Part 4
The Daughter of Babylon
What did you miss in the previous articles on The Daughter of Babylon? LOTS OF STUFF! For those of you who have memory issues, to be honest, you’re not alone. We are studying the five documentations of the phrase daughter of Babylon.
1. O daughter of Babylon, who art to be destroyed; happy [shall he be], that rewardeth thee as thou hast served us. (Psalm 137:8) 2. Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: [there is] no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate. (Isaiah 47:1) 3. They shall hold the bow and the lance: they [are] cruel, and will not shew mercy: their voice shall roar like the sea, and they shall ride upon horses, [every one] put in array, like a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Babylon. (Jeremiah 50:42) 4. For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon [is] like a threshingfloor, [it is] time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come. (Jeremiah 51:33) 5. Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest [with] the daughter of Babylon. (Zechariah 2:7)
As the Living WORD of God (the Lord Jesus Christ) is both timeless and endless, He is also The Written Word, timeless and endless. He is not only the Author of the oracles of God, but HE IS ALSO THE EXPRESS DIVINE ORACLE OF GOD.
● In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
● And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (Revelation 19:13)
It is needless to emphasize that there is NO END to Scripture. No matter how often a preacher preaches on a single theme or a writer writes on a single theme in Scripture, there is always much more that can be preached, and much more that can be written. And having previously written on the fourth and fifth mention of the daughter of Babylon there is still much more for this writer to learn.

Her End Shall Come
4. For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon [is] like a threshingfloor, [it is] time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come. (Jeremiah 51:33)
Scripture placement is extremely important in God’s progressive revelation. The 50th Chapter of Jeremiah the daughter of Babylon is set as God’s adversary because she is the tireless active enemy of God’s people, Israel. Then in Chapter 51 of Jeremiah, the Holy Spirit of God not only announces that her judgment has been set but He also includes a time element into the narrative, [it is] time . . . yet a little while . . . and the time of her harvest shall come. Babylon and the daughter of Babylon have always been judged from her conception onward. There was NEVER a time in history that evil has NOT been judged.
Jeremiah Chapter 50 reveals that it was the daughter of Babylon who was the adversary.
Jeremiah Chapter 51 discloses a continuous battle and a time frame with an ending AND it is also the end of Jeremiah’s prophecy.
Jeremiah, Chapter 52 is historical: describing the destruction of the nation of Israel by king Nebuchadnezzar. This last chapter culminates in the victory of Babylon, and the daughter of Babylon, over the corrupt nation of Israel, over the corrupt city of Jerusalem, over the corrupt priesthood, and over a corrupt people. Within this last Chapter there are THIRTEEN verses with the word Babylon. God the Holy Spirit not only uses words BUT through the seen and unseen numbers within His words He magnifies His message.
God allowed His enemies to enforce judgment on a depraved, rebellious and sanctimonious people. Throughout Jeremiah’s ministry (as prophet to Israel) the words of God through the mouth of His prophet also spoke to the nations. Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, [that] watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah. (Jeremiah 4:16) Jeremiah was NOT an unknown voice whispering to forest trees, but he was well known throughout the nations around Israel. In hearing, they heard NOT.
Read Chapter 52 of Jeremiah to understand how a nation is ruined and neutralized. The military was the first to be removed, then political leadership was reorganized and replaced by surrogates of the conqueror. Then the evidence of FAITH was removed. Then protective walls were broken. Then the people were removed and supplanted by forced migration of alien nations. (Military and political immigration has always been a major means that conquering nations have employed when subjugating a conquered people.)
—– The Daughter of Babylon and Her Time of Judgment —–
Do you see the time elements in these words? [it is] time . . . yet a little while . . . and the time of her harvest shall come. Although Babylon and the daughter of Babylon developed from the city of Babel on the plain of Shinar in the land of Babylon during the age of Nimrod, the spirit of rebelliousness existed in the first world, the world before the flood . . . also known as the age of Noah.

Three small words . . . [it is] time . . . is a deep well dug by the Spirit of God. These three small words are only recorded three times in the entire Bible. The first mention is found in Psalm 119:126, It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law. What is the activating agent that causes God to work His will and purpose on the people who dwell on His earth? The cause is the refusal to accept His LAW and His WORD from the very beginning of man’s presence on His earth, since the assigned Federal Head of the earth (Adam) willfully refused to obey God’s Law. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: (Genesis 2:16) But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. (Genesis 2:17) And the LORD God COMMANDED and yet man refused to obey and made VOID God’s Law.
The second mention of it is time is in our current Bible study verse of Jeremiah 51:33. For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor, it is time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come. Look at how this verse is numbered and consider the hidden message within its words. Although the daughter of Babylon is like a threshingfloor in all that she does, thinks and accomplishes, God in His mercy says yet a little while. Even Babylon and the daughter of Babylon are mercifully allowed time to repent. [What] if God, willing to shew [his] wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: (Romans 9:22) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2nd Peter 3:9)
Look at the first number 5, in 51:33, the number of GRACE. The next number is 1, the number that symbolizes GOD. God offers His GRACE to all who repent and accept the Son of His love, Jesus Christ, the most excellent sacrifice. The Old Testament is the proclamation of the oracles of God, and the ORACLE of God, is the Lamb of Sacrifice. Then through the next two numbers (33) we have the double witness of the GODHEAD bodily: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It is ONLY through the blood sacrifice of God Himself that man can receive the GRACE of God. There is yet more in the number sequence of 5 – 1 – 3 – 3. No matter what age man exists in, or what spiritual comprehension level man has, ALL will stand before the judgment seat of God without excuse, especially those who were of Babylon and the daughter of Babylon.
