The Coat – Part 8 – The TORN COAT – The Great Conspiracy and Zadok the Priest –

The Coat
Part 8

And it came to pass, that [when] David was come to the top [of the mount], where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head: (2nd Samuel 15:32)

INTRODUCTION

This series titled The Coat centers around one word, the word COAT and how it is used in Scripture by the Holy Spirit of God to REVEAL the BEAUTY within the written word of God and in the Living Word of God. The Bible (the written word) is structured by the Holy Spirit of God to reflect the Living Word of God (the Lord Jesus Christ). Since Christ is the VISIBLE image of the INVISIBLE God so also the written word of God reflects the INVISIBLE God through VISIBLE words, numbers, patterns, placement, a linear time line, progressive revelation, the Law of First Mention, and hidden yet transparent layered themes. Studying the single word of COAT is one example of transparent layered themes.
From the first time that the word COAT is mentioned to the last mention the Holy Spirit of God built a theme INTO each documentation of the word COAT. What began through the COAT of many colors blossomed into the themes of HEIRSHIP, SONSHIP, SACRIFICE, then the theme of PRIESTHOOD was laid over Heirship, sonship and sacrifice, then THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD and the theme of NATIONAL GROWTH FROM THE SEEDS OF TRIBALISM was laid over the previous documentation of the word COAT and then the theme of KINGSHIP was brought to the forefront in the use of the word COAT through Samuel in the 1st book of Samuel and now in 2nd Samuel Chapter 15 the theme of KINGSHIP continues. However, through the teaching method of progressive revelation, God the Holy Spirit added the position of the KING REJECTED and EXILED. Every theme is not only a revelation but a progressive revelation of GOD. God reveals Himself through the very structure of how His written word is formed.
The word of God is much more than words as the name of CHRIST JESUS takes in much more than His name as THE WORD in Revelation19:13, and as His name as KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS in Revelation 19:16 and also being called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace in Isaiah 9:6 or as Christ being the fulness of the Godhead bodily in Colossians 2:9. Progressive revelation combined with the method of layering theme over theme is used as a teaching tool by the MASTERMIND and the MASTER TEACHER of the written word of God: the Holy Spirit of God.

And he [was] clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. (Revelation 19:13)

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)
Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this. (Isaiah 9:7)

For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. (Colossians 2:9)
And he hath on [his] vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. (Revelation 19:16)

The one word of COAT is an example of progressive revelation using the transparent layering of many revelations to build an understanding of the holy through the development of a theme. See how simple that was to explain how the Bible is constructed. I jest!
The spiritual complexities within the PERSON of GOD is beyond our understanding, yet, the Holy Spirit of God simplifies what He desires His children of FAITH should KNOW, and therefore, through the simplicity of transparent layering of themes He draws the children of FAITH to SEE the BEAUTY and GLORY of our Lord and Savior in His garments of BEAUTY and GLORY by how He employs the word COAT. This may be a good time to encourage newcomers to this series to return to the first mention of the word COAT. CLICK HERE.

The GREAT CONSPIRACY AGAINST GOD’s ANOINTED
In Both the Earthly Realm and the Heavenly Realm

And it came to pass, that [when] David was come to the top [of the mount], where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head: (2nd Samuel 15:32)

This is the fourteenth mention of the word COAT. I suggest that you read the complete 15th Chapter of 2nd Samuel. Let me help those who can’t do that . . . .

