God discloses the future battle that unfolds in the last book of the Bible, the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ in Chapter 19.
Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. (Isaiah 63:1) Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? (Isaiah 63:2) I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. (Isaiah 63:3)
We are not through looking at the word coat. There is still much more to learn, much more to absorb and much more to rest in. There are twenty (20) verses with the word coat, but the word coat is mentioned twenty-five (25) times. We have covered the first three references of the word coat through the phrase a coat of many colours. Now we need to look only at the word coat that is found in Genesis 37:31 and verse 33. We have already covered verse 31, (And they took Joseph’s coat, and killed a kid of the goats, and dipped the coat in the blood;) so let us go on to verse 33. And he knew it, and said, [It is] my son’s coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces.

The Coat and the Evil Beast
Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams. (Genesis 37:20)
And he knew it, and said, [It is] my son’s coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces. (Genesis 37:33)
The fifth and last mention of the word coat is documented in Genesis 37:33. What began with the first mention of coat in Genesis 37:3 ends in 37:33. Alrighty, my little chickadees, did you notice the triple three’s? This verse, at first reading does not appear to agree with the message that is hidden in the spiritual numbers of its address. And he knew it, and said, [It is] my son’s coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces. (Genesis 37:33) The triple threes and the single solitary number seven is none other than the DIVINE SPIRITUAL PERFECTION of COMPLETENESS in the number seven surrounded by the triune number of three (3) in the attributes of the GODHEAD: omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence. Also, through the triune number of three HE IS God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. What a number . . . 3 – 7 – 3 – 3 . . . four digits signifying God’s message to His earth that HE IS. And yet, Genesis 37:33 is about an earthly father (Israel) cunningly tricked to erroneously believe that his beloved YOUNG son (Joseph) was slaughtered by an evil beast through fabricated evidence of a TORN coat stained with blood. What does the Holy Spirit of God want us to see in this seemingly dual message? What are the obvious issues in Genesis 37:33? The issues are: an earthly father, a presumed dead son, a cunning lie, an evil beast, and a torn bloodied coat. What are the unseen issues? The unseen issues take in both the spiritual realm and the natural realm in Genesis 37:33: the death of the HEIR (HEIRSHIP), the death of a son (SONSHIP), the LIE regarding death and the evidence of the DEATH of the HEIR. Genesis 37:33 totally revolves around the Supernatural realm of SONSHIP, HEIRSHIP and LIFE. Sonship, Heirship and life are also themes of the natural realm of Genesis 37:33. Yet, beside the MAIN ISSUES there are also other issues within Genesis 37:33, and that is the four digits: the world and those who dwell in the earth: the cunning men of lies and subterfuge and deception . . . not really lesser issues, but issues of another sphere. In addition to cunning evil lying man, the Spirit of God adds another subject an evil beast hath devoured him. This LIE was first framed by evil brothers.
And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. (Genesis 37:19) Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams. (Genesis 37:20) And Reuben heard it, and he delivered him out of their hands; and said, Let us not kill him. (Genesis 37:21)
Within this lie of an evil beast is another lie that the heir was devoured. Lie upon lie is the inherent nature of mankind. Joseph, the earthly heir, was not devoured as Christ the HEIR of all things was also NOT devoured in death. The lies continue, the HEIR is dead . . . and there is no eternal life or life everlasting for mankind . . . and the only life for man is the physical natural life of birth and death without hope.
● Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)
● And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. (Revelation 21:6)
● And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any [man] pluck them out of my hand. (John 10:28)
● For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 6:23)
Joseph’s brothers hated his dreams . . . And they said one to another, Behold, this dreamer cometh. (Genesis 37:19) Come now therefore, and let us slay him, and cast him into some pit, and we will say, Some evil beast hath devoured him: and we shall see what will become of his dreams. (Genesis 37:20) However, they were the true dreamers because they dreamed that their sins would never be found out.