And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. (Revelation 20:11) And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. (Revelation 20:12) And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. (Revelation 20:13) And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. (Revelation 20:14) And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. (Revelation 20:15)
The third and last mention of it is time is recorded in Hosea 10:12, Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for it is time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. The book of Hosea is a difficult read, not in comprehension but that God required His prophet Hosea to marry into the midst of the harshness of wickedness. Wickedness is mentioned in six verses in the book of Hosea. (Hosea 7:1, 2, 3; 9:15; 10:13, 15) The number six suits man as wickedness is man’s chosen domain. And they consider not in their hearts [that] I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face. (Hosea 7:2) All their wickedness [is] in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes [are] revolters. (Hosea 9:15) Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity; ye have eaten the fruit of lies: because thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men. (Hosea 10:13) Yet, God speaks of His righteousness offered to a wicked people, a wicked nation. Again, God promised that He would reach out to His chosen ones and offer them His righteousness. Three (3) times the word righteousness is documented in the book of Hosea. And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. (Hosea 2:19) Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy; break up your fallow ground: for [it is] time to seek the LORD, till he come and rain righteousness upon you. (Hosea 10:12)
Then the words IT IS TIME . . . in this we see both a promise and a warning – IT IS TIME TO SEEK THE LORD. God’s people (in Hosea’s age) had willingly given themselves to Babylon as the people of our current world have eagerly given themselves to the daughter of Babylon. Their religious system owned their hearts and souls. The political/corporate entities of wealth and control owned their minds and bodies. You may consider that you are neither of the world of Hosea nor of the world of Israel or of Samaria, BUT you are.

It is time to seek the LORD for yet a little while Babylon and the daughter of Babylon will cease to exist. God’s longsuffering is wrapped in His goodness, in His great mercy and in His compassion and truth. As God’s divine power is far beyond our natural realm, so also. His supernal forbearance allows the element of time to continue. Mankind lives IN time, he lives THROUGH time, he lives BECAUSE of time without giving the component of time a second of time in his thoughts. Time is much more than chronology or a means of measurement. Time was created FOR man’s existence by his Creator. Time is a unique process created by God for man. Many label time as a parenthesis, a break or a bubble planted in a continuous dimension of the timelessness of eternity, and as man is a tripartite creation: body, soul and spirit, he was created to exist in two realms: the natural (body) and the spiritual (soul and spirit). However, the ability to move in and between two separate realms (the natural realm and the supernatural spiritual realm) was relinquished by Adam. From that moment, mankind no longer spoke to God face to face, no longer walked with God as friend of God, and no longer was able to approach God without a form of mediation through a specific sacrifice by a Specific Sacrificer.
God’s divine power OVER time maintains our universal system of continual movement. Our Creator God is Spirit and He manifested Himself in the image of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout the written word of God. Whenever God is recorded as a SEEN BEING, it is ALWAYS AS and IN the image of the Lord Jesus Christ. God CONTROLS time because He created time Consider the time of Joshua (Joshua 10:12-14) and king Hezekiah (Isaiah 38:1-8).
● Then spake Joshua to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun, stand thou still upon Gibeon; and thou, Moon, in the valley of Ajalon. (Joshua 10:12) And the sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the people had avenged themselves upon their enemies. Is not this written in the book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and hasted not to go down about a whole day. (Joshua 10:13) And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD hearkened unto the voice of a man: for the LORD fought for Israel. (Joshua 10:14)
● Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down. (Isaiah 38:8)
Why should Joshua Chapter 10 and verses 12 -14 and Isaiah 38:8 seem impossible? NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD. For with God nothing shall be impossible. (Luke 1:37) (Genesis 18:14; Jeremiah 32:17; Matthew 19:26) Since the creation of time was deliberately planted into the sphere of timelessness it is God’s domain to activate or to deactivate as He wills and should not concern His creatures. Believing God was NOT difficult for Abel, neither for Enoch, nor for Noah, nor for Abraham, however, ACTING in belief of God’s word through power became the evidence of their FAITH regardless of the cost of the TRIAL of their FAITH. That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ: (1st Peter 1:7) Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you. (1st Peter 4:12)
It is Time of ‘Yet a Little While’

Notice how God the Holy Spirit describes time as ‘a LITTLE while.’ But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. (2nd Peter 3:8) For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night. (Psalm 90:4) Thousands of years have passed since Babylon reigned in ecclesiastical and royal pagan pageantry (Jezebel) while the daughter of Babylon (Athaliah) ruled over God’s city (Jerusalem) and His holy hill (Moriah, the place of divine sacrifice where God’s blood was shed) with tyrannical acts of sedition and murder to advance all of her mother’s paganism. (Although Babylon (Jezebel) and (Athaliah) daughter of Babylon attempted to steal God’s power and authority both women of whoredoms died deaths documenting that they had neither POWER nor AUTHORITY over time or death. Jezebel was devoured by dogs and her remains flowed as dog dung on the field of Jezreel. And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; [so] that they shall not say, This [is] Jezebel. (2nd Kings 9:37)
Side Note: The Burial of Jezebel. Our GREAT GOD determined that nothing of the flesh would remain of Jezebel. If God had allowed a single small visible minuscule tissue of the body of Jezebel to remain then man would have flocked to that site to worship that relic of evil. They probably could have called this relic, The Queen of Waste Mismanagement. This is man’s inherent nature, to worship evil. Consider the body of Moses.
● So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. (Deuteronomy 34:5) And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Bethpeor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. (Deuteronomy 34:6)
● Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. (Jude 1:9)
Why did the devil desire to have control over the dead body of Moses? Before we continue with this point over the devil’s contending with the archangel, Michael, for the body of Moses let’s look at God’s plan for the body of Moses. Here is another supernatural mystery that God had plans for Moses after his death and burial.
Side Note of a Side Note: The body of Moses. Three times in the gospels we are informed that Moses and Elias (Elijah) appeared in a bodily recognizable form to Peter, James and John on the mount of transfiguration. (Matthew 17:3,4; Mark 9:4, 5; Luke 9:30, 33) And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him. (Matthew 17:3) Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. (Matthew 17:4) Notice that Moses and Elijah talked with the Lord Jesus, but DID NOT speak to either Peter, James or John. Although the apostles saw Moses and Elijah in their glorified state there was no communication between the spiritual glorified state and the natural state. However, John, in Revelation 19:10 and 22:9 was able to verbally interact with the spiritual glorified state of those in the supernatural realm.