And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him. (2nd Samuel 15:1)
And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel. (2nd Samuel 15:2)
And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee. (2nd Samuel 15:3)
Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice! (2nd Samuel 15:4)
And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him. (2nd Samuel 15:5)
And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel. (2nd Samuel 15:6)
And it came to pass after forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, I pray thee, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron. (2nd Samuel 15:7)
For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD. (2nd Samuel 15:8)
And the king said unto him, Go in peace. So he arose, and went to Hebron. (2nd Samuel 15:9)
But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom reigneth in Hebron. (2nd Samuel 15:10)
And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing. (2nd Samuel 15:11)
And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counsellor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom. (2nd Samuel 15:12)
And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom. (2nd Samuel 15:13)
And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword. (2nd Samuel 15:14)
And the king’s servants said unto the king, Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall appoint. (2nd Samuel 15:15)
And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, which were concubines, to keep the house. (2nd Samuel 15:16)
And the king went forth, and all the people after him, and tarried in a place that was far off. (2nd Samuel 15:17)
And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men which came after him from Gath, passed on before the king. (2nd Samuel 15:18)
Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile. (2nd Samuel 15:19)
Whereas thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us? seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and truth be with thee. (2nd Samuel 15:20)
And Ittai answered the king, and said, As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will thy servant be. (2nd Samuel 15:21)
And David said to Ittai, Go and pass over. And Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him. (2nd Samuel 15:22)
And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness. (2nd Samuel 15:23)
And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city. (2nd Samuel 15:24)
And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and shew me both it, and his habitation: (2nd Samuel 15:25)
But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him. (2nd Samuel 15:26)
The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar. (2nd Samuel 15:27)
See, I will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to certify me. (2nd Samuel 15:28)
Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there. (2nd Samuel 15:29)
And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up. (2nd Samuel 15:30)
And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness. (2nd Samuel 15:31)
And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head: (2nd Samuel 15:32)
Unto whom David said, If thou passest on with me, then thou shalt be a burden unto me: (2nd Samuel 15:33)
But if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom, I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father’s servant hitherto, so will I now also be thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel. (2nd Samuel 15:34)
And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king’s house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. (2nd Samuel 15:35)
Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok’s son, and Jonathan Abiathar’s son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear. (2nd Samuel 15:36)
So Hushai David’s friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem. (2nd Samuel 15:37)

Chapter 15 of 2nd Samuel is a fascinating read of conspiracy at the highest level in the realm of David. In this 15th Chapter we also see GRACE, the grace of a gracious de-throned king toward his FAITHFUL followers.
In the United States we (those whose eyes have been opened to conspiracy for decades) KNOW that the conspiracy among men and women within the very depth of government is very REAL and extremely EVIL. This 15th Chapter of 2nd Samuel discloses how deeply conspiracy can go in the workings of government. No one is left out of a conspiracy against king David, there is executive conspiracy, legislature conspiracy, religious conspiracy, cabinet counselors conspiracy, the IC or Intelligent Community (spies) were a force gathering more traitors into Absalom’s conspiracy (2nd Samuel 15:10), even journalistic conspiracy (as in our day, treacherous news liars and agencies are co-conspirators) and also military conspiracy. . . scores upon scores of traitors grew daily against David, God’s anointed king.

Absalom’s devilish and devious goal was FORTY years in the planning. (Forty is the number of trial for mankind.) And it came to pass after forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, I pray thee, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron. (2nd Samuel 15:7) There is enough historical and spiritual material in this 15th Chapter worth years of blessings through diligent study.
This conspiracy of Absalom in 2nd Samuel Chapter 15, although thousands of years in the past, is a LIVING ACTIVE example of how the conspiracy against President Trump operates. Haters of God NEVER change their battle formation. As the conspirators of our age reflect the many government conspiracies through the history of mankind, history also reflects the ORIGINAL CONSPIRACY of LUCIFER against His Creator God. * CLICK HERE for more information about Ahithophel and his connection to Bathsheba.

The GREAT Underlying THEMES in Chapter 15 of 2nd Samuel

This 15th Chapter is saturated with betrayal and profound spiritual shadows of the UNSEEN realm BEFORE the creation of the SEEN realm of man and shades of the fullness of time to come and beyond the coming of the fullness of time. One layer of this 15th Chapter is about David, the first king of Israel anointed by God with a horn of oil. Another layer of the 15th Chapter of 2nd Samuel is about the True and Faithful KING of Israel, the Lord of glory, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I [am] the first, and I [am] the last; and beside me [there is] no God. (Isaiah 44:6)
Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel. (John 1:49)
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed [is] the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. (John 12:13)
He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. (Matthew 27:42)He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.(Matthew 27:43)

In this 15th Chapter the rejection of David and the betrayal against David (the meaning of the name David is ‘Beloved’) connects to the rejection and betrayal of the Beloved of God, Jesus the Christ. This 15th Chapter also presents the theme of THE FAITHFUL sharing in the rejection of their king/KING.