Behind the lie of an evil beast is the truth that there IS AN EVIL BEAST. The true BEAST hides behind the lie that there is NO evil beast. The LIE that Joseph’s brothers dreamt up of an evil beast was dreamt up in their minds and hearts by the Beast himself, Satan. Now, here is the great dreamer himself. (I know from personal experience that I will pay dearly for writing these words.) Lucifer/Satan dreamed of sonship, heirship, kingship, and being the highest of the highs in worship and through worship, the high priest of the highest. Lucifer was the original dreamer of grandeur and godhood lusting for what he could never achieve . . . to be God. Men desire to be as gods, however, Satan reaches for the highest branch in the tree and that is to be God. CLICK HERE for more about Lucifer’s dreams of godhood.
It may appear to those not familiar with the word of God that Lucifer/Satan is omniscient, but he definitely is limited in all three areas of the attributes of God. Satan is not only a delusional dreamer but add to this fact that he refuses to accept his sure end and the end of the man that he has placed all his dreams on, the man of sin, the man after his own narcissistic heart known as The Beast. Joseph was NOT devoured by an evil beast. Christ was NOT devoured by the evil beast Satan but guess who will yet be devoured by his own dreams.
The following prophecies are chronologically separated by millenniums and a time far beyond our current system of dating. First, The Beast and the false prophet are removed forever, so much for Satan’s men of political wisdom and religious charm. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. (Revelation 19:20) Then Satan is removed for a thousand years . . . where is Satan’s omniscience then? And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, (Revelation 20:2) And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season. (Revelation 20:3) After a thousand years, Satan will again deny reality that he can return to the entity that he once was which was the epitome of beauty and wisdom. Instead of beauty he became a beast and instead of wisdom he embraced folly.
The dreamer of dreams of godhood reads Scripture. He KNOWS his destiny. As the angel Lucifer knew THEN, in the heavenly sphere, as he was cast out of the heavens, that his destiny was a sure reality and not an achievable dream of greatness. And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. (Revelation 20:10) Lucifer was a dreamer, a rogue angel set upon achieving his dreams of godhood, and herein is the most dangerous element within Lucifer . . . he is insane. The terror of the universe is a rogue rampaging villainous insane angel. Insanity formed Satan and insanity still controls him. As insanity is the last age of man’s existence, it is also the last stage of Satan’s rage.
As Genesis 37:33 discloses an evil beast and evil brethren and an evil world, remember that we (Christians) should not fear that an evil beast roams our world for the hidden message within Genesis 37:33 is that we are upheld by God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost and the GODHEAD of perfection. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. (Romans 8:37) For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, (Romans 8:38) Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:39)
And he knew it, and said, [It is] my son’s coat; an evil beast hath devoured him; Joseph is without doubt rent in pieces. Now maybe we can see the dual message within Genesis 37:33. Consider Revelation 17:17, For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. The message within 37:33 is that the triple threes and the single solitary number seven is none other than the DIVINE SPIRITUAL PERFECTION of COMPLETENESS in the number seven surrounded by the triune number of three (3) in the attributes of the GODHEAD: omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence and the GODHEAD of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. Since GOD is eternally PERFECT in omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence He has the POWER to place into the hearts of man to fulfill His will that His will IS FULFILLED, and the words of God shall be fulfilled.
Just to remind you where we have been in Scripture: we have covered the first five references of the word coat through in the book of Genesis Chapter 37.
More to go, aren’t you excited? I josh. It’s acceptable to have a sense of humor because God definitely has a great sense of humor. Sometimes, Scripture can be viewed as a Trailer Teaser. God the Holy Spirit places a word or phrase into a setting to generate our curiosity. Then He gently takes our minds and spirits into fresh fields of the UNSEEN. The word COAT is just the beginning of another spiritual voyage. Therefore, as a Trailer Teaser, I present the next references of the word coat in part 2 of COAT.
7. And thou shalt embroider the coat of fine linen, and thou shalt make the mitre [of] fine linen, and thou shalt make the girdle [of] needlework. (Exodus 28:39
8. And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod: (Exodus 29:5)
9. And he put upon him the coat, and girded him with the girdle, and clothed him with the robe, and put the ephod upon him, and he girded him with the curious girdle of the ephod, and bound [it] unto him therewith. (Leviticus 8:7)
10. He shall put on the holy linen coat, and he shall have the linen breeches upon his flesh, and shall be girded with a linen girdle, and with the linen mitre shall he be attired: these [are] holy garments; therefore shall he wash his flesh in water, and [so] put them on. (Leviticus 16:4)