Moses represented the LAW and Elias (Elijah) represented the PROPHETS. Although the body of Moses laid dead and buried, the promise of eternal life, and life everlasting was supernaturally revealed IN an actual living form, speaking and actively involved with the Lord of glory. God definitely had plans for Moses AFTER death, and that was LIFE. Elijah (a prophet) who was carried up into the heavens by a chariot represented all the saints who as Enoch (a prophet) were translated and appeared also with Moses to reveal that both Enoch and Elijah were translated from a world and a body of death into a world of LIFE with a body prepared for that divine LIFE. God definitely had plans for both Enoch and Elijah and that was LIFE.
✔ And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God: (Job 19:26)
✔ As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness. (Psalm 17:15)
✔ And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. (1st Corinthians 15:49)
✔ Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself. (Philippians 3:21)
✔ When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. (Colossians 3:4)
✔ Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. (1st John 3:2) And with that NEW LIFE there is SERVICE. Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. (Revelation 7:15) And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: (Revelation 22:3) ◆ End of Side Note of a Side Note: The Body of Moses.
How advantageous it would have been for Satan’s cause to draw both Israel and Gentiles to the grand sepulcher of Moses! Man will fall down and worship anything and everything in their religious fervor to acquire what they perceive as religiousness: the power with God and over God. Just think why God did not allow the ark to remain intact. Although there are many things that God has removed from man’s reach, this did not stop man from creating manufactured relics. What began in the book of Numbers Chapter 21 to draw people to God’s power over nature and to His power of salvation became a point of unacceptable worship.
And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died. (Numbers 21:6)
Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD, and against thee; pray unto the LORD, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. (Numbers 21:7)
And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. (Numbers 21:8)
And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived. (Numbers 21:9)
How did the brazen serpent survive for 725 years? Now it came to pass in the third year of Hoshea son of Elah king of Israel, that Hezekiah the son of Ahaz king of Judah began to reign. (2nd Kings 18:1)
Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachariah. (2nd Kings 18:2)
And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did. (2nd Kings 18:3)
He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. (2nd Kings 18:4)
Nehushtan was just one example by the Holy Spirit of God to show that mankind HAS TO HAVE something to worship NOT CENTERED around God. The first Chapter of the book of Romans CLEARLY reveals the blackness of man’s mind and heart.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; (Romans 1:18)
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. (Romans 1:19)
For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: (Romans 1:20)
Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. (Romans 1:21)
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, (Romans 1:22)
And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. (Romans 1:23)
Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: (Romans 1:24)
Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. (Romans 1:25)
Man has not changed. I have always found religion to be sometimes amusing in their appeal for funds, for in their use of ‘faith’ they seem to be the only ones unable to live by ‘faith.’ In order to function they must have a set budget, but their supporters need to live by ‘faith’ and not by a budget . . . ‘Faith for thee, but not for me.‘ Religion has not changed. Merchandisers of religious objects have found religion to be an extremely profitable market. Just think how the selling point of ‘wood from the cross of Christ’ is a good payday for sellers. Never forget that the first merchandiser was Lucifer. Usually, the first one to stake a claim on a manufactured relic and pronounce its religious value of sainthood is Romanism. Do not smirk. Every organization under the banner of religion has a so-called relic that pays well. One relic that is common among all counterfeit religions is the worship of their own religion. They will fight viciously for their religion but NOT for CHRIST. Even while standing under the banner of ‘Christianity’ their religious minds cannot comprehend the difference between Christianity and religion. Consider the shroud of Turin. Aa hah, now that opens a door for controversy.
The shroud of Turin is a deliberate fabricated lie, let me state it in a gentler and kinder way . . . it is a massive LIE manufactured and merchandised for profit. The Lord Jesus Christ was buried according to strict Jewish burial laws and regulations. THIS WAS NO SHROUD! As all liars know, very few will ever research and seek to find the truth, therefore, very few will turn to the word of God for TRUTH. So, therefore, wherefore, and ergo, READ the following.
● LAZARUS: The 11th Chapter of the gospel of John, verses 38 – 44 is the burial and the resurrection of Lazarus. Especially notice verse 44. And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Lazarus was buried with a napkin over his face and his body bound with graveclothes. Strips of cloth wrapped his entire body.
Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave. It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it. (John 11:38)
Jesus said, Take ye away the stone. Martha, the sister of him that was dead, saith unto him, Lord, by this time he stinketh: for he hath been dead four days. (John 11:39)
Jesus saith unto her, Said I not unto thee, that, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God? (John 11:40)
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. (John 11:41)
And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me. (John 11:42)
And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. (John 11:43)
And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. (John 11:44)
● THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. The 19th Chapter of the gospel of John describes how Nicodemus (a leader of the Jews, a scholar in Jewish biblical history) and Joseph of Arimathaea (a disciple of Jesus) wrapped His body in preparation for burial.
And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight. (John 19:39) Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury. (John 19:40)
● THE LORD JESUS CHRIST. In the 20th Chapter of the gospel of John, notice that three times linen clothes is mentioned, and also the napkin around His head. DO YOU SEE A SHROUD MENTIONED? There is a huge difference between A NAPKIN size cloth and a SHROUD.
Then she runneth, and cometh to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple, whom Jesus loved, and saith unto them, They have taken away the Lord out of the sepulchre, and we know not where they have laid him. (John 20:2)
Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and came to the sepulchre. (John 20:3)

So they ran both together: and the other disciple did outrun Peter, and came first to the sepulchre. (John 20:4)
And he stooping down, and looking in, saw the linen clothes lying; yet went he not in. (John 20:5)
Then cometh Simon Peter following him, and went into the sepulchre, and seeth the linen clothes lie, (John 20:6)
And the napkin, that was about his head, not lying with the linen clothes, but wrapped together in a place by itself. (John 20:7)
● ANANIAS. Acts Chapter 5 describes how Ananias was prepared for burial. He was quickly wound up . . . no shroud here.
And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. (Acts 5:5) And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him. (Acts 5:6)
I don’t care how many experts proclaim the validity of the so-called shroud of Turin. These paid experts would verify anything for anyone at any time as long as gold passed into their greedy lying claws. They only thing that they can claim to be experts in is LYING. That’s how the majority of scientists roll . . . show them the money.