This section of 2nd Samuel 15:18 – 22 consists of five verses, disclosing GRACE. These five verses disclose through this prelude a FUTURE to come of GRACE toward the FAITHFUL in the age of the Church. Through the name of Ittai the Holy Spirit of God adds to the theme of the FUTURE FAITHFUL. Ittai appears seven times in Scripture and ALL these seven appearances are in 2nd Samuel, Chapters 15, 18 and 23. These seven documentations are NOT without purpose or meaning. The name Ittai has a dual meaning, ‘with me,’ and ‘timely.’ Ittai was a son of Ribai, whose name also has a dual meaning, ‘my strength,‘ and ‘whom Jehovah defends.’ Ittai was a Gittite which means ‘a wine-press,‘ a place of extracting juice by the means of treading and extreme pressure by crushing, trampling and beating. Spiritual use of a place of crushing, trampling and beating relates to judgment: the judgment of sin. From a place of ultimate crushing Jehovah reveals His strength. Through the meaning of the name of Ittai the FAITHFUL (with me) is unveiled as those in a future TIMELY manner, The Holy Spirit of God, the MASTER WORDSMITH, through ONE NAME, Ittai, uncloaks the mystery of a future Church to come in time . . . with me and timely. As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will thy servant be. Is this not the voice of the FAITHFUL in the age of the Church? The FAITHFUL in the Old Testament and the FAITHFUL in the age of GRACE and TRUTH, and the FAITHFUL of the spirits of just men made perfect . . . are ALL called strangers and pilgrims . . . for thou art a stranger, and also an exile. (2nd Samuel 15:19).

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: (Ephesians 2:12)
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; (Ephesians 2:19)

. . . and have come through the new birth to serve God and His Christ in another age and in another time are considered Whereas thou camest but yesterday. It has always been to the Jew first and then the Gentile. The gospel of repentance first went out to Israel by John the Baptist, the gospel of Christ in the NAME of Jesus Christ was first preached to those in the age of Christ.

And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. (Luke 24:47)
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. (Romans 1:16)
Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; (Romans 2:9)
But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: (Romans 2:10)

The last verse (37) of 2nd Samuel in amazing simplicity sets the theme of KINGSHIP. So Hushai David’s friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem. (2nd Samuel 15:37) The phrase David’s friend is only documented twice in Scripture, and both times it is found in 2nd Samuel, once in 15:37 and once in 16:16. Hushai means ‘my hastenings,’ ‘hasty,’ and ‘rapid.’ Did you notice how the Holy Spirit of God sets a separation between Hushai and Absalom in this verse. So Hushai David’s friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem. Absalom’s name means ‘father of peace,‘ ‘peaceful,’ and/or ‘father is peace.’ There was not anything of peace found in the man Absalom, Jerusalem means ‘double peace’ and/or ‘founded in peace.’ BUT Jerusalem has never been an example of peace. WHY? The answer is that peace will NEVER come to Jerusalem WITHOUT THE KING OF PEACE IN JERUSALEM. When Hiushai entered into Jerusalem, it was merely a city because the king (David) was not there, and it will remain merely a city through time until The KING (the Lord Jesus Christ) is there.

The Rent Coat
and
THE UNTORN COAT

And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up. (2nd Samuel 15:30)
And it came to pass, that [when] David was come to the top [of the mount], where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head: (2nd Samuel 15:32)

Within our main study verse there is another underlying theme, another revelation and another teaching method by the Holy Spirit of God. Repetition is a good thing, therefore remember the various methods of spiritual instruction are words (in their meaning, phrases, placement and sequences), numbers, patterns, placement, a linear timeline, progressive revelation, the Law of First Mention, and hidden yet transparent layered themes. Now let us delve into another means of teaching things of the holy . . . THE BRIDGE . . . bridging time and timelessness.
Sometimes the spiritual bridge joins together time and timelessness, or it can also be seen as a joining between two different time frames. A bridge leads to (connects) and it leads from (transition); a bridge has two exits and two entrances. From the height of a bridge much can be seen looking back and looking forward at the same time. Within ONE verse God can draw the reader into the past and into the future at the same time. Within ONE verse God can also draw the reader into the realm of the Supernatural and into the realm of the natural at the same time . . . I have termed this method of teaching the things of God . . . bridging time and timelessness. However, this bridge is for spiritual eyes. Again read 2nd Samuel 15:32, And it came to pass, that [when] David was come to the top [of the mount], where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head. The top of the mount was mount Olivet. Mount Olivet in the New Testament was where the Lord Jesus Christ ASCENDED into the heavenly. The word OLIVET is only mentioned TWICE in Scripture. (2nd Samuel 15:30 and Acts 1:12) This number of witness, the number two, connects as a BRIDGE from the sad exile of the earthly anointed king of Israel to the JOYOUS entrance into the heavens to sit on the right hand of God as the Anointed King of Israel. It is NOT an accident nor a coincidence that the word OLIVET is first seen at the description of David’s exile from Jerusalem in his ASCENT on mount Olivet to Christ’s ASCENSION in the clouds to sit as RULER in the HOLY and GREAT City of the Great King, the NEW JERUSALEM. However, the common thread between king David and the KING of many crowns (the Lord Jesus Christ) is that both were REJECTED.