Now, where were we? Oh, yeah, Jezebels’ burial . . . [so] that they shall not say, This [is] Jezebel. God definitely made sure that there was very little left of Jezebel to bury or even to see. And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of [her] hands. (2nd Kings 9:35) Jezebel was an example of how Lucifer developed the worst within a willing female to infect a nation with whoredoms and harlotry. Even ravenous dogs refused to devour what remained of her evil and treacherous mind that had reveled in the doctrines of devils; they rejected her wily walk of whoredoms, and those carnivorous animals touched not her bloody palms that had caressed the heinous powers of Satan. ◆ End of Side Note: The burial of Jezebel.
Later, Jezebel’s daughter (Athaliah) was slain at the entrance of the horse gate by the king’s house. So they laid hands on her; and when she was come to the entering of the horse gate by the king’s house, they slew her there. (2nd Chronicles 23:15) Jezebel ruled because her husband was a king, however, Athaliah actually ruled as a queen for seven years after her husband died and after she murdered ALL (she thought it was ALL) of the royal line of David. Symbolically both women lived, ruled and died as Babylon the great and as the daughter of Babylon had existed, reigned and will yet be destroyed. The only physical evidence of Jezebel’s existence was the dung of dogs . . . truly this will be the end of Babylon the Great. The last time that Athaliah was physically seen was at the gate where animals of service in ceremonial pomp and pageantry and military strength strode. (How many times does anyone get the opportunity to use the word ‘strode’?) Both Babylon and the daughter of Babylon and all their worldly power of religious paganism will end justly and swiftly within one day and within one hour. Read Chapter 18 in the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ. The number 18 has a hidden message IN the number itself.
✔ Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come. (Revelation 18:10)
✔ For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, (Revelation 18:17)
✔ And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate. (Revelation 18:19)
Placing judgment into one hour of man’s history of time is a small matter compared to God’s control over the vastness of constantly active cosmic dust. Chapter 18 is a Chapter of JUDGMENT, and in verse 19, man in their financial ruin cast dust on their heads. Truly a fitting end for man since man was formed from dust and his end is dust, and when judgment falls, he will cast dust upon himself. Thus, subconsciously or not, mankind knows that he is but dust.
● In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou [art], and unto dust shalt thou return. (Genesis 3:19)
● All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust. (Job 34:15)
When Babylon falls, all that she had promised to mankind, will fall with her. The mighty men of power and wealth will wail over their desolation. The merciless greedy merchandisers and all those who bear the mark of The Beast will wail over their desolation and ruin. Man’s being was not only created from dust, but all of his hopes and dreams have always been as unstable castles built on the shores of constantly moving seas of unrest and turmoil. As Jezebel and Athaliah rejected TRUTH and chose those things of worthless dung, so therefore, they both perished as worthless dung. Jezebel ceased to be and there is no place named as Athaliah’s place of burial. Do not think that Jezebel’s end was not broadcast over many lands. Her death and the journey of her body were definitely the major news story of the year, and around the office water dispenser the jokes were brutally truthful. No one could ever say that Jezebel’s remains remained.
I will add this thought to this article: since Jezebel became associated with dung, so just maybe . . . just maybe . . . Athaliah (Jezebel’s vicious murderous daughter) was taken to the dung gate (also known as the dung port) and DUMPED there (DUMPED not buried) near the dragon well . . . neither shall they be buried; [but] they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth. (Jeremiah 16:4)

This is only opinion, Athaliah’s body was probably treated neither with respect nor with any historical importance for even the absence of any documentation on the burial or remains of Athaliah speaks volumes of her end. Nothing much remained of Jezebel and her daughter Athaliah because they both were neither valued to the people, nor to God. Although the following verses in the book of Job preceded the existence of Jezebel and Athaliah, Job 20:7 describes Jezebel’s end and Jeremiah 16:4 describes the absence of all documentation concerning the burial of Athaliah.
✔ [Yet] he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where [is] he? (Job 20:7)
✔ They shall die of grievous deaths; they shall not be lamented; neither shall they be buried; [but] they shall be as dung upon the face of the earth: and they shall be consumed by the sword, and by famine; and their carcases shall be meat for the fowls of heaven, and for the beasts of the earth. (Jeremiah 16:4)
There are many connections between Jezebel’s life and her death to the woman known as MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH in Revelation 17:5. Jezebel’s end was first prophesied to king Ahab through the prophet Elijah as documented in 1st Kings, Chapter 21.
● And Ahab said to Elijah, Hast thou found me, O mine enemy? And he answered, I have found thee: because thou hast sold thyself to work evil in the sight of the LORD. (1st Kings 21:20)
Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will take away thy posterity, and will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, (1st Kings 21:21)
And will make thine house like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah, for the provocation wherewith thou hast provoked me to anger, and made Israel to sin. (1st Kings 21:22)
And of Jezebel also spake the LORD, saying, The dogs shall eat Jezebel by the wall of Jezreel. (1st Kings 21:23)
Him that dieth of Ahab in the city the dogs shall eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat. (1st Kings 21:24)
● And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly. (1st Kings 21:27) And the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying, (1st Kings 21:28) Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house. (1st Kings 21:29)
Years later, through Elisha the prophet, this same prophecy was AGAIN given, but this time the man who would cause Jezebel’s demise was identified, it was the man Jehu who was anointed with the box of oil. * (See Side Note below.) God the Holy Spirit desired to enforce our understanding that Jezebel’s end would SURELY come as MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH would also SURELY come to her end.
● And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead: (2nd Kings 9:1)
And when thou comest thither, look out there Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brethren, and carry him to an inner chamber; (2nd Kings 9:2)
Then take the box of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not. (2nd Kings 9:3)
So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramothgilead. (2nd Kings 9:4)
And when he came, behold, the captains of the host were sitting; and he said, I have an errand to thee, O captain. And Jehu said, Unto which of all us? And he said, To thee, O captain. (2nd Kings 9:5)
And he arose, and went into the house; and he poured the oil on his head, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, I have anointed thee king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel. (2nd Kings 9:6)
And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel. (2nd Kings 9:7)
For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel: (2nd Kings 9:8)
And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah: (2nd Kings 9:9)
And the dogs shall eat Jezebel in the portion of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her. And he opened the door, and fled. (2nd Kings 9:10)
● And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot. (2nd Kings 9:33)
Ans when he was come in, he did eat and drink, and said, Go, see now this cursed woman, and bury her: for she is a king’s daughter. (2nd Kings 9:34)
And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands. (2nd Kings 9:35)
Wherefore they came again, and told him. And he said, This is the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, In the portion of Jezreel shall dogs eat the flesh of Jezebel: (2nd Kings 9:36)
And the carcase of Jezebel shall be as dung upon the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel; so that they shall not say, This is Jezebel. (2nd Kings 9:37)
As there were TWO prophecies of Jezebel’s FALL to her death in the Old Testament, there are also two prophecies of the FALL of Babylon in the Old Testament, and two prophecies of the fulfillment of the FALL of Babylon in the New Testament. As Jezebel FELL so shall Babylon FALL. As Lucifer FELL from his position of power and authority so shall Babylon FALL. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! (Isaiah 14:12) And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. (Luke 10:18) As all those who serve evil have FALLEN and will yet continue to FALL, so shall Babylon FALL and shall never rise again. There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise. (Psalm 36:12) The warning to the church of the Thessalonians was given to alert the Church of its future FALLING AWAY from God and His Christ brought on through the influence of the daughter of Babylon within the sanctuary of God. Let no man deceive you by any means: for [that day shall not come], except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; (2nd Thessalonians 2:3)
1. And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. (Isaiah 21:9)
2. Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed. (Jeremiah 51:8)
NO, we are not finished with this line of thought. Consider also how many times the phrase is fallen, is fallen is documented in Scripture.
1. And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, [with] a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. (Isaiah 21:9)
2. And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. (Revelation 14:8)
3. And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird. (Revelation 18:2)
There have been scores of prophesied judgments in Scripture that have been fulfilled, however, there is ANOTHER yet to be realized, and that is THE END of Babylon and the daughter of Babylon. The number three is the confirmation that the GODHEAD in their determinate counsel has overcome the world, the flesh and the devil through their SOVEREIGN POWER. God has declared it, God has proclaimed it, and God has determined that Babylon the great SHALL FALL.
As Jezebel was FOUND NO MORE, so also was the great city of Babylon will be FOUND NO MORE. And they went to bury her: but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of [her] hands. (2nd Kings 9:35) And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all. (Revelation 18:21) Again notice the message within the numbering structure. The first mention of FOUND NO MORE is in Chapter 9. The second and the last mention of FOUND NO MORE is in Chapter 18. The double nine. The double JUDGMENT.
Also consider the time span between the first prophecy of the END of Jezebel and its fulfillment in her fatal fall from the height of power. The fulfillment of the fall of Babylon (Jezebel) came in the next generation through the daughter of Babylon. Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days: but in his son’s days will I bring the evil upon his house. In 1st Kings 21:29, God also restrained His JUDGMENT on the house of Ahab until the days of his son: this generational span of time spiritually relates to the JUDGMENT from BABYLON to the days of the daughter of Babylon. MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
Side Note: The BOX OF OIL* This is one of the many times that the Spirit of God simply enthralls me with His stupendous Godness. There are no mortal words that are able to capture the intricacies within His written word as there are no mortal words that can capture the spiritual complexities with the Living Word of God. They are both marvelously presented to mankind to reveal the supernal supremeness of His Godness. And the box of oil is one of those moments that leaves me in awe of Scripture and of the Godhead.
Whenever God anointed a man to be king over His people Israel it was either with a vial or with a horn, or with a box of oil. Consider this: Saul was anointed with a vial of oil as king of Israel. David and Solomon were both anointed with horns of oil. However, Jehu was also anointed to be king of Israel, but this was Israel (the ten northern tribes) after their united rebelliousness. Let us explore some details.
SAUL ANOINTED with a vial of oil . . . over Israel
● And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God. (1st Samuel 9:27) Then Samuel took a vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said, Is it not because the LORD hath anointed thee to be captain over his inheritance? (1st Samuel 10:1)
DAVID ANOINTED with a horn of oil . . . over Israel
● And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. (1st Samuel 16:1)
● Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah. (1st Samuel 16:13)
SOLOMON ANOINTED with a horn of oil . . . over Israel
● And Zadok the priest took an horn of oil out of the tabernacle, and anointed Solomon. And they blew the trumpet; and all the people said, God save king Solomon. (1st Kings 1:39)
JEHU ANOINTED with a box of oil . . . over (Israel) the ten tribes.
● Then take the box of oil, and pour [it] on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not. (2nd Kings 9:3)
GOD’S CHRIST ANOINTED with an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard.
● When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever: (Psalm 92:7) But thou, LORD, art most high for evermore. (Psalm 92:8) For, lo, thine enemies, O LORD, for, lo, thine enemies shall perish; all the workers of iniquity shall be scattered. (Psalm 92:9) But my horn shalt thou exalt like [the horn of] an unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil. (Psalm 92:10)
● Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. (Psalm23:5)
● And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured [it] on his head. (Mark 14:3)
The word box is mentioned seven (7) times in Scripture. Let us attempt to break down the spiritual meaning within these seven mentions. The seven documentations of the word box breaks down into three harmonious areas: box of oil, box tree and alabaster box of ointment.
1. And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead: (2nd Kings 9:1)
2. Then take the box of oil, and pour [it] on his head, and say, Thus saith the LORD, I have anointed thee king over Israel. Then open the door, and flee, and tarry not. (2nd Kings 9:2)

3. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, [and] the pine, and the box tree together: (Isaiah 41:19)
4. The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. (Isaiah 60:13)

5. There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat [at meat]. (Matthew 26:7)
6. And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured [it] on his head. (Matthew 14:3)
7. And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that [Jesus] sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, (Luke 7:37)
First, the phrase box of oil is recorded twice in Scripture. (2nd Kings 9:1 and 3). Secondly, we have box connected to the box tree together in the third and fourth mention. (Isaiah 41:19; 60:13) In the third mention the box together is to God’s sanctuary. Fourthly, it is recorded as an alabaster box of very precious ointment, in the New Testament in the fifth documentation of box in Matthew 26:7. The word box appears TWICE in Mark 14:3, an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured [it] on his head. Lastly in Luke 7:37 the phrase an alabaster box of ointment is repeated. Consequently, we have three distinctive descriptions of box in the New Testament; an alabaster box of very precious ointment in Matthew 26:7, then an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious in Mark 14:3 and an alabaster box of ointment in Luke 7:37.