And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven. (Luke 24:51) And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy: (Luke 24:52)
So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. (Mark 16:19)
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. (Acts 1:9)
And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel; (Acts 1:10)
Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven. (Acts 1:11)
Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey. (Acts 1:12)

It was the friend of David who rent his own coat in sorrow because the kingdom had become torn. Remember that the COAT symbolizes HEIRSHIP, SONSHIP, PRIESTHOOD AND KINGSHIP. Through the documentation of following both the Law of First Mention and the principle of Word Placement, the word COAT is seen in 2nd Samuel Chapter 15 as belonging to a friend of David, Hushai the Archite. Thus, the view of THIS COAT is from the eyes of David’s friend. Hushai symbolizes the FAITHFUL men and women in the framework of time who endured the loss of their righteous king, and in this framework we have the bridge of time and timelessness that leads further into time when during the FULLNESS OF THE TIME, the Lord Jesus Christ was called and recognized by many as The King of Israel, yet He was REFUSED and REJECTED . A critical principle in 2nd Samuel 15 is that DAVID did not tear his coat. His coat of KINGSHIP was never torn by his hands nor was it touched. Consider the garment of Christ was neither torn nor divided. (If God wills, we will be studying the word coat in the New Testament.)

Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout. (John 19:23)
They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did. (John 19:24)
They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. (Psalm 22:18)

~

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel. (John 1:49)
Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed [is] the King of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. (John 12:13)
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. (Isaiah 53:3)
He came unto his own, and his own received him not. (John 1:11)

In order to have a kingdom there must be a king. The kingdom of David was torn away from David because his son, Absalom, lusted over the throne. A kingdom can only survive with one king, and any kingdom with more than one king ceases to be a kingdom. In Absalom’s evil rebellious heart David had to die. Hushai, the friend of David, understood the position of David and the situation of David’s followers, and the nation itself. ALL who were loyal to David faced death.
Once a kingdom is severed, it can never again become a united force since there will always be a remnant of the discontented. The United States is an example of this principle. After the Civil War between the states, true unification became a lie. It became easier to pretend then to accept the reality of a divided country. Wishes, dreams and patriotic emotions of some united peoples singing of an imagined united country are only for a moment in time. The work of the enemy to divide family and friends reared a ten-headed monster during the plandemic. Thus, unveiling a fractured populace controlled by unseen forces of men and women of power determined to gain MORE POWER and MORE WEALTH AND MORE CONTROL through LIES. Although the United States under President Trump may see a better existence, it will only be for a limited period of time. Once the seeds of sinister corruption and ominous division are planted there is no way to undo what has been done EXCEPT by UNQUENCHABLE FIRE. Man’s justice can neither totally correct corruption, nor remove corruption, for the heart of man is desperately wicked. (The germination of social and political corruption in this nation was rooted in Communism and Marxism (the two-sided evil seed)  . . . one uses words that leads to the other using guns.)

Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil. (Ecclesiastes 8:11)
This [is] an evil among all [things] that are done under the sun, that [there is] one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness [is] in their heart while they live, and after that [they go] to the dead. (Ecclesiastes 9:3)
The heart [is] deceitful above all [things], and desperately wicked: who can know it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

The principle of the wheat and the chaff first began in the heavenly realm, and where it began is where it will end. Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and gather his wheat into the garner; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire. (Matthew 3:12) Whose fan [is] in his hand, and he will throughly purge his floor, and will gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn with fire unquenchable. (Luke 3:1) UNQUENCHABLE FIRE is the destiny of ALL corruption and ALL sin. From the beginning of CORRUPTION and DIVISION in the domain of the heavenly sphere to its end God has promised to CLEANSE FOREVER the seed of corruption.

Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly: (Job 4:18)
Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight. (Job 15:15)
Behold even to the moon, and it shineth not; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight. (Job 25:5)
For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; (2nd Peter 2:4)
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. (1st John 3:8)

The FAITHFUL do not see their Lord and King without a kingdom. Our God is an ETERNAL GOD and an ETERNAL KING with an ETERNAL KINGDOM. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, [be] honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (1st Timothy 1:17) Even the Supernatural numbers of 1st – 1 – 1 and 7 discloses the Supernatural Perfection of the GODHEAD as the KING ETERNAL.

PASSING OVER

And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness. (2nd Samuel 15:23)

Brook Kidron is mentioned eleven times in the Old Testament and the fields of Kidron once. And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, and the priests of the second order, and the keepers of the door, to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal, and for the grove, and for all the host of heaven: and he burned them without Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried the ashes of them unto Bethel. (2nd Kings 23:4) The word Cedron (Kidron) is only mentioned once in the New Testament. When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples. (John 18:1) The meaning of Kidron and Cedron is ‘dark,’ ‘turbid,‘ ‘dusky,’ ‘gloomy,‘ ‘the mourner,’ and ‘the black one.’ There is no doubt about the message within the words Kidron/Cedron.
After the Lord’s intercessory prayer in the garden of the dark shadows of Gethsemane (oil press place) in the 17th Chapter of the gospel of John, the Lord went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, (over the dark mournful blackness of death) into the garden called the ‘oil press place‘ WITH his disciples. The Lord, the oil of gladness, faced before Him the offering of His soul for sin, the climax of God’s deepest love for His creatures on the hill of the place of the skull. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (Isaiah 53:5)

And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness. (2nd Samuel 15:23) This verse discloses both a time past and a time future. Note: And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over views the condition of a weeping nation, a sorrowful country, taken into captivity by the forces of evil, the Babylonian era of the past, and the current spirit of the daughter of Babylon. There will be another weeping when the nation who continues to reject Him sees Him whom they had pierced.

They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way, wherein they shall not stumble: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. (Jeremiah 31:9)
In those days, and in that time, saith the LORD, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together, going and weeping: they shall go, and seek the LORD their God. (Jeremiah 50:4)
And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn. (Zechariah 12:10

Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. (Revelation 1:7)

Then we see the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron . . . here is the future, a prophecy of a KING to come who will PASS OVER the darkness of death. Then we again see a repeat of people passing over, and all the people passed over. However, this time of weeping, the people (the weeping nation) will face manifold trials in the wilderness outside of their dependance upon God. (Revelation Chapter 12)
Through the bridge of time of 2nd Samuel 15:23, the Holy Spirit connects the emotional, spiritual and physical trial of king David and his followers as they advanced into the way of the wilderness. And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up. (2nd Samuel 15:30) Chapter 15 of 2nd Samuel typifies Christ and those who gathered around Him. One group of followers represent those who passed over from the earthly to a heavenly scene. Then there is another group of followers who remain behind to serve with the gospel to counter against the adversary known as ‘the foolish.’

(The meaning of the name of Ahithophel is truly ironic, not coincidental. Here is a counselor to a king in a court of military men and intellectuals, yet his name means ‘brother of folly‘ and/or ‘foolishness.‘ This is proof that God has a sense of humor. Verse 23, in Chapter 16 of the book of 2nd Samuel brings God’s thoughts behind the meaning of the name of Ahithophel and man’s lack of discernment. And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, [was] as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so [was] all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.)

Zadok the Priest – The Eyes and Ears of David
Zadok The Priest – The Comforter Sent
Zadok The Priest – The Intercessor and Mediator

And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favour in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and shew me both it, and his habitation: (2nd Samuel 15:25)
And [hast thou] not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, [that] what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king’s house, thou shalt tell [it] to Zadok and Abiathar the priests. (2nd Samuel 15:35)
Behold, [they have] there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok’s [son], and Jonathan Abiathar’s [son]; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear. (2nd Samuel 15:36)

How is Zadok the priest of the Old Testament connected to the Comforter sent in the New Testament? How is Zadok the priest of the Old Testament connected to the High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus in the New Testament? First, Christ is the High Priest of our profession.

Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus; (Hebrews 3:1)
So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee. (Hebrews 5:5) As he saith also in another place, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec. (Hebrews 5:6)
But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building. (Hebrews 9:11)

Christ in His priestly role at the right hand of God as Melchisedec is our Advocate, and our Intercessor and Mediator.

Who [is] he that condemneth? [It is] Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. (Romans 8:34)
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. (Hebrews 7:25) For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens; (Hebrews 7:26)
Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; (Hebrews 8:1)
For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: (Hebrews 9:24)

REMEMBER that ALL Scripture is for our learning. ALL Scripture . .. ALL words, ALL phrases, ALL number structures . . . ALL. Zadok’s name means ‘to justify,‘ and ‘Just.’ There are 50 verses with the name of Zadok in Scripture. Now we have two elements to consider: Just and the number fifty. In the 7th Chapter of the book of Acts in verse 52, we read, Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? and they have slain them which shewed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom ye have been now the betrayers and murderers. Christ is called The Just One; herein, He could also be called Zadok . . . The JUST and the JUSTIFIER. Now on to the second element . . . the number 50.

In the New Testament this 50th day of liberty, or Pentecost was a one-time happening; as the birth of Christ was a one-time happening; and the death of Christ was a one-time happening; and the resurrection of Christ was a one-time happening. Pentecost was a one-time happening, the giving of the Comforter, the Holy Spirit sent to earth to fulfill His mission was a one-time event, never to be collectively repeated in the history of man.

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. (Acts 2:1) And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. (Acts 2:2) And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. (Acts 2:3) And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (Acts 2:4)
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. (Acts 4:31)

David sent Zadok the priest back to Jerusalem to better serve his purposes. Through Zadok’s name and documentation of his name we have a transparent bridge joining the priest sent by David to the Comforter sent by the Lord Jesus Christ.

But the Comforter, [which is] the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)
But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, [even] the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: (John 15:26)
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)

The Torn and Rent Coat of the Friend and Companion

And it came to pass, that [when] David was come to the top [of the mount], where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head: (2nd Samuel 15:32)

And Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor: and Hushai the Archite was the king’s companion: (1st Chronicles 27:33)
So Hushai David’s friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem. (2nd Samuel 15:37)

Hushai typifies those of the FAITHFUL as FRIENDS and COMPANIONS of the Lord Jesus Christ, the Righteous and Eternal King in Exile. Hushai rent his coat to show his sorrow at the rejection of king David, yet he returned to Jerusalem to continue to serve David. Nevertheless, putting aside his torn coat, he appeared before the dangerous and murderous son of David to be the voice against evil. Thus, Hushai typifies the FAITHFUL after the cross, serving God in the work of the gospel, and as a friend and joint heir with Christ.

And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. (Luke 12:4)
He that hath the bride is the bridegroom: but the friend of the bridegroom, which standeth and heareth him, rejoiceth greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled. (John 3:29)
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. (John 15:13)
Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. (John 15:14)
Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you. (John 15:15)

The FAITHFUL do not serve in torn coats but serve clothed in the garments washed white and pure by the blood of Christ. As friends and companions of the rejected King is a badge of honor. To be rejected is also a position of acceptance.

Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. (Revelation 3:4) He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. (Revelation 3:5)
I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and [that] the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. (Revelation 3:18)

As FAITHFUL friends and companions we are the evidence and witnesses of the GREAT VICTORY . . . the victory over sin and death accomplished by our Lord and the KING ETERNAL, Jesus the Christ. Although society is TORN and the world Church is TORN and evil continually tears at man, we, the FAITHFUL friends and companions of our ETERNAL KING serve Him clothed in His Righteousness. Having placed on His friends and companions His protective garments of purity, the sting of death neither threatens us, nor does it stop us from joyfully serving Him.

For we that are in [this] tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. (2nd Corinthians 5:4)
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. (1st Corinthians 15:53)
So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. (1st Corinthians 15:54)
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? (1st Corinthians 15:55)
The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. (1st Corinthians 15:56)
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (1st Corinthians 15:57)
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. (1st Corinthians 15:58)