What does the Spirit of God desires that we should see in the word box regarding the anointing of a king? The first mention of a box of oil is the anointing of a king over Israel (the 10 northern tribes) through the directive by Elisha to an unnamed son of a prophet. We will use a surfboard instead of a scuba tank to follow the box of oil. Saul (of the tribe of Benjamin) was anointed by a vial, and he was NOT the man of God’s choosing. The vial speaks of the wrath of God. And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who liveth for ever and ever. (Revelation 15:7) And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth. (Revelation 16:1)
David, from the tribe of Judah, was anointed with oil from a horn and was God’s CHOSEN KING. However, in 2nd Kings 9 (the number of JUDGMENT and FINALITY) we have a man (Jehu) also from the line of Benjamin (as Saul) made king over divided Israel. Remember, we are surfing, not deep diving: Jehu was clearly God’s chosen man to destroy Ahab AND Jezebel AND their entire dynastic line AND the cult of Baal. God stepped into the rebellious dynasties that ruled over the ten tribes and placed HIS man on the throne by anointing Jehu with a box of oil. In order to understand the spiritual connection of Jehu’s anointing with a box of oil God has laid before us the connection in 2nd Kings 9:14, So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi. (WHAT? . . . and HOW is there a connection through names in the genealogy of Jehu?) Jehu was the son of Jehoshaphat (this was also the name of a king of Judah) who was the son of Nimshi. Jehu means ‘God is‘ or ‘he shall be,’ or ‘he shall subsist.’ Jehoshaphat means ‘Jehovah judged,‘ or ‘Jehovah is judge,’ and Nimshi means ‘my being drawn,’ ‘saved,‘ or ‘extricated.‘ Let’s put it together: Saul’s anointing with a vial is connected to God’s wrath, David’s and Solomon’s anointing with a horn is connected with God’s blessing (sonship) and inheritance (Sonship), and Jehu’s anointing with a box is connected with the JUDGMENT of a Sovereign God to draw His people away from Baal and to extricate them from the whoredoms of Babylon in Ahab and Jezebel. These ten tribes with their center in Samaria became divided and separated from the two tribes of Judah and Benjamin through a rebellion without civil conflict, yet, God sent His warrior, Jehu, to extricate them from the clutches of Baalism.
We should NOT be concerned entirely with Jehu, but we should understand the symbolism and the typology around the BOX of oil. Oil of course is symbolic of the Holy Spirit of God. However, the BOX in 2nd Kings 9:1 contains the JUDGMENT of God. The number nine tells us that it is JUDGMENT. The word BOX is where we should see more about the ministration of the office and work of the Holy Spirit. The BOX of oil has NO description. We are NOT supposed to see what it is constructed from. We are NOT supposed to know its measurement; therefore, the shape, size, material, depth, width and height are not revealed. We know only one thing: the BOX contains OIL (representing the Holy Spirit) and the Holy Spirit of God JUDGES. The Spirit of God cannot be measured. He cannot neither be weighed; nor can He be ignored. Although Scripture (written by the Spirit of God) uses the word BOX, He cannot be contained in a physical form of a BOX. However, the current church through the errors of time have done just that, they have placed the Holy Spirit in a box of their own making. He has been denied His rightful place in the contemporary church. He has no form, He is a separate entity from mankind.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5)
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:6)
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (John 3:7)
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. (John 3:8)
The Holy Spirit of God sets free, delivers from the natural world of sin and breathes new life. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. (Genesis 2:7) The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life. To this very day, man still cannot comprehend that the work of the Holy Spirit is the UNSEEN supernatural moving of the Spirit of God in the hearts, body and souls of mankind. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? (John 3:9)
That is part of the administration of the Spirit of God, therefore, this work was assigned to be Jehu’s role: to set the people of Israel free from Jezebel, free from Ahab, and free from Baal. Jehu was to deliver Israel from the conflict of Baal worship through JUDGMENT, thus, Jehu was anointed with a box of oil.

The first two mentions are both in Chapter 9, the Chapter of JUDGMENT. Note that Jehu was first anointed to be king over the people of the LORD, even over Israel. He was anointed privately, separated from his brethren and anointed in an inner chamber: a secure room. This reveals that even in an evil world, evil lurks within trusted brethren. Although his anointing would become known, his goal would not be disclosed to others. (2nd Kings 10). One of the reasons that Jehu was so successful in the destruction of the worship of Baal was that he used guile and cunning to achieve his goal. Jehu was anointed to bring JUDGMENT upon the house of Ahab and his evil Baal priestess wife Jezebel.
● And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel. (2nd Kings 9:7)
For the whole house of Ahab shall perish: and I will cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel: (2nd Kings 9:8)
And I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah: (2nd Kings 9:9)
● And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much. (2nd Kings 10:18)
Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal. (2nd Kings 10:19)
And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it. (2nd Kings 10:20)
And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another. (2nd Kings 10:21)
And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments. (2nd Kings 10:22)
And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only. (2nd Kings 10:23)
And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him. (2nd Kings 10:24)
And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal. (2nd Kings 10:25)
And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them. (2nd Kings 10:26)
And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day. (2nd Kings 10:27)
Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel. (2nd Kings 10:28)
Although Jehu succeeded in his directive from God, he failed to follow through during his remaining years as king of Israel. Having accomplished what God had instructed and anointed him to fulfill, he failed to see the same evil that was in Baal in Samaria was also in the golden calves at the northern border at Dan and at the southern border at Bethel. Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan. (2nd Kings 10:29) This is a message that many followers of Christ also cannot see. The message is this: there are no degrees of evil. Although evil abounds under many names and different titles, it is still evil. There are those who commit evil and there are those who accept those who commit evil . . . both are equally evil. Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them. (Romans 1:32) Now onward to the third and fourth mention of box.
3. I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, [and] the pine, and the box tree together: (Isaiah 41:19) Notice that we have two areas: wilderness and the desert. Then strangely it may seem that God the Holy Spirit brings in seven trees: the cedar, the shittah, the myrtle, the oil tree, the fir tree, the pine tree and the box tree in Isaiah 41:19, however, in Isaiah 60:13 we see only three trees: the fir tree, the pine tree and the box tree . . . WHY? Why seven trees? Why three trees? And why bring in trees at all into the mix? I’m flying here without a net: meaning I have never seen this before, therefore, I pray that the Holy Spirit will illuminate the path ahead with His lamp of truth. Isaiah 41:19 is the only time that we see the words oil tree. This is the pine tree, fragrant as an anointing oil.
4. The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. (Isaiah 60:13) From JUDGMENT and Jehu to the place of my sanctuary, where God places His feet in glory. It is The BOX TOGETHER with the fir tree and the pine tree that holds everything TOGETHER.
The study of each tree and its double meaning is a major endeavor. Fear not, we are on a surfboard not strapped to a scuba tank, so you are safe for now from a study of trees of the Bible. One note: remember that there is always the double meaning: the negative and positive of each number and spiritual concept; for example, each tree is symbolic. In Ezekiel 31:3, it is the ASSYRIAN who is as a cedar, Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs. (Much has previously been written concerning THE ASSYRIAN). Each tree also has a double meaning: one that represents the GODHEAD, and the other that is Lucifer/Satan’s imitation of God’s work. Wherever God plants His Person, Satan plants his person. Wherever God creates His sanctuary, Satan builds his counterfeit sanctuary. What God calls righteous and good, Satan claims ownership and tramples it into ruin. Wherever God plants His tree, Satan also plants a tree of the same species to confuse and to draw the weak into his evil forest. For instance, there is the goodly cedar (Ezekiel 17:23) and the oppressive cedar tree.
● Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set [it]; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant [it] upon an high mountain and eminent: (Ezekiel 17:22)
In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell. (Ezekiel 17:23)
And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it. (Ezekiel 17:24)
● Howl, fir tree; for the cedar is fallen; because the mighty are spoiled: howl, O ye oaks of Bashan; for the forest of the vintage is come down. (Zechariah 11:2)
● Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, [even] the porch of judgment: and [it was] covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other. (1st Kings 7:7) Cedar covered the PORCH OF JUDGMENT for the throne of judgment in verse 7:7.
God the Holy Spirit uses the box tree to reveal that the GODHEAD is represented in His creation and thus, through the fir tree, the pine tree and the box tree TOGETHER are the GLORY and BEAUTY of His Being. The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. (Isaiah 60:13) The pine tree is the OIL, the Spirit of God, the anointing power of the GODHEAD. Remember that the fir tree and the pine tree are of the SAME FAMILY, however, the fir tree is known for its height, thus the fir tree represents the Highest, God Himself. (Psalm 18:13) But the box together reveals the ONENESS of the GODHEAD.
So, how did we get this far in the word of box? First, God JUDGED sin and totally destroyed the dynasty of Ahab, Jezebel and Baal. He alone determines who will be the king over His people. Then moving on with the word box God the Holy Spirit adds more to our understanding of His word and His WORD.
Through the use of typology of the pine tree, the fir tree and the box tree in Isaiah 60:13 we have the Holy Spirit, God the Father, and God the Son. We also have the Prophet, King and Priest ALL TOGETHER to beautify the place of my sanctuary in the pine tree, the fir tree and the box tree.
Let us move into the New Testament to tie it all together in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
5. There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat [at meat]. (Matthew 26:7)
6. And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured [it] on his head. (Mark 14:3)
7. And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that [Jesus] sat at meat in the Pharisee’s house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, (Luke 7:37).
The last documentation of the word box is found in the 7th Chapter and the 37th verse . . . 7 – 3 – 7. The perfect number to disclose the perfect ONE represented in the word box. The perfection of GOD surrounds the PERFECT GODHEAD BODILY. He is the perfect KING, He is the perfect PROPHET, He is the perfect PRIEST. He is the perfect JUDGE. He is the perfect and more excellent SACRIFICE.
Although we have come to the end of the word box in the gospels, the anointing of Christ is continued in the gospel of John.
8. Then Jesus six days before the passover came to Bethany, where Lazarus was which had been dead, whom he raised from the dead. (John 12:1) There they made him a supper; and Martha served: but Lazarus was one of them that sat at the table with him. (John 12:2) Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. (John 12:3)
Did you notice the separation of these references? Through the fifth, sixth and seventh mention of box there are three progressive descriptions: an alabaster box of very precious ointment, an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious, and an alabaster box of ointment. This is the only time that the word alabaster is documented in Scripture. It is mentioned THREE times. Alabaster is white and denotes the purity of the sacrifice of Christ. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial. (Matthew 26:12) Christ was anointed for HIS BURIAL with the box of very precious ointment . . . not any ointment, but PRECIOUS anointment.
● But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: (1st Peter 1:19)
● To whom coming, [as unto] a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, [and] precious, (1st Peter 2:4)
● Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded. (1st Peter 2:6) Unto you therefore which believe [he is] precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, (1st Peter 2:7)
Note that this precious ointment was poured on His head. Twice it is documented that the oil was poured [it] on his head. (It was also noted TWICE with Jehu in 2nd Kings 9:3 and 6 that the oil from the box was poured on his head). That was a double witness of God’s sovereign promise that He would place His KING as JUDGE. In Matthew 26:7 with Christ we read, There came unto him a woman having an alabaster box of very precious ointment, and poured it on his head, as he sat [at meat]. (Matthew 26:7)
Jehu was anointed as a king to fulfill God’s JUDGMENT against a man and a woman and a false religion. Christ was anointed a KING to fulfill more than God’s JUDGMENT against individuals and religions. And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured [it] on his head. (Mark 14:3) She hath done what she could: she is come aforehand to anoint my body to the burying. (Mark 14:8) Christ was anointed for His approaching death and burial to fulfill God’s JUDGMENT against sin, for He was made sin for us. He bore the JUDGMENT for ALL of mankind. Christ JUDGED SIN AND DEATH AND SATAN.
● For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (2nd Corinthians 5:21)
● Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: (Galatians 3:13)
● Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. (1st Peter 2:24))
● And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. (1st John 3:5)
The important thought that we should NOT miss is the connection to PRIESTHOOD. Christ was also anointed with oil for His position and title as PRIEST of the most high God. It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; (Psalm 133:2) As PRIEST, He presented Himself as both the Sacrificer and the Sacrifice.
● Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. (Isaiah 53:10)
● Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people’s: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. (Hebrews 7:27)
● How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (Hebrews 9:14)
● So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:28)
● But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God. (Hebrews 10:12)
6. And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured [it] on his head. (Mark 14:3)
In Mark 14:3 we are informed that the ointment was of spikenard and very precious. In this verse we are also informed that the box was broken. In Saul, David, Solomon and Jehu this action of breaking the vial, the horn and the box is not mentioned. Only in Mark 14:3 do we read and she brake the box. WHY? Why was the box broken? It was broken because this anointing would NEVER happen again. The box was broken because what Christ was about to accomplish through His death on the cross would NEVER happen again. This was the total and complete fulfillment of His soul being offered for sin. IT WAS FINISHED.
● For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. (Romans 6:10)
● And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: (Hebrews 9:27) So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation. (Hebrews 9:28)
● For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: (1st Peter 3:18)
Death and sin were conquered at the cross. Lucifer/Satan was conquered at the cross. Man was set free from the curse of sin and death. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:2) Yes, the box of JUDGMENT against the sin of man was broken. The box tree TOGETHER with the fir tree, the pine tree in the manifested ONENESS of the Godhead bodily have placed their glorious feet TOGETHER in the Sanctuary of God’s presence.
The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious. (Isaiah 60:13)
● Thou shalt bring them in, and plant them in the mountain of thine inheritance, [in] the place, O LORD, [which] thou hast made for thee to dwell in, [in] the Sanctuary, O Lord, [which] thy hands have established. (Exodus 15:17)
● Thy way, O God, [is] in the sanctuary: who [is so] great a God as [our] God? (Psalm 77:13)
● Honour and majesty [are] before him: strength and beauty [are] in his sanctuary. (Psalm 96:6)
● For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth; (Psalm 102:19)
If we go back to the Song of loves, we will see the broken box, but this time, the broken box is NOT a box but a COAT. I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? (Song of Songs 5:3) Christ fulfilled through His prepared body (THE COAT) ALL righteousness. He wore the coat (His body) of GRACE and TRUTH. He wore the coat of WISDOM, RIGHTEOUSNESS, SANCTIFICATION and REDEMPTION. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: (1st Corinthians 1:30) Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me. (Hebrews 10:5) Taking His earthly prepared Body and setting it aside, (I have put off my coat) He entered into the heavens and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. And having purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; There at the right hand of the Majesty on high, He has taken His position of high priest, bearing the vesture (the COAT) of Melchisedec as Priest and Intercessor for His own.
● Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of [our] faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)
● Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; (Hebrews 1:3)
● Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; (Hebrews 8:1)
● Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him. (1st Peter 3:22)
Leaving His earthly garments behind, I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? Having washed His feet from the dust and dirt of His walk among man, and having His feet washed while on earth in preparation for His death, burial and resurrection, why then would He need to return to earth again to accomplish what He had already accomplished. I have put off my coat; how shall I put it on? I have washed my feet; how shall I defile them? (Song of Songs 5:3)
Although we have been dealing with the word box we cannot leave this study without looking at another connection concerning the anointing of Christ for His dead, burial, and resurrection, thus, bringing earth and heaven together under His feet. Chapter 12 of the gospel of John, verse 3, adds another piece of information that is not mentioned in the other gospels.
8. Then took Mary a pound of ointment of spikenard, very costly, and anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped his feet with her hair: and the house was filled with the odour of the ointment. (John 12:3)
The ointment of spikenard was valued as a pound. Remember the Law of First Mention. The first mention of pound is found in 1st Kings 10:1, And [he made] three hundred shields [of] beaten gold; three pound of gold went to one shield: and the king put them in the house of the forest of Lebanon. THREE hundred shields were made from BEATEN GOLD. Each shield was made with THREE pounds of GOLD. Notice the numbers. Notice the material. Gold ALWAYS represents the righteousness of God. Now I will add one more consideration, THREE times in Scripture the word pound is connected to the word silver. Silver ALWAYS represents redemption. Now let us consider the last mention of the word pound in Scripture. And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound [weight]. (John 19:39) The Lord was wrapped in linen clothes and placed into the linen clothes was about an hundred pound [weight] of a mixture of myrrh and aloes. This poundage is an undefined unit of power, because it takes in God’s redeeming power and His righteousness which cannot be defined by man. Through the word pound we see both the righteousness of God (gold) and His redeeming power (silver). One hundred pounds . . . 10 x 10 = 100 . . . ten is the number of God’s perfect Divine order. So, one hundred pounds would be the undefinable perfection of God’s Divine ORDER far beyond the comprehension of His creatures. Everything was completed; thus, Christ was wrapped in God’s approval that His work on earth as the perfect and most excellent sacrifice was totally and fully completed in HIS BOX OF OIL. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost. The GODHEAD bodily was perfect in their sacrifice. A Promise for The Wicked
the Wicked Shall Not Be
1. For yet a little while, and the wicked [shall] not [be]: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it [shall] not [be]. (Psalm 37:10)
2. For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; The daughter of Babylon [is] like a threshingfloor, [it is] time to thresh her: yet a little while, and the time of her harvest shall come. (Jeremiah 51:33)

A Promise for The Righteous
because I live, ye shall live also
1. Then said Jesus unto them, Yet a little while am I with you, and [then] I go unto him that sent me. (John 7:33)
2. Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. (John 12:35)
3. Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. (John 13:33)
4. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. (John 14:19)
